To optimize the performance of Photoshop, you should consider these things. This work best for me and you might consider trying these tips.
*You need to have a higher capacity of Memory
*Tons of RAM
*Try to set up a scratch disk
*Fast Processor
*By customizing your system so it runs efficiently, you can increase the amount of memory available to applications.
*Disable plug-ins that are not in use
*Switch off the thumbnail previews in the tool palettes never looks at these anyway and, if you name them accurately, you will not need to look at the preview either. This saves memory and processor power each time you add and update a layer.
*Keep your 5000+ fonts anywhere but in your font folder
*You can minimize the size of your files by reducing their resolution, Increasing the resolution of an image does not always improve the quality of the image, but may instead only increase its file size.
I work for a small design/build firm that works primarily on large, custom residential buildings. The majority of our design work is done in 2D because the majority of our plans come in 2D from the architects.
I was wondering what the best way to speed up our duct drawing would be? We are currently running MEP 2014 but only use it for the straight cad portion of it. We don't have any blocks for the fittings or routines to draw multiple lines at once. We are open to pretty much anything at this point, whether it's developing or purchasing a set of blocks, lisp routines, plug-ins, etc.
SO what is everyone say, trick about speeding up constrain execution. I have started working on this new project with 2013. And i'm finding myself losing alot of time. Basicly what i do is insert part from our database or content center and assemble them. So 80% of my activities on inventor are constraints. Right now i have this assemblies 175 / 156(small to me). And executing a constraint is minimum 4 seconds each time. If you consider that about 3 contraint is needed for each piece and final total part will probably be around 1000. i'm losing alot of time here
Yeah, i am not using preview. Why is inventor recalculating that much each time? Is it doing a rebuilt after each constraint?
What have you done that really increase the excution time of constraints?
Workstaion is Windows 7 64bit Intel Extreme i7cpu I975 @ 3,33 12bg ram 4 ssd in Raid stripping.Nvidia FX3800 Inventor 2013 SP1
i recorded video in 60fps, but the camera automatically converted video in 29,9fps, so it made the video slow-mo. But now i want the video in original 100% speed and 60fps (í want to use twixtor at some parts, so 60fps is needed). I use after fx 5.5 and sony action cam.
I don't have any tool tips popping up even though it is turned on in preferences.I am using windows 7 64 bit I have the latest cs5 update. using photohop version 12.0.4 x64
I've tried restarting but still the same.I know it was a problem for some win xp users and v12.0.3 update fixed this I believe.any win 7 users having same issue?
My classroom is running CS5. We just started working in Photoshop. Tool Tips only display for a few minutes, then stop working. Show Tool Tips is checked in preferences. How can I get Tool Tips to work consistently? I have read some info about an update called 12.0.3 and one called 12.0.4.
I am trying to do a realistic burnt edge effect, I have looked at all the tutorials I could find. But they just seem to come out... Alright.
Anyone have any examples of one and tips they used to create it or links or anything that might help? Driving me insane trying to do this and im not getting very far with it..
Before everyone recommends search. I just thought I would start a thread that gives specific insight and opinions from others on how to do these things. We all know painting with light, lens flares etc.. But there are many other tricks some have pointed and I would basically like people to expose those and just chime in on how they would achieve some of these effects and keep it in one thread. I scavanaged around on a few other theads on started early about mixtape style covers, but this question wasn't really answered.
I don't care for Mixtapes, but I think that the artists behind them do a very good job of catching the eye and do a great job of mixing simple effects to make a a scne come to life.
I just installed my new Photoshop CS2 and transferred all my plug-ins and other stuff from Photoshop 7 folder, but I cannot seem to transfer all the saved actions that I have on the 7 and that's bad. I have saved quite a few important for me sets of edits that I most frequently use with my images as actions and I apply them with a single click. I need to find out how to transfer them into my new version if possible.
System is updated--using Windows XP Pro service pack 3, latest video driver, plenty of RAM. And in Preferences--Interface--Show Tool Tips is indeed selected. Whenever my pointer hovers over anything, no tips are displayed. Tool Tips worked fine in CS3.
I am a paratrooper who runs a few veteran websites, I am interested in doing some sites that use the new digital type camo. The Army ACU pattern in particular to start. Does anyone have any tips/tricks on how to use photoshop to create the ACU digital pattern camo.
Anytime I try to cutout a piece of an image and paste it into another image, the final result always turns out bad. It looks exactly like what it is...a cutout pasted onto another image.
Are there any good tips or tutorials on what to do to an image cutout to make it blend more seamlessly into another image?
I scanned a color image from a newspaper, so of course it's pretty grainy. I've done things like despeckle, which helped a bit, and some other filters to get rid of noise and such but I was wondering if anyone had any useful tips for improving newspaper images? (i.e., get rid of the grainy look from the high dot content, just make it look cleaner)
I'd be grateful for any tips anyone has for processing some photos to look in some way like these photos from the 1940s (including any possible effects aging has had) :
To begin with, I've read in various places that desaturating is not always the best way to change a colour photo to B&W, depending on the results you're after, and I'm thinking that perhaps this might be one of those times ?
I'm confused by these two brush tips. I have CS2 and in the Edit / Preferences / Display & Cursors there is the Normal Brush Tip and the Full Size Brush Tip. The Normal shows that the cursor corresponds to about 100%of the area it draws; the Full Size shows that it is bigger than the area it draws.
Two questions:-
1. What is the use for this latter cursor?
2. Why does it say in the User Guide and the Help that the Normal "corresponds to approximately 50% of the area that the tool will affect" and the Full Size "corresponds to nearly 100% of the area that the tool will affect"?
Mighty puzzling, although it has already been acknowledged that the User Guides are poor. Is this an example or am I missing something?
Adobe Elements 11 Editor: The MARQUEE for the brush tips aften disappears! The only solution that I have found is to shut the computer down then start up again. Is there a fix for this problem without shutting everything down?
Did you notice that when trying to grab a node on the audio line (especially near the end of the clip) the graphic tip that pops up saying "Delete the control by dragging outside the clip" ACTUALLY PREVENTS ONE FROM GRABBING THE DARN NODE TO DO ANYTHING WITH IT ! (Just shouting at my own computer here).
Is it my computer putting these annoying popup tips on the screen or is there a way in VS to turn them off.
When I open a CDR 12 file in Corel X6 all the tips of the arrows I have drawn disappear. This is a very annoying issue because my graphs contain mostly vectors.
where the tool tips for grips on polylines have gone in 2012? The stretch, add, delete and the convert to arc. I have a feeling that a setting has changed and I can't find it.
How to turn off the tool tips that keep showing up in the upper right hand corner. We are on ACA 2013. He tried hitting the "Don't show me this again" option and it didn't work. How I turn this off?
I can't turn off the develop module tip window in lightroom 4 with out closing down LM. I have tryed (commond /) and just get another window to pop-up.
