Photoshop :: Video Layers Go Invisible

A friend asked me to make an animated forum signature for him but their forum has a rule the sig size must be 650x200.
So i thought i would fit it in my own 650x200 signature and cutting everything outside that out using the wand tool on every layer (125) I made them visible cut out the outskirts and made it invisible again one by one , with the little eye next to the layer.
After u import Video frames to layers only the first one is visible , but in order to cut in a layer i needed to make it visible , and apperently after u make a layer visible its invisible in the saving (Save for Web option) After i was finished all i had left with was one layer that was visibile the other 5 seconds were just invisible

how to fix this , i ran into it a couple of times now its getting pretty annoying.

I'm using CS6 and noticed that whenever I delete a layer that was a dupe of another layer with links (although not linked specifically to the deleted layer), the undeleted original layers become invisible on the canvas even though they are still visible in the layers pallette. I've been able to recreate this several times. Nothing I do will make the layers visible -I've tried moving them all to the top of the layers palette, making sure their opacity is 100%, making sure there are no layer effects, etc.

if there is a plugin or a way to select all the invisible layers from a photoshop file autmatically with just one click?This would be really handy when it comes to huge photoshop files with lots of folders & layers...

For some time now i experience a really strange problem with my layer masks: the parts of a layer I hide with a black layer mask are still slightly visible in my picture - like these pixels still have an opacity of about 5%. The colour in the mask is definitly black and not dark grey (this was my first guess what could be wrong). I have no idea when this problem started, but I believe it was not there when I started to use CS6 (which I still do and on which the problem appears).

I can't find a way in Gimp 2.4 to delete all invisible layers, is there one?
When working with a slightly complex file I use to have multiple layers which I show, hide and duplicate as needed. After a while my layers dialog gets cluttered and I need to delete layers I don't need anymore, most of these layers are invisible and going one by one to delete takes much time, an option to remove all invisible layers would be great.
There's an option to delete invisible layers on "Image > Merge Visible Layers" but this, as the name says, merges all other layers.

I'm using Gimp 2.8.4 and when selecting a new layer to work on, it then switches to another layer which becomes the selected one.The only way I can definitely select the layer I want to work on is to make all other layers invisible.

I recently started having this problem in Photoshop CS6 where using the transform or selection tools makes all the layers other than my background layer disappear so I can't see what I'm selection or transforming. This happens randomly out of nowhere. I can be using those tools all day with no problem, and then out of nowhere it starts making things invisible.
There doesn't seem to be any other programs running that would cause it (not that that should be an issue, my computer could easily run all my Adobe programs at once if I wanted it to), and the only thing that seems to fix it so far is restarting Photoshop. But that gets old really fast when I have to do it over and over again. I tried calling Adobe, but somehow they're always closed, even during their supposed hours of operation.

To reduce file size when working with 100+ layers, can I delete multiple invisible layers before saving?
If not, is there a plug-in for this procedure? For a multi-page tutorial with over 100 layers, pdn is slow when opening or saving the file. I would like to save each page of the tutorial as a separate .pdn file for faster loading/editing/saving. Unfortunately, to save each individual page, I must delete many layers one-at-a-time which is very time consuming.
I need to delete all invisible layers before saving, to save each page separately and keep the original multi-page intact for backup until all individual pages are saved.

I have been working on a detailed section drawing in AutoCad 2013
I saved the file in different files as i gone along, I have been trying to open the file everytime i do all the layers are there but only two are visible all the other seem to be invissible.
I tried it with each file on different computers, same version of AutoCad no success.
It apears that in the preview before opening the file it is all there but when actually opening the file its only a random two layers that come up, missing around 10 others which have the majority of the drawing /details on there.
I tried the unhide, changing line weights in the layer menu, opening the back ups. is there anything else I can try.

I am working on my xref file and all of a sudden in my layer properties, all of my layers are missing. It's as if they are still there but invisible, I put my cursor over them and a box comes up with the layer, but I still can not see it or modify it.

