Photoshop :: Rearrange Character / Paragraph Styles In CS6
Sep 17, 2012
Is it possible to rearrange character or paragraph styles in Photoshop CS6? I've tried everything I could think of (Control, Command, Shift click etc.) to no avail. Rather frustrated as it's annoying having a messy styles palette but clean layers.
If this isn't an option why not implement it to function the same as the Layers Palette?
I know that there is another issue here but I wanted to write down an other. Because it seems to me Adobe DO NOT answer to these issues. I can not use Paragraph&Character styles because those tool are made to tell us "please don't use this because this tool just for show off for new CS6 and not working actually".
My machine is : [URL].... My PS version : 13.0
I use Extensis Fusion 4 I have xCode (regarding to other issue comments)
Can the "Basic Paragraph" style in Paragraph Styles be modified? How is this done?
I can bring up the Paragraph Styles Options diaglog by double clicking "Basic Paragraph" in the Paragraph Styles panel. I can also modify it, for example, by changing the font family. But when I click OK to save it, it creates a new style and leaves "Basic Paragraph" unchanged.
I know that the Basic Paragraph style can be modified in InDesign, but I don't see how to do it in Photoshop.
I have a large book similar to the "Yellow Pages" and all of the business names are in the same Paragraph style. I need to index alphabetically. I done it for the first time last year and accomplished it through Table of Contents(TOC) I saved it in my How to and when I tried to do it again this year it's problematic, not only putting my business in alpha but also putting my page numbers in alpha (they don't match up).
Paragraph styles do not show up when I open the panel. If I say "download" from the pulldown menu, it takes me to my c drive. I don't know how to access the paragraph syles.
I would like to assign keyboard shortcuts for functions inside the paragraph styles panel in PS CS6. It seems that no option to do this is exposed - is this correct?
Is there a way, maybe by script, to have a paragraph style include some default text?
For example, if I assign an empty paragrahp the Note style, It would display as formated, but would include the string "NOTE:"^t (i.e. NOTE: with a tab character following).
or perhaps the style Caution might display as formatted with the word caution in all caps underline (CAUTION) followed by a forced line break (^n).
I have big document with a lot of headers and subheaders that I need to move around. It's too big of a job to do it manually so I want to use paragraph styles for this but I can't seem to find where to set this. Is it even possible?
I have to define the outline weight in my paragraph style to - let's say - 12 pt. How do I manage that? I can only choose from a predefined list, which is unsufficient.
It used to work in CS4, as you can see in the following screenshot.
I'm working with Mac, by the way, and I was told that this "bug" is not occuring on Windows..
how to create a custom bullet using the bullet character style and configure it as needed. The issue I have is that I can't edit or delete a custom bullet character style once it is created. When I create a custom character style, it doesn't preview so I'm sort of guessing on things like baseline or vertical shift and things like that, so it is trial and error and then I end up with a bunch of extraneous character styles. What I really want to do is edit an existing one - is there a way to do this and I'm just missing it? And if not, can I at least delete the extra character styles?
I'm having a lot of trouble understanding how Adobe Illustrator (CS6) manages character styles imported from different ai documents. If I create all character styles in a single .ai document and only use them in in that document, everything works as expected--colors, fonts, and typography settings are maintained in the character style, and newly added text can be quickly styled with the character style.
My trouble starts when i want to re-use those character styles in a new .ai document. From the character style menu I use the option to import the character styles from another document, and they import correctly--all of the styles work and style text as expected. But then i save & close the document and re-open it to find that the character style entries are there, but the fills and strokes are all messed up--fonts, sizes, typography settings are maintained, but styles with a blue fill are suddenly filed with black, or some other color.
This happens even if the swatches associated with the character styles are imported to the new document as well. I've read that all character styles are based off of the 'normal' character style.
is it possible to re-order the swatches you save off? i've been saving odd swatches for ages, and as a result they're all over the place when you look at them in F6. it's not vital, but i'd kinda like to rearrange them so they're all grouped a little more sensibly : short of making a sample of each on a blank doc, deleteing them all then sampling/saving them all again in order, is it possible to edit the swatches?
