I use my Object Styles palette all the time. I moved it to one side so that I could use two different palettes. Instead of grabbing it to move it back I accidently deleted it. How do I get it back?

I've recently moved to CS6. My object styles panel is blank.
THe panel is there with no info inside it. When i open the same job on another machine with the same specs as mine, the artwork is fine and i can see my object styles. WHen I open old artwork that has object styles set, I cannot see them, but again are fine on another machine.
I have an InDesign document, where I have defined some Object styles for my text frames - such as the size (width x hight) of the text frames, and this works fine.
I would like to do the same thing for my graphic frames, but I can't find this option. I figure it must be possible somehow?
An object style which makes the picture frame ex. 50 x 50 mm. with the picture centered in the frame.
Once an object is converted to a button how can it be changed back (have the button properties removed?) There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do this, but I can't imagine Adobe hasn't allowed for this...

There is a horizontal rule below my last style listing in the flyout menu before it starts listing them again? Loading a style from either list works. I have done a search on my hard drive and on one file exists for each style .asl file.

This feature works on the other palettes.

Is there a way, maybe by script, to have a paragraph style include some default text?
For example, if I assign an empty paragrahp the Note style, It would display as formated, but would include the string "NOTE:"^t (i.e. NOTE: with a tab character following).
or perhaps the style Caution might display as formatted with the word caution in all caps underline (CAUTION) followed by a forced line break (^n).
I have big document with a lot of headers and subheaders that I need to move around. It's too big of a job to do it manually so I want to use paragraph styles for this but I can't seem to find where to set this. Is it even possible?
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to create a custom bullet using the bullet character style and configure it as needed. The issue I have is that I can't edit or delete a custom bullet character style once it is created. When I create a custom character style, it doesn't preview so I'm sort of guessing on things like baseline or vertical shift and things like that, so it is trial and error and then I end up with a bunch of extraneous character styles. What I really want to do is edit an existing one - is there a way to do this and I'm just missing it? And if not, can I at least delete the extra character styles?

Is there a way to exclude single attributes from being defined in a object style? As example: i want to define an outline that does not change width of the objects, but everything else.
There is a small tick box right of every attribute with help text "None this object attribute is not defined by a custom style" but i can not mark it. My feeling is, that i need to switch on this tick box to get the result i need, but i can not. When i click on it, it just gives me a greyed out "Revert". When i try to make child styles, there is a way to break the connection to parent style with these tick boxes, but no luck.
Is it a bug? I tried it with X6, X6.1 and X6.2
I'm on Mac OSX 10.6.8.
I am placing a Word document into InDesign CS6, and no matter what options I choose in the import options, the font styles are not imported into InDesign At the same time, InDesign CS3 imports all the styles perfectly from any Word file.
When opening a document in InDesign CS6 it says the program has stopped and has to close. When I go to open the document again, it says the document might have been damaged.
Also, when I am finally in the document and select the text tool, I can only type text, it won't let me change the font color or do anything for that matter. I can't even change back to the selection tool.
I am new to In Design having come from years with QuarkXpress. I need to put an 8 page owners manual together. The front & back pages have to be set up properly for the printer. How is this don in ID?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter a little while the color palette suddenly became glaringly fluorescent and no amount of rebooting could get my original color palette back. After that I opened the Palette Editor under Tools and fiddled around the Sort button settings there. This changed the order I was seeing the colors in my palette which stayed as fluorescent as ever and the original sequence would not come back no matter what I did. I read up a bit and played around with the Color Management settings-in vain. As a last resort I have uninstalled and installed the program again-to no avail! What should I do? I tried the F8 start as well-that didn't work either.

I used to go: TOOLS > DRAWING ORDER, in order to bring an object to the back or the front of another object.
Now that we are using AM 2012, I can't find where this command is located.
A lot of times I'll be working on multiple .psd files and as I'm moving between files I'll notice that all the layers & layer comps will disappear from their palette

I can bring them back by doing something like clicking on the text tool and then clicking on a text item on the stage. It's annoying because it takes a couple of clicks for the palette(s) to redisplay.
Is this a bug or is there a setting in preferences that can control this?
This time, my color palette that was on the right side of my screen is gone. How do I get it back on there?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have added a 4 Panel Sliding Door from the standard Revit family. I would now like to only change the colour of the frame in lets say my north elevation. My understand is that this would be done by overriding the frame material via Manage>Object Styles>Doors>Frame/Mullion, then applying a new material.
I have made sure that my shade colour is set to the correct RGB value, and in my north elevation I have my Visual Style set to shaded.
Why am I not seeing the new shaded colour?
Is it possible to move a wall to a different object style?
Im currently setting out a toilet suite and would like to place the cubicle partitions in a more appropriate object style.
