When i click any tool on the left the pop-out options turns up direct. Earlier you had to click and hold on the little arrow in the bottom right to pop-out that.

Is there a way to stop it to auto pop-out when only clicking?
I must have clicked something or inadvertantly pressed a keyboard shortcut or something because a couple of weeks ago, the sub-tools on the tool palette started popping up without me having to hold down the mouse button for a second. Now when I click a tool (the rectangular marqee tool for example), the hidden tools (eliptical marqee, single row etc.).
I'm using PS CS5 on Windows 7.
For some reason, the tool palette I usually use is not accessible. I opened a drawing that a co-worker was using and my tool palette now looks like an old version - it doesn't have any of my custom tools in it. How do I get back my tool palette??

This forces me to switch to the Channels tab and select the RGB channel before I can perform work on a layer. Why is Photoshop automatically selecting the Quick Mask layer when switching between layers? I can't seem to find a setting for this and I'm not sure why, all of the sudden, it started doing this. When I take another shape, like a half circle, and reflect it, it rotates at a slight angle. This happens every time I start a new file. I don't see rotation in the appearance panel. When I look at the transform panel it lists rotation at zero. Yet all of my shapes tilt down and to the right.

How can I stop my shapes from auto rotating?
So as soon as I import my files it automatically applies one of my presets and I have to manually undo them. I don't remember ever setting this up.

In ACA 2009 I could, after saving the drawing, click on a wall, window etc and drag it to the tool palette to create a new tool.
In ACA 2011 this only works for lines/polylines. Plus the wall, door and window palettes are gone. How can I retreave them?
Currently using 2013. In 2011 or 2012 when Anchoring Right (or Left) a palette Auto-hide has behavior that seems odd to me. If you click Auto-hide on an anchored palette to open it (and presumably keep it open) it detaches from the anchor. And then when you close it you lose the palette on the anchor. To me this wastes time. I'd like to keep that palette open to work a bit and not have to hassle with it by not having it open, but at the same time don't want to waste time later calling it up and anchoring it again. Is this still happening in 2013?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Adobe CS4 for macs. Just today, every time I enclose an area with my polygonal lasso tool, it stopped closing the area and instead gives me the message "No pixels are more than 50% selected.
The selected edges will not be visible." I must have accidentally pressed something by mistake that makes the lasso tool not work anymore but I don't know what. Do I need to reset Photoshop? Any ways to reset it? I tried holding option,command shift but it still did not reset my Photoshop to its original settings.I also rebooted my computer several times with no success.

The blue bar however, is visible.
When I click "Tab" the bar disappears.
When I click "Tab" again the blue bar reappears but no tools under it.
All tools are available in Image Ready.
I checked my preferences and OpenGL is enabled, so I don't understand why it randomly stops working when I'm trying to get work done. Been working for less than four hours today and have had to restart Photoshop CS5.5 6 times. It starts working for a little while, then the "Scrubby Zoom" box becomes greyed out and the shortcut doesn't work as well.
Also when I hit space (hand tool) to drag the image around, that stops working at the same time as the zoom. I'm using an Intuos4 with this, haven't had problems with it until recently but there haven't been any significant changes in my machine (PC), which has a nice graphics card, processor, etc. I'm using Google Chrome, maybe it has something to do with my browser being open at the same time as PS?
While using the Lasso tool often (10% of the time) it will complete the selection pre-maturely, with a single left click. Similarly and about the same frequency it wont start a path at all and I will need to click again to begin the selection. This has been happening for 5months since I upgraded to Creative Clous and Photoshop CC. Im running a more than capable machine.

Is there any known resolution for this?
Whenever I go to grab a set on my actual document with it selected in my layer palette...it drops right down to selecting the background layer or opens up my layer set and selects a layer within my layer set. I guess I'm not clicking the right spot but in my mind, Shouldn't it just move all the layers instead of randomly selecting some other layer that I didn't select?

Illustrator CS6 displays them much quicker and previous versions of PS weren't this slow to display the submenus. Can I speed up the submenu (alternative tool) display?

When working with the blur tool, I see no change to my photograph. However I do see changes on the layer thumbnail in the palatte bin. What am I missing? It worked for a previous photo, but not with a new one I opened up.
I'm working on a rather complex piece of artwork in Illustrator CC with the latest Mac OS, with several objects on each layer.

Whenever I click an object, its layer in the Layers palette auto-expands, pushing all of the main layers off of the edge of the palette. I then have to click the little arrow to collapse the layer so I can see all of the other layers and (quickly?) get to the one I need.

I am using a Magic Trackpad (don't ask) so this task is particularly arduous, as the cursor is often somewhat difficult to maneuver when attempting to target small UI elements. My display height is only 1050 px, so naturally I would rather not make the layer thumbnails any smaller (25 px.)

I dont do any freehand work and always require pixel precision, also I work with small resolutions <600px at 72dpi/16bit.
How the heck do I kill anti-aliasing, when i set the brush to 1px I only want 1px!?
I have 272x480, 72dpi/16bit image and 2px from the edges I want a 4px border.
(path, drop shadow, inner glow, bev & emb, color overlay, stroke) then I want to bisect it in a number of locations. The problem is I cant do perfect pixle placement and get ugly overlapping. Last program I used I would select path and throw in x,y in all the locations I would want, then select the corner and bevel it to whatever I want. Using the rounded rect tool is nothing but a headache.
I have photoshop cs4 and I cannot find the Auto smart fix, auto levels, and auto contrast nor the adjustment for each that I had with photoshop elements.