Okay so I've tried everything and even reinstalled my photoshop cs6 and it is still giving me some trouble when i want to make an animated gif from my video that is only 4 seconds long.
Anyway when i click on file and scroll down to import and scroll to the video frames to lay and the impot video to layers pops up and it shows my full video but the top part is black however you can see the video on the bottom half just the top part of the video is black. How can i go about fixing this problem ?

On CS5 and CS6, I've easily been able to make gifs, but now in my CS4 extended, there is no option under IMport to do video frames to layers. I also can not open ay gifs or get the animation toolbar.

I am trying to render a video from layers I made from a quicktime. The problem is that all of the layers are on top of each other and take up the whole length of time instead of each being one frame sequentially after each other. So, when I render or do a DPX sequence it is only one frame played for 6 seconds. There are 167 layers (frames) so I would rather not have to adjust each layer back one frame at a time.Â

This used to work, but now I can't find any way to import videos into Photoshop to make GIFs. When I go to import a video, mp4s are greyed out but I can still select avi files.

When I select an avi file, the preview comes up blank. When it imports, every layer is black. This feature used to work perfectly, but now it won't work at all! The avi files play fine in Quicktime Player, for which I have the Perian add-on.

i am trying to make a gif but i try using import video frames to layers and each time it always say could not complete the video frames to layers command because QuickTime 7.1 or later is required. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and i also have QuickTime. Im using windows.

I rendered a PSD sequence from Cinema 4D to do some manual texturing, I added some object buffers to make it less painfull as it's going to be frame by frame.

When I open 1 single frame I can see my object buffers in the channels, when I open my sequence I just get R, G, B, RGB.

When importing a rather large file, it is taking the space up on my C: drive which is an SSD and doesn't have a ton of room. By chance, is there a way to change it, so that photoshop will use the space on my secondary drive instead?

I'm trying to upload an AVI file to make a GIF, but whenever I go to File-Import-Video Frames to Layers all of my layers are blank. When I tried to play the click in QuickTime it told me to download an extension or something. I downloaded Xvid, but still it's not working.

I just bought a Macbook Pro, OS X 10.8.4 and installed Photoshop CS4 on it, but when I select import video frames to layers and search for a video, they appear but I can't select any videos. I have the latest version of Quicktime and the videos play fine. I can still use photoshop with photos so it seems like it's just this one function that isn't working. It works on my sister's older Macbook pro though (she hasn't got Mountain Lion though, it's snow leopard OS X 10.6.8), and the only time it didn't work was when there wasn't enough space on the computer but I have over 670GB of available space.

im having this problem with the "File > Import > Video Frames to Layers" the box comes up like this:
as you can see the box is white, the file i have imported if MP4 and iv tryed this with 2 files now, and get the smae thing, iv also tryed ans mov file the which dose show a preview but it still showd the black bar at the bottom and no time bar and such

it's Photshop CS5 that im useing running on 64bit windows 8, i was priviously runing 32bit windows 8 and and this worked fine, then upgraded to 64bit and now this problem has occoured

Now it appears you need to make each video layer a maximum of 5 seconds. Document settings doesn't resolve this problem. I've found out how to extend the timeline but, crucially, not the length of individual video layers beyond 5 seconds.

I'm trying to import part of a .mpg file using Import Video Frames To Layers. I only want a very small part of the clip but the slider in the import window appears to be missing. I need this to work, does anyone have a (re)solution please. This functioned fine in all previous versions of PS I've used. I need this functionality in order to work. Screenshot attached. Each time I make an attempt to import video frames to layers, I get as far as the "select range to import" screen, and then when I select the range and click ok, it says "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly." And then it closes.

I have PS CS6 and when I click on File> Import> Video Frames to Layers.. Next, the window that says "Initializing Video Import" starting to load and always get stuck and that's what appears: "Could not complete the video frames to layers command because the DynamicLink Media Server is not available". That's with aaaall the videos.

I've been trying with File> Open but that's what says "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".

I've been searching for an answer for a while now, and I still can't seem to make this work. I'm trying to make gifs. I'm using a Mac and I've already switched my CS5 to a 32-bit version, but the video is greyed out even though it's an mp4 and won't let me import the video.
