I am trying to do a realistic burnt edge effect, I have looked at all the tutorials I could find. But they just seem to come out... Alright.
Anyone have any examples of one and tips they used to create it or links or anything that might help? Driving me insane trying to do this and im not getting very far with it..
I've just taken this pic, and I would like to give it that extra something by adding borders...kind of like burnt in edges. But the thing is that I hate the burn in tool in Photoshop...the texture is veru unnatural.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have burnt a DVD from an .mpg file. The file itself play fine in VSX2PRO as well as computer media players.
The burnt DVD plays fine on the computer as well.
When I play it on a DVD player & TV I lose about 6 or 7 percent of the picture edges all the way round. I have tried it in 3 different DVD player/TV combinations with same results.
I have tried burning with VS itself & Nero - same results. It is relevant as the file is of still with text that goes very close to the edge.
I don't know if this belongs in the advanced techniques forum or not, I guess that kind of depends on the answers
I just want to make a semi jagged edge of wood that looks like it was burnt. like as if a portion of a table had been burnt off.
I am trying to create an effect that will make letters appear to have been burned into wood - I created a wooden board in photoshop with the help of EyeCandy 4000, found the right color and texture for the lettering, but I cannot get the letters to appear burnt INTO the wood. Used EyeCandy's "bevel boss" but now matter how I manipulate the curve, it always looks like the letters are on top of, instead of burned into, the background.

I make 360 panoramas, and I have a series of .jpg digital pictures taken inside, some of which contain 'burnt out' windows. I have however also taken an identical picture exposing correctly for the outside lighting.
I wish to replace the 'burnt out' windows with the properly exposed ones.
I have got as far as cropping the outside shot and placing it underneath the inside shot and using the eraser to make it show through. It seems to work quite well, but my problem is the saved file size. The originals are approx 1.5Mb, but after doing the above, the file size goes beyond double the original .. which I can't seem to fathom. I don't understand why this should be so, and when it will come to stitching the 12 images, they need to be roughly the same file size (and exact dimensions).
I need to create a logo that looks like a branding iron just burned the text onto something...
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the past I was able to download a slideshow of photos that was burnt to a dvd and play it on the TV with the use of the dvd player.I have upgraded to windows 7 home premium .I have purchased VIDEOSTUDIO PRO 5 X..I have burnt a DVD-RW and watched it on my computer but it will not work on the DVD player or TV. Should I be able to do this with my VIDEO STUDIO X5? do I have to buy more software.

Many moons ago, Kai took a few Photoshop tools to the next level. To this day, even as old as they are, a great deal of his work is still relevant.
My classroom is running CS5. We just started working in Photoshop. Tool Tips only display for a few minutes, then stop working. Show Tool Tips is checked in preferences. How can I get Tool Tips to work consistently? I have read some info about an update called 12.0.3 and one called 12.0.4.

However, I was wondering if the file is suppose to open as an HTML page instead, and I could use Wordpad to edit it?

Before everyone recommends search. I just thought I would start a thread that gives specific insight and opinions from others on how to do these things. We all know painting with light, lens flares etc.. But there are many other tricks some have pointed and I would basically like people to expose those and just chime in on how they would achieve some of these effects and keep it in one thread. I scavanaged around on a few other theads on started early about mixtape style covers, but this question wasn't really answered.
I don't care for Mixtapes, but I think that the artists behind them do a very good job of catching the eye and do a great job of mixing simple effects to make a a scne come to life.

I just installed my new Photoshop CS2 and transferred all my plug-ins and other stuff from Photoshop 7 folder, but I cannot seem to transfer all the saved actions that I have on the 7 and that's bad. I have saved quite a few important for me sets of edits that I most frequently use with my images as actions and I apply them with a single click. I need to find out how to transfer them into my new version if possible.

Tool Tips Do Not Display in Photoshop CS4
System is updated--using Windows XP Pro service pack 3, latest video driver, plenty of RAM. And in Preferences--Interface--Show Tool Tips is indeed selected. Whenever my pointer hovers over anything, no tips are displayed. Tool Tips worked fine in CS3.

Are there any good tips or tutorials on what to do to an image cutout to make it blend more seamlessly into another image?
I scanned a color image from a newspaper, so of course it's pretty grainy. I've done things like despeckle, which helped a bit, and some other filters to get rid of noise and such but I was wondering if anyone had any useful tips for improving newspaper images? (i.e., get rid of the grainy look from the high dot content, just make it look cleaner)

To begin with, I've read in various places that desaturating is not always the best way to change a colour photo to B&W, depending on the results you're after, and I'm thinking that perhaps this might be one of those times ?
I tried the following in Illustrator,
So basically, I created coloured text inside Adobe Illustrator and however much I zoom into the text, the text always appears to have smooth edges. Once I click on 'Save For Web', the edge all around the text becomes rough and aliased. I chose GIF and PNG, but it still happens. The text is on a transparency background. The same problem applies to images when I am creating a logo.
I'm confused by these two brush tips. I have CS2 and in the Edit / Preferences / Display & Cursors there is the Normal Brush Tip and the Full Size Brush Tip. The Normal shows that the cursor corresponds to about 100%of the area it draws; the Full Size shows that it is bigger than the area it draws.
Two questions:-
1. What is the use for this latter cursor?
2. Why does it say in the User Guide and the Help that the Normal "corresponds to approximately 50% of the area that the tool will affect" and the Full Size "corresponds to nearly 100% of the area that the tool will affect"?
Mighty puzzling, although it has already been acknowledged that the User Guides are poor. Is this an example or am I missing something?
