Photoshop :: Switching From IBM To Apple
May 3, 2013I am switching form IBM to Apple. How do I get my Photoshop and Lightroom to work?

View 5 RepliesI recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 9 to Lightroom 5, When I moved the catalogue over, all keywords transferred, and Albums became collections. When I used Photshop Elements, I could easily sync the Albums with my Apple Tvs to display the pictures, as well as my other Apple Devices. I can not figure out how to export the collections to the Apple devices, especially the Apple TVs. There must be a way given the power of this software.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop for about six years and CS3 since it came out, on a 2Gb RAM Dell PC with a Pentium4 3.00GHz. I use a Canon 1Ds mark III so the file sizes are quite large and I have noticed that my PC is slowing down now.
I am considering an Apple iMac with a 24" screen but hear negative comments such as differentiation of shadows and highlights is difficult to judge on the glossy screen, reflections on the glossy screen, and the difficulty of upgrading in a couple of years time as it slows and programmes become more RAM and processor greedy.
The other option for the same money is a Chillblast Fusion Photo which with 1 Ter of hard drive in three ports, 8Gbs RAM and a 24 " DELL HD screen is a formidable combination with future adaptability available.
On the other hand I get fed up with the quirks of a PC system with Microsoft operating system that we are all familiar with, which seems to be avoided with the Apple system. I suppose I could use the new computer with nothing on it other than Photoshop and keep this prsent computer for Windows and Internet use?
My apple-space bar combo for zooming in quickly on a fixed point just doesn't work in CS6 which is more irritating than I would have thought possible. Any simple way of fixing it and/or are Adobe likely to reinstate it with any updates?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add a face to an apple so that the face takes on the same contours/shading of the apple (I'm not trying to morph the face with the apple; I'm just trying to add a face on it, possibly like a reflection). I tried using the 'sphere' filter on the face but just couldn't get it to match the apple. Right now it just looks like I layered a flat picture to the apple and lowering the transparency didn't help.

Is Adobe CS 5 compatible with Apple OS X Lion?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAdobe CS3 is still crashing on the iMac (10.6.8 Snow Leopard). For example, it will not process multiple raw (dng) or jpg files from Bridge through Photoshop. I deactivated and reinstalled Adobe CS3 on the iMac. I did save the preferences for Dreamweaver, Bridge, and Photoshop before uninstalling.

I get this message every time and Photoshop freexes and must be Force Quit.io error: general photoshop error occurred. this functionality may not be available in this version of photoshop. - (no additional information available> : 1798

I got Adobe CS3 to work on the MacBook (10.6.8 Snow Leopard) after reinstating it again from the external hard drive and on the new MacBookPro (Apple OS 10.8.4 Mountain Lion).
If your scanner manufacturer does not support scanning in 64-bit mode, or you have issues scanning with TWAIN, you can scan into Photoshop CS6 using Apple’s ImageKit technology, which is built into Photoshop CS6, does not need a plug-in to be installed, and provides access to a large number of scanners.
Â
That doesn't work with my Epson Perfection V350 Photo. I wonder if it actually works with any scanner. With Photoshop CS6 have wiped out many scanners that don't have 64-bit compliant drivers, why doesn't Adobe connect with Apple's Image Capture app? Why doesn't the V350 work with the ImageKit technology alllegedly part of Photoshop CS6?
I need to download the Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) preset for Photoshopt CS6, but cannot find it anywhere on the web.
Â
I am trying my hardest to use Photoshop to process a video, using Alien Skin's Exposure 4 (my favorite plugin of all time, and a huge part of my photo workflow).I would happily use Premier, but Premiere cannot use Exposure 4.
Â
I discovered how to install the other ProRes presets here: URL....but the ProRes 422 (HQ) is not included in that download. Since I am exporting from FCPX at 422 (HQ), I do not want to suffer any degradation on the round trip to Photoshop, so I want to find the 422(HQ) preset.
Â
difference between ProRes 422, and ProRes 422 (HQ) is inconsequential, I'd be happy to hear that, as well. If that were the case, i'd just operate at regular old 422 and know that I was doing my best to protect the footage.I'm on a 5,1 MacPro running FCPX 10.8 and Photoshop CS6 v13 (trial), I also own Photoshop CS5.1
I just received my Apple Cinema Display and I connected to a PC with Windows Vista.
The Apple Display does not have an OSD menu only a briteness (+)&(-) button on the side. If I wanted to calibrate my display with i1 Display 2 I can only use it in (Easy Mode). The reason being Easy Mode doesn't have the options for white point, gamma, luminance, contrast, rgb controls or briteness.
Apple Postcards
Things have finally slowed down in my line of work (photography - weddings and anything else that I can focus on) and I'm working on updating my web site. I really like the edge effect on the Apple postcards and would like to figure out how to make this myself.
You can right click the various elements and assemble them quite nicely. My only complaint is the lower right corner on all their pages, it does not line up correctly. I'm surprised this slipped past their designers.
I want to control the drop shadow a bit more, less is better in my opinion. I also want to be able to tile the edge, create a small portion and be able to overlap and create whatever sizes I want.
I also like the shading on the cut edges, the slight discoloration.
I am looking for a simple line art- type apple for a preschool project I'm doing.
I tried drawing one with the pen tool, didn't work so good. I did a search, try looking for *apple* on the internet.
I like to create some tire tracks, like the ones Apple had for its iPod advertising month ago… --> white background, tire tracks behind the iPod... (sorry, I didn't find the image)
Basically, I need to align tire tracks to a path. I’d like to have 3 pairs of tracks, 2 are wiggly like a drunken driver would cause, and 1 pair is straight, also on a white background.
Will Photoshop CS 4 extended work with Apple Mac Mountain Lion?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis has been bugging me for a while since I can never get it quite right :( I'd like to be able to add 1px borders to shapes that actually look good. I've seen them on Apple's site and I've tried to replicate them with no success. Mine never look this good... they're either too pixelated or too wide. Here's a screenshot of what I'm trying to replicate: ....

I am using Video Studio V12.0.98.0 (Pro X2)
I can successfully output an .mpg file for a Windows 7 laptop attached to a LG BX324 Projector [URL]
I use Share | Create Video File | HDV | HDV 1080i 50i for HDV option to achieve this.
I would like to output a movie suitable for an Apple Computer, in frame height 1080 x 1440, as this presentation is for a lecture theatre.
Currently, I do not have access to this Apple computer. I am trying to play a movie generated by Video Studio on my Win 7 PC using my Windows QuickTime Player 7.7.1.
May I ask, is this the way I can test if I can successfully generate a movie suitable for an Apple computer using my Win7 PC?
I've been stumbling around with the share options, but all I seem to be generating is movies of a small size e.g 576 x 720.
Which Share settings should I be using for movie of 1080 x 1440?
I've been trying to make the apple from a photoshop tutorial I found - couldn't find one on how to do it in Gimp. Here's a link to it link.
The problem I've got is I can't work out how to get the recess/depression at the top of the apple to work? - as I don't know the proper name for it I'll just say the bit where the stalk comes out.
Some of the other stuff don't work to well. I had to increase most of the blur numbers to get a reasonable look, and no way can I figure out how to reshape the apple or the window reflection./ I've tried using the perspective tool and a few others but to no avail.
Here's a copy of the xcf to take a look, or to use it to make own apple.
The blue layer is a extra added by me. I hope to be able to make a blue/black apple as the final product. For some reason I can't add the xcf, tried a couple of times but no joy.