I've just scanned many hundreds of photos into several files, but I see no rhyme or reason to the order in which Photoshop displays them. Is there some way for me to rearrange the order of the photos in the Organizer space, without first assembling a slide show?
Basically, my problem is that I imported some 300 pictures into one folder but the organizer hasn't organized the pictures correctly. Which way it's organized the files but they're not in date/time order which is what I want them to be. The video tutorial seems to show that I can sort the photos by date/time taken (and I would be amazed if it didn't do that) but I can't get any option on the screen to sort by date/time taken, file size, file name etc., all of which I'm assuming I should be able to do. how to sort by date/time and, at the same time, how to change the defaults so that it normally shows files from the earliest date/time to the latest.
I've tried multiple images and file extensions, but it seems as though I can't rearrange my layer order anymore. Is there a reason this would happen, or is there a keyboard shortcut I can try?
I have just bought Elements 12. Great programme. I used to use Picasa 3, a good free programme. In Picasa it is easy to move images around in their folders by simply click, drag and drop. This does not work in elements. Is it possible to achieve this somehow?
I'm just getting started with illustrator (coming from Coreldraw) and I'm working on getting my workspace set up the way I want. On my dock when I select a path I have the object type, opacity, alignment and dimensions displayed. I got rid of everything else using the drop down on the far right. how to rearrange these to go object type, dimensions, alignment, opacity.
I need rearrange my file structure to make it better, and so i easler can work with it. The reason that I prefre to do it with Lightroom, is that I mostly have raw files, and the file manager i windows7 do not read those.
I am tired of my zillion of photo's scatered over my harddrive. I have backups of backups of my photo's, and sure have duplicates. Maybe even 6 times. Who knows.I used picasa to sort things out, but I am beginning to dislike this way of working.
So I looked at some reviews of lightroom. Can I sort/rearrange my photos. And how. As the folder is 30gb big with subfolders and subfolder in that. Most of the 30gb is duplicates.I want to have it sorted by date. I can always manually change a folder name. But need to get rid of the duplicates and have it sorted.I downloaded the trial, and tried to import photos. But is get to 199 pics and then it stops.
Once I have imported my footage how do I rearange them in the project bin. I can't seem to grab a clip and move it into the position in list I want ( similar to arranging clips in PP or FCP )
How do you apply certain contour label styles to certain surface styles (i.e. When I have an existing surface i want the default contour labels to be an "existing contour" style). Right now the default is a "finished contour" label style for all surfaces.
How do update the styles library to keep from getting the Styles Conflict error box. I have used the Standard.dwg file that loaded with Inventor 2012 but everytime I change styles and save the changes in a new template in reverts back to the library definitions.
I used to be able to select 'NO' in the LIbrary option of the Projects Folder but that optiion no longer exists.
We've created a new parts list style for a border. When the border tempalt file is on the c: drive...everything works hunky dory...parts list, revision tables, etc.But as soon as we copy and paste that border into the template library folder for new drgs...the parts list style is missing from the local styles?
So to make it appear on the new document...the style manager has to be set at all styles and the new parts list style has to be saved to the document? What aren't we doing to make it appear on the template?
Also note that because the drawing border template is in a template folder as part of the design projects...it is NOT editable...so it has to be edited outside the template folder.
Is there is any way to re-arrange the columns in my ipart table without having to delete all of my parameters and then adding them back in the order that I want them to appear in? I would like certain information grouped together instead of having to scroll back and forth across the row to edit certain parameters.
I created a horizontal alignment from objects and upon importing it c3d seems to have taken liberty to arrange the lines in order it sees fit. Is there a way to rearrange the alignment tangent and curves and change their direction?

how to cut up an image using a geometric grid that I can create in Illustrator.Today I've learn how to make the grid, using a tutorial I've found, but now I need to learn how to use this grid to cut a picture along all of the lines, so that I can rearrange some of them and perhaps move of them out of place too.
The first, second and third pictures attached are the kind of grids that I want to make (I now know how to do this), to use as a template to cut up the picture, the third and forth pictures are as close as I can find to the outcome I want, with the faces rearranged (I think these were done by hand in these examples).
