Lightroom :: Canon's Picture Style To DNG Profile?
May 6, 2012Is there a way to get the "color map" in a Canon's picture style and use it to build a DNG profile, maybe via the DNG Profile Editor or ColorChecker Passport?

Mar 13, 2014I just bought the Tamron SP 90 2.8 DI MACRO USD and LR lens profiles only lists this lens for Canon (F004E) and Nikon (F004N). There is no profile for Sony (F004S) ! Any drawback if I use F004E or N ? Or better use a the profile of the older Model of that lens where there is a Sony profile ?

Apr 22, 2012This is a Canon kit combination and it seems odd that it's not included in the Canon profile for lens correction. The EF-S 10-22 IS USM is there which is not a kit lens and quite expensive. Am I missing a step or do I have to download additional lenses from Adobe?

Feb 13, 2011my main reason for upgrading to LR 3 was the lens profile correction abilities but for some reason LR 3.3 is not listing my Canon 15-85 IS USM lens. I use LR 3.3 at work and the lens is listed but on my Macbook Pro it's missing.
I don't want to start creating a profile as I am not sure I have the technical capabilties or knowledge. Where can I find a profile for this lens?
Lightroom :: Lens Profile For Canon 500mm F/4?
Jan 19, 2012I seem to remember that there used to be a lens profile for the Canon 500mm f/4 lens in my older versions of Lightroom 3, but now when I use LR3.6, I see "none" listed when looking for a profile for this lens in the Develop module. Is this a change in 3.6 or am I mistaken? This probably is not a big deal because I don't remember seeing much change when turning on the profile correction before for this lens, but I am beginning to wonder if I was imagining something.... If the profile was dropped from the latest version, are there any independent profiles for this lens? Can you remind me how to load a user developed profile?

Sep 14, 2012first let me tell you that I'm familiar with LR concepts. I read a lot about RAW processing, color profiles and stuff. It all makes sense to me.
That having said... I'm unfortunatly quite unhappy with LR's color reproduction. It seems technically very accurate; unfortunatly -- Canon's own "Standard Picture Style" (so OOC JPEGs) are in most cases much nicer to look at, color-wise. I know it's not me alone having this feeling (just do a quick search).
Adobe provides look-alike profiles (.DCP-files) which are supposed to imitate Canon's Picture Styles. Unfortunatly none of these Adobe-profiles comes close (enough, IMHO) - most annoying thing for me is a strange blue/green cast in darker areas, e.g. shadows in daylight conditions are too bright and too blueish.
Remember, I'm using a EOS 50D (which probably won't get profile updates any more by Adobe, I suppose...)
So here's my question: Can I assume that Adobe already did the best they can to match Canon's Picture Style? ==> stop dreaming about a "better" "canon-50d-standard.dcp"-file. Take it or leave it, stop crying.
Or is there a possibility to tweak existing profiles? ==> find out how. Adobe's DCP editor, dcptool, whatever?

Aug 19, 2012I'm unable to find a profile for my Canon 5D Mark III within the PS CS6 lens correction filter. In fact, Canon isn't even available as a camera make option within the Search Criteria box, nor are any canon lenses. When I click the Search Online button, the prompt reads "No online profiles found".
I have no problem within Light room 4 (the Mark III and lenses are recognized)-- however, I'd really like to be able to use the new Adaptive Wide Angle Lens filter within CS6, which needs the camera's EXIF data to function correctly. I'm using a new i Mac OS X.7

Sep 10, 2013It is a question about xrefing Civil 3D profile style.
The Civil 3D file has a profile view showing 4 profiles, and 4 different profile styles are used for the purpose of comparison. When xrefing this file, the profiles are not shown the way they are defined in the profile style. It seems their appearances are controlled by layer properties. I just wonder if it is possible to transfer profile style through XREF?

Aug 26, 2013In the Band Style_A pdf you can see the location of my elevation labels, they are below the bottom line of my profile view grid. In the Band Style_B pdf the labels are showing up in the proper location (above the bottom line of the profile view grid). To move the labels to the proper location I changed the "Gap" setting from 12.5 to -24. Is there a way to change this setting in my "style" rather than have to go make this change to the style every time I use it in a profile?

Apr 9, 2010how to create a label style for design center of road (simple tangent) in profile that will work between multiple profile views. I've used the 'Create Multiple Views' profile view wizard. I use a horizontal dimension style label for CL road (looks just like an autocad linear dimension). I'd like the label work across separate views i.e. stop at view end, pick back up at view start.
The label I currently use is simply a line component from tangent start dimension to tangent end dimension and the text component is anchored to the line midpoint. Label looks as intended for normal use. For some reason the line drops as if looking for the actual pvi at the right side when i use multiple views.

Jun 14, 2012I'm dealing with a city that based their drawings on LDD, and they chose to show pipes as just one line on a profile, representing the invert line. In LDD, they pretty much left their pipe profiles as "draft profile" or whatever is used to be called. Now I have to mimic their standard, using Civil 3D. There isn't a handy-dandy style setting that I can find, to do this.

Jul 9, 2013I'm working with plan production sheets and having some trouble. My vertical exaggeration makes me want to split the profile, but when I do it, they get glued together. My left vertical grid numeration stays on the middle of the grid and I get a lot of information overlapped. What I need is to put some gap between these, or split'em. Other issue is that the axis offset of my Profile Style isn't being applied, as well as other configs.

May 17, 2012I have projected Civil 3D COGO Points projected to a profile. I simply want to display the Civil 3D Point Number for each point in the profile.
In the Profile Projection Label Style, the only field in the text editor that displays this point number is the "Source Object Name. This shows up as "CogoPoint 124" for point 124 (see attached). How do I make this simply say the point number ONLY, i.e. "124"?
It would be nice to program the label style to display this field, yet delete the first 10 characters of "CogoPoint x", so it only says the point number, "x"
