Feb 11, 2004I've made a logo in Photoshop 7.0 with transparent texture and I've saved it in BMP ,PNG,JPEG.... formats. But this logo (in these formats) have got white background. Why?

Photoshop :: CS6 Fade Out Texture To Transparent
Mar 8, 2013I have never had this issue until CS6. I do have a Retina Macbook Pro too. Basically though, I'm building a website and need to fade out a texture to transparent. I usually do this and it works fine, but right now it is going almost straight to transparent it isn't a smooth gradual gradient.

Mar 14, 2013I'm coming from Fireworks.A technique I use often in my ui work is to combine a texture with a gradient that fades the gradients color and the pattern to transparent.
In Fireworks, this can be done on a single layer with no mask. The transparency of the gradient affects the pattern.This is not the case in Photoshop. I am wondering how I can accomplish the same thing in Photoshop, while keeping everything vector.

Jun 29, 2013I am trying to apply texture to a design of mine that needs to be transparent through the art- so you could see the background through the texture holes if you will. I've tried combining the objects, merging them, diving them, excluding them, and minusing the front. I know the answer is probably one of them, I'm just probably not doing it right. Below is the art I'm trying to do this to, the white is the texture that I want to be joined with the art and made transparent.

Nov 5, 2012For my 3D scene, I have to use a texture file on the floor. If I use the only file, than it looks really boring and below par. What I want is, I want to generate some (around 6-8) texture files within the original texture file - so the colors of all the texture files remain same but only the texture varies.Likewise there are more than 500 texture files and I just can't do them manually. Is there any way out to do this in Photoshop?

Mar 4, 2012I have a lava texture and a ground texture. I'd like to be able to make some cracks on the ground texture that would show through the lava texture below it. Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?
I guess a spider web where the spider was on crack would be something I'm looking for. Similar to the following image:

Dec 7, 2012I am working on a Mac (Snow Leapord) with Photoshop CS6. When I try to save a sliced and transparent PSD in the Save For Web dialog box with PNG-24, the transparency dissapears once exported. I have the transparency and interlaced boxes both checked. The images appear transparent in the Optimized Save for Web dialog box, but the transparency dissapears once exported out of Photoshop.
I never had a problem with this when I was using CS4...

I have create a new layer that is transparent, but the background color on my website does not go thru it. The background color of this image appears to be grayish not transparent.

Jan 30, 2013Hey, I'm having troubles with applying a gradient tool to a rectangular marquee in Photoshop CS3 for Mac OS X 5.8. Instead of getting a black color to fade into the background, I just get the black color.
And I'm click and dragging about 1.5 inches long. Sometimes I end up covering the entire picture with that color, not just the object (even though the object is selected). Gradient maps and layer masks don't seem to work.

Nov 24, 2008I have a solid gray filled region that is set to be transparent that is not being transparent. We are trying to put a gray tone over the existing area of the plan. what is weird is that I did the exact same thing to another view & it works perfectly with the region in the background & all the wals & doors showing up correctly. I can't figure out what is different between one view & another.
I've tried changing the filled region to be "moved to back" but nothing changes. if I override the graphics of the element & change it to be transparent the it goes away all together.

Nov 1, 2012I tried searching the forums for "Transparent Grid" and "Transparent Hex", but I could not find anything.I would like to create an image which is a Transparent Grid or Hex which I could lay over other images, like maps for roleplaying games.
I tried to use the eraser tool to remove all the white space from the image "TransparentHexes.png" (see attached). It was long and labor intensive, but when I tried to copy the image and lay it over another image, it removed the transparent parts and made them white space again, completely covering the underlaying image.
Perhaps there is a way to use the "Paint Bucket" to replace white with transparent? And how do I lay a mostly transparent grid over another image?

Jun 1, 2005I have a cylindrical object that I want to map a brick wall texture to.
How is this achieved?
I use a CAD program to make my basic object, then I rotate it (as best as I can) to achieve perspective. Then, I do a screen grab, and prepare to use the object in photoshop as my reference.
I also have a sample of the brick (actually stone) pattern that I want to sample.

Apr 22, 2013I have a project open in a 3d view to paint on a 3d mesh. Everything is fine until I save, close, and reopen. When I open the file to resume I can no longer paint on the model. I can still go to the UV (flat) view for any of the materials on the model but I can't paint on the mesh in 3d view.
I can open a new 3d layer, re-import the mesh, save and reapply all the previously painted texture to the new mesh layer and keep working but this seems not a very efficient work-flow.
I don't think many 3d pros actually use this piece of PS for texturing.This is the first time I've tried the 3d functionality of PS so I may just be overlooking something.

Oct 2, 2012I have some jpeg files that I would like to use as textures. As I understand it the Patterns folder is the same as the Textures so I am assuming this is where I need to place Texture files.However, I cannot seem to find any instruction regarding the use of .jpegs as textures/patterns.
Do, I just drag (from downloads) and drop the .jpegs into the Patterns folder like I would with a .pat file?I read a thread that said it's a pretty difficult process to convert/change a jpeg into a pat file ..is that true? Well, so how to make a pat outta a jpeg?
