View 3 RepliesI can't open CR2 files from my Canon EOS Rebel XSI. I get the warning "Photoshop cannot open this file. If you are attempting to open a raw file from a digital camera, make sure you have the latest Camera Raw update installed via > Help > Updates."
So I go to Help >Updates and update, but then get the warning that "Some components of the following products could not be updated." Listed is the PS icon and a plugin icon.
I have Lightroom and PS.
Is there an update to Camera Raw (CS4!) for the Canon EOS Rebel T3i?
Or, is there an equivelant method for opening CR2 files in PS CS4?
Can I update to Camera Raw 6.4.1 (which is when it started support for the Canon Rebel T3i) with CS4?
What do I need to process raw files in Photoshop CS5 for a Canon Rebel EOS t4i?

I have updated to the 2.4 camera raw plugin and placed it in C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop CSPlug-InsFile Formats. When I go into CS to help->about plugin -> there are two camera raws that show up. The first is labeled 3.7 (2007) and the other is labeld 2.4 (2005). Not sure where the 3.7 version is coming from, but also not sure if it matters.
What do I need to do to get CS to enable the reading of the Digital Rebel XT raw files?
I keep trying to put my CR2 files on photoshop elements 11 and I can't. It keeps saying my camera is not compatilble. I use a Canon Rebel T5i. How do I get it load? Do I need to update my program?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Canon EOS Rebel T4i and am using Photoshop Elements 11. I have successfully been uploading images, raw and jpeg until yesterday. There is no plug in sound when I wire to the USB port and my images will not upload. However, they load successfully to my laptop.
View 1 Replies View Relatedfirst let me tell you that I'm familiar with LR concepts. I read a lot about RAW processing, color profiles and stuff. It all makes sense to me.
That having said... I'm unfortunatly quite unhappy with LR's color reproduction. It seems technically very accurate; unfortunatly -- Canon's own "Standard Picture Style" (so OOC JPEGs) are in most cases much nicer to look at, color-wise. I know it's not me alone having this feeling (just do a quick search).
Adobe provides look-alike profiles (.DCP-files) which are supposed to imitate Canon's Picture Styles. Unfortunatly none of these Adobe-profiles comes close (enough, IMHO) - most annoying thing for me is a strange blue/green cast in darker areas, e.g. shadows in daylight conditions are too bright and too blueish.
Remember, I'm using a EOS 50D (which probably won't get profile updates any more by Adobe, I suppose...)
So here's my question: Can I assume that Adobe already did the best they can to match Canon's Picture Style? ==> stop dreaming about a "better" "canon-50d-standard.dcp"-file. Take it or leave it, stop crying.
Or is there a possibility to tweak existing profiles? ==> find out how. Adobe's DCP editor, dcptool, whatever?
Is there a way to get the "color map" in a Canon's picture style and use it to build a DNG profile, maybe via the DNG Profile Editor or ColorChecker Passport?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to import my raw files to lightroom 5 and convert to DNG i get a message that says: "Could not copy files to requested location." and "Files could not be written" I tried converting the files to dng using Adobe DNG converter then importing them to lightroom but they still won't work. Photoshop CS6 and Camera Raw both read the files fine. I just prefer to use Lightroom.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have attempted to both import and convert to DNG RAW files from a CF card with images taken on a brand new Canon D5 Mark III. None of the images can be imported and an attempt to install the current version of Adobe Camera RAW plug-in also failed. The error message reads "The following files were not imported because they cannot be read. (3)".
Update: I've now tried to import files from a newly-formatted SD card and am having the same problem.
I have a 5D Mk II, and just bought a 6D yesterday. I have Lightroom 4.2 on a Mac. It won't let me import the RAW files, won't show previews of them.

View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to import photos from my Canon 5D Mark III into Lightroom 4.2, the import usually freezes up at some arbitrary point. It will either crash lightroom altogether, or it will have a message saying "could not import all files, files could not be read." (something along those lines.)
I am using a 1 year old iMac with a 1 TB HD. I import directly onto that hard drive. Lightroom has never had an issue importing. My previous camera was a Canon EOS T1i. The problems started when I purchased my 5D Mark III. Images from my T1i, in fact, still import fine with no issues. I am running OS X version 10.7.5. My compact flash card is brand new, a Lexar 1000x. I have seen some suggesting it may be a hard drive issue, however, the evidence points to the 5D Mark III not playing well with LR 4.2. (T1i images still import fine.)
I am trying to import CR2 files from my canon 450D into Lightroom 5. Lightroom says 'preview unavailable for this file'. I cannot get past this. I have tried importing directly from the camera, and also from an external hard drive that I managed to download the photos onto. Also I am working on a Mac.

I have the latest firmware on my 7d.

None of this has worked.
I can import via the EOS utlity; but I should be able to do this directly from my camera.
This issue has happened all of the sudden...
When I import raw canon cr2 or Nikon NEF files, I cannot see the previews.
The progress bar gets stuck on building smart previews and I see a greyed out box. When I choose one greyed out preview box and go into develop then the preview appears and I can edit the image.
