Dec 31, 2013I recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 9 to Lightroom 5, When I moved the catalogue over, all keywords transferred, and Albums became collections. When I used Photshop Elements, I could easily sync the Albums with my Apple Tvs to display the pictures, as well as my other Apple Devices. I can not figure out how to export the collections to the Apple devices, especially the Apple TVs. There must be a way given the power of this software.

Nov 19, 2012Cannot find picture when transferring from Aperture to PSE 11...I have an older version of PSE and when I transferred a picture from Aperture to PSE9 it would open PSE9 and show the picture.
I set the Preps in Aperture for PSE 11 and the PSE 11 opens but no picture in the box or photo bin or in the top left "open".I changed the Aperture setting to the PSE Organizer and the same thing happened Organizer open BUT there was no picture to be found.
In Aperture it shows the file being transferred.I looked in the PSE 11 preps and file but could not find anything.The fact that it opens the PSE 11 app tells me it is being recognized but the picture (file) is going somewhere else.

That doesn't work with my Epson Perfection V350 Photo. I wonder if it actually works with any scanner. With Photoshop CS6 have wiped out many scanners that don't have 64-bit compliant drivers, why doesn't Adobe connect with Apple's Image Capture app? Why doesn't the V350 work with the ImageKit technology alllegedly part of Photoshop CS6?

Oct 17, 2008I recently photographed a wedding. All my photos are edited and ready to be sent off to be printed into proofs. I am wanting to give my client 4x6s of each photo I took rather than a proof sheet. In order for them to be able to choose which photos they would like more prints of, I am wanting to add, in small type, the image name of each individual image in a lower corner.
I know how to accomplish this manually, however given the volume I'm dealing with I'd like an easy way to accomplish this in one fell swoop as a batch process. I have either Photoshop CS3 or Apple Aperture at my disposal.

Sep 5, 2012I installed LR on my computer, win 7, and upgrade version 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 (with all updates) but i can't import pictures, they will be on the libary but i can't see them. if i use only LR 1, no problem, it starts when i installed LR 2!? but if i import a picture this will be shown in the libary but it is not dispayed( can't see the picture, only the place where this must be seen) I did use all the updates, but still no progress? how to handle so i can work my LR 3.6 ( before I upgrade to 4.0)

I am importing photos from an Aperture export (NEF file with XML side car). The folder contained 400 photos. 200 imported correctly and 200 were blank! I deleted the blank photos with a view to reimporting them. I also deleted the folder in LR and on my Drobo to ensure the photos would not be considered duplicates. I then reimported the photos the same way I have done the others only to end up with blanks once again but this time with question marks in the top right corner.

Apr 24, 2013I am exporting approximately 25,000 images from Aperture 2.1.4 and importing them into Lightroom 4. I started working with my small projects of about 300 images to test. From Aperture, I exported the Master files with the Sidecar (IPTC4.XMP) files. [My masters are a mix of .jpgs and .NEF, and I read that the jpgs don't always carry the meta data through]. I successfully imported the master files into Lightroom and ran the "Read Metadata from File" command. I also exported the keywords file from Aperture and imported those into Lightroom as well.
Prior to exporting, I edited one file in Aperture by entering "test caption", "test location", "test keyword", "test copyright" etc. into several of the IPTC fields. These fields are NOT appearing in the equivalent Lightroom fields. I checked the .XMP file (using text edit) and it does contain the correct "test values". I am getting all of the EXIF metadata, but none of my custom values.

Aug 26, 2013We are attempting to run Lightroom in our photo journalism classes and we are unable to setup the application because it will not create the Catalog file.
All of the users in Open Directory have their OSX 10.8 home folder stored on our Apple Server. This enabled them to log into any of the computers in the lab and have access to their data/documents.
Lightroom refuses to create the Catalog file because it treats the home folder as a network folder.
My predecessor found some way around this in the past but he didn't document it and I can't find any evidence of it either.
Surely there are other people out there trying to use Adobe Products who also utilize Apple's "Open Directory" (its like apple's version of Active Directory).

Jan 19, 2014Basically the situation is that I have large number of originally RAW images (now jpegs) that look fine (to my eye) on my home computer but all take on a slight green tint when I view them through ios devices (e.g., my new macbook pro, ipad air, iphone). Wondering what's causing the difference in tints.
Background: Shooting for 6 years, all with a Canon Rebel and shot in RAW, processed in Lightroom.When I export to harddrive or photo sharing site, I set Lightroom export color space to sRGB and then export as jpegs.My home PC monitor color space also set to sRGB.When I view those exported pics via something beside my home monitor (e.g. a plasma TV), the color balance seems fine.
1. Does the color space setting in the DSLR matter? My understanding was that color settings in camera only influence jpegs from camera - - raw files carry no pre-set color space.
2. Could my monitor be out of whack or do Apple screens somehow use a different color space?

Oct 1, 2012I just started using Lightroom 4.1 Trial version (coming from Aperture). I exported JPEG versions of some images using an ICC profile. On my iMac running Lion 10.7.5 the pictures do not show a thumbnail, the file on the desktop just shows "JPEG". I could not open the file with the Preview App, but I am able to open it with DPP (Canon software)? Also the file shows that it has 0 x 0 dimentions when I click Get Info even though it is about 25 Megs in size?
The message I get is "The file “Edit-739820120223Canon EOS 7D.jpg” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."

May 1, 2009I want to make a simple animation from 3 pictures (gifs saved on my computer). I understand that I have to get these 3 pictures to be layers but I can't work out how to do that. One tutorial referred to Image>convert to editable layer but I don't see this option on my menu (using CS2). I have to admit to not having mastered layers properly yet.
I would be so grateful if someone could give a step by step description of how to import 3 different pictures and somehow get them into one animation. The ability to make simple animations would make an enormous difference to the project I am working on.

Feb 2, 2012It use to be that when I would import a picture that was larger than the current canvas size I was dealing with it, it would ask me if I wanted to enlarge the canvas size or not. Now it just automatically is changing the canvas size and it's driving me nuts because I don't want it to do that!
