is it possible to re-order the swatches you save off? i've been saving odd swatches for ages, and as a result they're all over the place when you look at them in F6. it's not vital, but i'd kinda like to rearrange them so they're all grouped a little more sensibly : short of making a sample of each on a blank doc, deleteing them all then sampling/saving them all again in order, is it possible to edit the swatches?
View 1 RepliesI am proficient in Illustrator, but this has been one of a few enigmas. Every once and a while in a file, I have noticed that after deleting a color that is definitely not in use(ie there are no strokes, fills, stray paths etc) using these colors. I have made sure of it. I will delete the color from the swatches and as a final pass I like to add used colors and sure enough that color will come back. I tried making sure it's not checked global, didn't work, some I don't even think are global colors, and in fact they are generally CMYK. I often notice that Black and C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:100 don't like to delete from the swatches among some other colors when you delete unused swatches. I thought perhaps they were in guides or something but it's truly unexplainable, and generally with a fresh file if all colors are deleted it'll still leave black white and gray.
Or ways to troubleshoot better other than creating a debug file and deleting lines of code as recommended in the older forums?
My colour swatches disappeared although I clicked on "show all swatches". What do I have to do to appear regularly when opening Illustrator?

If this isn't an option why not implement it to function the same as the Layers Palette?

Which way it's organized the files but they're not in date/time order which is what I want them to be. The video tutorial seems to show that I can sort the photos by date/time taken (and I would be amazed if it didn't do that) but I can't get any option on the screen to sort by date/time taken, file size, file name etc., all of which I'm assuming I should be able to do. how to sort by date/time and, at the same time, how to change the defaults so that it normally shows files from the earliest date/time to the latest.

Most of the 30gb is duplicates.I want to have it sorted by date. I can always manually change a folder name. But need to get rid of the duplicates and have it sorted.I downloaded the trial, and tried to import photos. But is get to 199 pics and then it stops.

how to cut up an image using a geometric grid that I can create in Illustrator.Today I've learn how to make the grid, using a tutorial I've found, but now I need to learn how to use this grid to cut a picture along all of the lines, so that I can rearrange some of them and perhaps move of them out of place too.
The first, second and third pictures attached are the kind of grids that I want to make (I now know how to do this), to use as a template to cut up the picture, the third and forth pictures are as close as I can find to the outcome I want, with the faces rearranged (I think these were done by hand in these examples).

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen i use Battman to re-arrange my attributes (in order to be able to auto-number them easily with a numbering-lisp), all values, rotation actions etc. are messed up and the block becomes unusable.
I use 2009, I've also tried it in ACAD 2014, same story.
The next step would be to create the block from scratch.
Is it possible to use the "Rearrange Artboards" option in the Artboards flyout menu and also move not only the artboard itself but also the hidden artwork (layers, objects, etc.) on that artboard?
I have tried check-marking the "Move Artwork with Artboard" option, but that still does not move the hidden artwork. The default behavior seems to be that only the active or visible artwork is moved along with the artboard, but the hiddden artwork is left behind somewhere on the workspace where the artboard used to be before it was moved.
I find this a little cumbersome, since I often hide artwork that I'm testing and having to make them all visible again to just move them with the artboard would break the dinstinction between all the many very similar layers, objects, etc. that I might be working with at a given time.

I have created some live text (ie: it remains editable)
I have given it a fill of black and a heavy (7pt) stroke of blue.
I cannot appear to rearrange the stroke so that it falls beneath the fill
I assumed it would simply be question of dragging it below, as one would with the Layers
However, when I converted the text to outlines (in this case the text "UNIVERS") it works.
And also why are the eyes in the first coloumn grayed out when the text is live. But not so when text is outlined?
I was wondering if it will be possible to rearrange layers by simply dragging them?I'm asking this because clicking on the move up/down buttons can become tedious when you have a lot of layers.Also will it be possible to auto hide the toolbar or enter a fullscreen mode?

my problem is the color gray. the swatches that fade from white to black have a red tint to them. I tryed the color setting, to see if i can take the red tint out but it doesn't work.
my color setting is set to north america General purpose which is the defult i believe.
The color picker doesn't have gray in this setting. I do get gray when i change the setting' but no change in the grays in the swatches.

Is there a way of organizing the colours in a swatch to something other than the default.
You can delete, or add, but you can't drag them to new positions to arrange.
I'm creating some swatches of my own, but the order of the colours is not to my liking. Just can't figure out if they can be organised by Hue, Brightness etc, or moved around individually.
