when you're deciding what size to make each photo, there starts to be a point where there is a noticeable lost of visual quality. what feature in any program (doesn't have to be adobe) can automatically enlarge the size up to a point where the visual quality is still good?
Â
doing it manually for each photos is too inefficient.
I am in the WHCC Roes software program, creating a postcard. On the reverse side, I want to insert a small 2" x 1" photo. I therefore exported this size from LR3 (Image Sizing, Resize to Fit, Dimensions: 2.0 x 1.0, inches, and I clicked "Don't Enlarge". It didn't work.
When I'm looking at photos in my Library, I'd like to be able to sort them in terms of size.  A photo of 50 k is only of marginal interest for limited upload only. A photo of 15 mg is of great interest. The size tells me that it's at least moderately hi res and that there are probably a lot of pixels involved, and a good print can be made for publication or whatever. But I can't see a way to sort by image size. Is there a way? I'd like to separate a photo with a size of 720 X 480 from a photo with a size of 100 X 75.
When trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created. However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size.  Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.Â
I am checking the size of a photo as it needs to be as near as dammit to 10MB. this is it in Photoshop So it's 9.92MB. But this is what is shown when I select the folder it's in and to go list view (its the picture at the very top of list) / 1.9MB! Which is correct?
When I have an PSD icon set and I want to size a layer to a size that looks good. How do I see the dimentions of that layer so that I can select another layer and make it the same size.
I have Photoshop Elements 10 which I work with sparingly. I would like to outline a section of the photo (a face) and somehow select it to be the whole photo - in other words to get rid of all background elements. I can outline the area with lasso, but do not know how to just save that area. When I save, the whole original photo is saved. I also tried the magic extractor, which really worked to make just the face and crop everthing else out, but it has a white background the same size as the original photo, which means it is essentially a reactangle with a face in it. I am trying to just get the face so I can paste it into a document, sort of like when people put heads on fake bodies. This is for a church newsletter. I have done this with my old Picture It software, but that was on my old computer. I think I should be able to do this with all the gadgets Photo Shop has, but I must be missing something.
I have tried numerous times to make my paper size and actual plot size the same. My paper size is 24 x 36 but for some reason it rotates the paper and the output is 36 x 36, every time! When I look at it on the preview, it looks correct but then the paper comes out with a foot of paper at the top of the drawing. I've created new page sizes, etc.
I want to create a new page , design and print an A3 size photo in landscape view. What is the size (which means width and height) and resolution i have to set in Photoshop CS6.(I don't find any A3 file size when i open a new file)
I have watched a few videos, on changing image size, in cs6, since when I tried it, the photo didn't change size at all. I could change it to 1 million inches tall, and it will stay the same size. I don't really know what to do. I've tried unlocking the default layer, and changing the canvas size and nothing seems to make this image change size.
I want the image in the picture bigger, am I even doing it right by going under image, and changing the image size, and hitting ok? That is all the tutorials say to do, yet nothing happens for my image.
I have a photo where the orientation is landscape and I would like to make it a 5x7 portrait size orientation. Is there a way to do this without screwing up the entire photo?
when I was using Elements 5.0 I could open two photos, drag one photo into the other, then resize the photo by selecting it and using the handles. I can't find a way to do this in Photoshop CS3. Is this possible?  Am I missing a setting somewhere? I can drag one photo into another and move it around, but just can't resize it.
Recently I've noticed, when uploading some photo's to my web site that the file size is rather small. I know that cropping, processing, and saving to jpeg results in file size reduction.  So ... I did a test. I took one photo shot in the raw format (the file size was about 21 mp). I then took it into Photoshop CS5 and just saved it as a jpeg ... and the file size went to 9.9 mp. I found that to be a questionable reduction.  My image size details of the test photo is:  Pixel Dimenstions: 5616 px x 3744 px  Document Size: 18.72 x 12.48 and 300 px Resolution  All of the following are checked:
Scale Style Constrain Proportions Resize Image  I have selected:  Bicubic (best for smooth gradients)  I saved the photo at the highest quality setting of 12  So the Question: Is this test reduction normal or am I doing something wrong with my "save as" settings
what happened to the option "Picture Size" under the "View" menu in Photoshop CS6? It was great for viewing as picture size before sharpenning. I know the option 100% is there, but it is often larger than the actual photo size.
I'm a screen printer and I want to do something similar to this for shirts. I'm guessing them just take a picture and mess with the contrast and levels.
After cropping a photo to 4x6 it displays as 3.5 x 7 This makes the photo distorted. How do I fix the display to be accurate? People look shorter and fatter?
I am trying to make a perfect circle that is the size of a CD. Â I have made guides that are 5" x 5" wide (a little wider than an actual CD) and 5"x5" tall. When I try to create a circle shape or marquis inside of my lines, I can't. I have to make an oval in order to meet my guides. Â I thought it was an issue with my units in my rulers. No dice. I tried creating a marquis fixed at 5"x5". No dice. Still an oval. Shouldn't 5"x5" be a perfect circle? A circle with a circumference of 5" would be the same all the way around, right? Or do I need to go back to geometry class?
Basically I have about 15 layers of images that I have to resize so they are all the same dimentions, without loosing quality, but if there are no options, I'm willing to losse quality.
I've come up with this little problem with my text. When I want to make them really small (like 1pt or 2pt) it gets all blury and messed up...
But I can't get the same quality with really small size like you see in those examples... I've tried the sharp, smooth, strong, none, etc but no none gives a good quality....
I'm new to photoshop CS6 and I'm having some trouble. I'm trying to make cutout pictures like Melinda Gibson (see picture 1 and 2) but I can't manage to do this. I want to take a picture of the outline of a person (see picture 3) and cut out the center of the picture over another picture. That was I have the form of the person with the background of the second picture. But I can't figure it out. I tried to "select inverse" after using the magic lasso tool but I don't get the cut out, just a line
I am trying to do a reflection in photoshop. I can do a reflection in photoshop if the picture is a straight on shot of a car. I tried to do a shot of a car that is from a front angle, but when I flip it verticle I can not get the tires to all line up. I am wondering how to get all three tires to touch each other. I have tried distorting, skewing, perspective and can not get it to work. Here is the image I have been practicing on that I found on the internet.
