Photoshop :: Way To Chop Up Image Into Squares Via Grid And Rearrange?
Sep 30, 2012Is there a way in PS5 to chop up an image into squares via a grid and rearrange them? Other than making a bunch of little individual images?

View 3 Replieshow to cut up an image using a geometric grid that I can create in Illustrator.Today I've learn how to make the grid, using a tutorial I've found, but now I need to learn how to use this grid to cut a picture along all of the lines, so that I can rearrange some of them and perhaps move of them out of place too.
The first, second and third pictures attached are the kind of grids that I want to make (I now know how to do this), to use as a template to cut up the picture, the third and forth pictures are as close as I can find to the outcome I want, with the faces rearranged (I think these were done by hand in these examples).
What would the settings be to render a grid with six equal squares? I just can't figure it out.texture size 1024 x 1024.

But for e mailing I want to get creative.
I want to chop off a 1/2 of the white space and cruch together the top part of the letterhead with the logo with the bottom strip which has my address.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a picture book and I have a set of illustrations by two different artists. I want to put an initial on each illustration to indicate the artist, and I'd like the initial to end up looking like it was stamped on with a Chinese Chop I have the illustrations scanned as TIFFs and I have also scanned an initial "stamp" for each artist as TIFFs.
What is the easiest way to accomplish this? (I tried unsuccessfully to make a custom shape.) I have PS-CS5 and an iMacOS10.6.8. I'm eventually putting the book together in InDesign, with some pre work in Photoshop.
This was really easy using fireworks, how I can do this so I can get a transparent background.
View 1 Replies View Relatedis it possible to re-order the swatches you save off? i've been saving odd swatches for ages, and as a result they're all over the place when you look at them in F6. it's not vital, but i'd kinda like to rearrange them so they're all grouped a little more sensibly : short of making a sample of each on a blank doc, deleteing them all then sampling/saving them all again in order, is it possible to edit the swatches?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy do I get a grid over my image when I first open it up? I've looked in my preferences and can't find a way to have this issue stop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust come back to a piece of work afte my son was playing with the computer, and he's set up something in Photoshop that I've never seen before. Really strugling to describe it – there seems to be an invisble grid or chequerboard over my image somehow. When I try to paste another image into a new transparent layer (I'm trying to combine two images), it doesn't appear solid but has transparent squares all over it. Also, if I try to select a block of colour with the magic wand tool, the marching ants go into a chequerboard shape. In the hope of un-setting this I've taken the history way back to beore I last worked on the image, but no joy – it's some kind of option that will have to be switched off. I'm sue it's something incredibly simple and obvious, it's just that I can't find it!

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way I can quickly split an image into a grid of lots of equal smaller sized images and save them all individually.
way to reconstitute them all back into one big image.
I want to take an image (doesn't matter what) and lay a finely bordered grid over it.
Then I will be filling in certain spots of the grid with the background color, essentially making it look like a large digitized image.
Now imagine an image filled in that grid. If the web page background was green, then I'd take random squares and fill them in as green.
Should I be drawing the grid? Erasing the background of an existing image? I've experimented with different things but really haven't come close to the desired effect.
I use PS7.
I have been dying to know this effect, which looks really professional in web pages.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to rearrange character or paragraph styles in Photoshop CS6? I've tried everything I could think of (Control, Command, Shift click etc.) to no avail. Rather frustrated as it's annoying having a messy styles palette but clean layers.
If this isn't an option why not implement it to function the same as the Layers Palette?
I've just scanned many hundreds of photos into several files, but I see no rhyme or reason to the order in which Photoshop displays them. Is there some way for me to rearrange the order of the photos in the Organizer space, without first assembling a slide show?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically, my problem is that I imported some 300 pictures into one folder but the organizer hasn't organized the pictures correctly. Which way it's organized the files but they're not in date/time order which is what I want them to be. The video tutorial seems to show that I can sort the photos by date/time taken (and I would be amazed if it didn't do that) but I can't get any option on the screen to sort by date/time taken, file size, file name etc., all of which I'm assuming I should be able to do. how to sort by date/time and, at the same time, how to change the defaults so that it normally shows files from the earliest date/time to the latest.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIve noticed since upgrading to CS 5.5 that when I zoom way in on an image in Photoshop, a grid shows up around the pixels at 500% + zoom. I don't mind it all that much but there are times when I don't want that grid to show. I'm sure there is a toggle somewhere in the preferences to turn this on and off completely but it would be nice to have a key command. Not sure if that exists

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just bought Elements 12. Great programme. I used to use Picasa 3, a good free programme. In Picasa it is easy to move images around in their folders by simply click, drag and drop. This does not work in elements. Is it possible to achieve this somehow?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am tired of my zillion of photo's scatered over my harddrive. I have backups of backups of my photo's, and sure have duplicates. Maybe even 6 times. Who knows.I used picasa to sort things out, but I am beginning to dislike this way of working.
So I looked at some reviews of lightroom. Can I sort/rearrange my photos. And how. As the folder is 30gb big with subfolders and subfolder in that. Most of the 30gb is duplicates.I want to have it sorted by date. I can always manually change a folder name. But need to get rid of the duplicates and have it sorted.I downloaded the trial, and tried to import photos. But is get to 199 pics and then it stops.
Once I have imported my footage how do I rearange them in the project bin. I can't seem to grab a clip and move it into the position in list I want ( similar to arranging clips in PP or FCP )
