View 1 RepliesIs there a way, maybe by script, to have a paragraph style include some default text?
For example, if I assign an empty paragrahp the Note style, It would display as formated, but would include the string "NOTE:"^t (i.e. NOTE: with a tab character following).
or perhaps the style Caution might display as formatted with the word caution in all caps underline (CAUTION) followed by a forced line break (^n).
I have big document with a lot of headers and subheaders that I need to move around. It's too big of a job to do it manually so I want to use paragraph styles for this but I can't seem to find where to set this. Is it even possible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan the "Basic Paragraph" style in Paragraph Styles be modified? How is this done?
I can bring up the Paragraph Styles Options diaglog by double clicking "Basic Paragraph" in the Paragraph Styles panel. I can also modify it, for example, by changing the font family. But when I click OK to save it, it creates a new style and leaves "Basic Paragraph" unchanged.
I know that the Basic Paragraph style can be modified in InDesign, but I don't see how to do it in Photoshop.
I have a large book similar to the "Yellow Pages" and all of the business names are in the same Paragraph style. I need to index alphabetically. I done it for the first time last year and accomplished it through Table of Contents(TOC) I saved it in my How to and when I tried to do it again this year it's problematic, not only putting my business in alpha but also putting my page numbers in alpha (they don't match up).
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to rearrange character or paragraph styles in Photoshop CS6? I've tried everything I could think of (Control, Command, Shift click etc.) to no avail. Rather frustrated as it's annoying having a messy styles palette but clean layers.
If this isn't an option why not implement it to function the same as the Layers Palette?
I know that there is another issue here but I wanted to write down an other. Because it seems to me Adobe DO NOT answer to these issues. I can not use Paragraph&Character styles because those tool are made to tell us "please don't use this because this tool just for show off for new CS6 and not working actually".

I was working with a lot of text, using the trailing space attribute on the toolbar. This appeared (along with leading space and other attributes) whenever I selected a text object.
How can I get it to appear again?
I am formatting a Bible for a client. The text was provided with verse numbers before each verse, but each chapter is one long paragraph. Now the client has decided they want each verse to begin a new paragraph. How can I globally insert an End of Paragraph mark before each superscrpt verse number?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI trying to use GREP within a paragraph style to bold the title of a listing at the start of a paragraph. I want to limit it to the first set of quotation marks, and leave any other characters within quotes in that paragraph un-bolded.
I used the expression below, which i thought would start at the beginning of a paragraph (^), left quotation mark (~{), any character, any number of times (.+), followed by a right quotation mark (~}), followed by a space (s), zero or one times, shortest match (+?).
^~{.+~}s+?
Unfortunately, it bolds everything through the next right quotation mark. What can I add to the expression to restrict the GREP to find just the first set of quotes? These would be titles that may have multiple words or numbers in the title.

I am working on a document - about 100 pages, mostly text with a couple of images.
Unfortulatly Indesign keeps crashing when I change the settings in the paragraph styles. eg changing the indents on a list item, or the amount of space before on the body text.
I am on Indesign creative cloud, and Mac Version 10.9.2
I have to define the outline weight in my paragraph style to - let's say - 12 pt. How do I manage that? I can only choose from a predefined list, which is unsufficient.
It used to work in CS4, as you can see in the following screenshot.
I'm working with Mac, by the way, and I was told that this "bug" is not occuring on Windows..
I finally paid one of those conversion companies to convert this QuarkXPress file that I was working with to InDesign, since InDesign seems like such a better program. Everything seemed to transfer over smoothly, and I have now been editing this document in InDesign. Unfortuantely, after a bunch of new edits, I realized the one thing that didn't seem to transfer over was the index. The old Quark file had an index with about 900+ entries in it. Is there any quick way to add all those entries back without having to go through the document and highlight the text manually, one by one by one? That would take forever. Pretty much everything that's gonna be indexed is after a paragraph marker of the paragraph style called "gray box."
Also, since each entry is bold, it was set up as having a paragraph style named "title." If IND could find anything with that style and add it as an entry, that may make my job way easier? Or will I be stuck selecting text over the next day and manually adding entries?
I would like to assign keyboard shortcuts for functions inside the paragraph styles panel in PS CS6. It seems that no option to do this is exposed - is this correct?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI go to Tools > Options > Paragraph Text Frame and untick 'show text frames'. I then go to Document and tick 'Save options as default....'. Restart. No change, I still see a red dotted line around the text frames. How do you turn these off? If I can't do that, can I at least change the colour?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIndesign is a great tool to create responsive sites and obviously handles text better than photoshop. Being able to import text styles from indesign in photoshop would allow me to quicky rebuild comps in photoshop for my developers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use my Object Styles palette all the time. I moved it to one side so that I could use two different palettes. Instead of grabbing it to move it back I accidently deleted it. How do I get it back?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently moved to CS6. My object styles panel is blank.
THe panel is there with no info inside it. When i open the same job on another machine with the same specs as mine, the artwork is fine and i can see my object styles. WHen I open old artwork that has object styles set, I cannot see them, but again are fine on another machine.
how to create a custom bullet using the bullet character style and configure it as needed. The issue I have is that I can't edit or delete a custom bullet character style once it is created. When I create a custom character style, it doesn't preview so I'm sort of guessing on things like baseline or vertical shift and things like that, so it is trial and error and then I end up with a bunch of extraneous character styles. What I really want to do is edit an existing one - is there a way to do this and I'm just missing it? And if not, can I at least delete the extra character styles?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an InDesign document, where I have defined some Object styles for my text frames - such as the size (width x hight) of the text frames, and this works fine.
I would like to do the same thing for my graphic frames, but I can't find this option. I figure it must be possible somehow?
An object style which makes the picture frame ex. 50 x 50 mm. with the picture centered in the frame.
I'm on Mac OSX 10.6.8.
I am placing a Word document into InDesign CS6, and no matter what options I choose in the import options, the font styles are not imported into InDesign At the same time, InDesign CS3 imports all the styles perfectly from any Word file.
Every time I purge my drawing several plot styles show to be deleted. I don't reconize them, one I see offten is called Invisible ink. I started to try to use it to see what its about. I can't seem to find the right track and use this plot style.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just started using the new Indesign CC and one of the features that I miss is the blue outline that would appear around textboxes. It would allow me see where my text was and move it around. The new Indesign CC displays text, but with no outline around the text, which makes it difficult to re-adjust the box size and move around my text.
Is there a way to enable the text box outline to show when designing (not when printing) as the previous verisons of InDesign did?
I am trying to set-up point and point label styles to show trees on a survey plan. The point styles is set with a block, and a label is a regular label style that shows a point number and elevation. The problem comes when the label is positioned outside of the block that represents the point. What I need is sort of fixed offset from the center of the point.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do update the styles library to keep from getting the Styles Conflict error box. I have used the Standard.dwg file that loaded with Inventor 2012 but everytime I change styles and save the changes in a new template in reverts back to the library definitions.
I used to be able to select 'NO' in the LIbrary option of the Projects Folder but that optiion no longer exists.
We've created a new parts list style for a border. When the border tempalt file is on the c: drive...everything works hunky dory...parts list, revision tables, etc.But as soon as we copy and paste that border into the template library folder for new drgs...the parts list style is missing from the local styles?
So to make it appear on the new document...the style manager has to be set at all styles and the new parts list style has to be saved to the document? What aren't we doing to make it appear on the template?
Also note that because the drawing border template is in a template folder as part of the design projects...it is NOT editable...so it has to be edited outside the template folder.
I have a few styles in my Presets/Styles folder but they don't show up when I try to load them from the Preset Manager --
