Lightroom :: Preset Won't Stop Auto Applying
Feb 21, 2013So as soon as I import my files it automatically applies one of my presets and I have to manually undo them. I don't remember ever setting this up.

Lightroom :: Applying A Text Style Preset Globally To All Photos In Book?
Mar 17, 2012Is there a way of applying a Text Style Preset globally to all photos in your Book? I changed my background color to near black globally and since the default font is also black, all of my captions need to change to white. I'd also like them a little larger. It seems the only way of doing this is by selecting each caption individually, then changing its preset. That's ok for a few photos, but not very appealing for 100.

I need to create a preset that will do just that on 400 pictures but will make adjustments based on each individual picture's needs. I have tried to work on 1 picture while have the rest selected and Auto Sync selected. But what it does then is to apply the same values on all selected pictures and not "auto" for every individual picture.

Aug 18, 2012I am in the book module and trying to use the "auto layout preset editor"......when I go to save any custom preset it does not save and the preset area remains blank. I only have the four presets that came with lightroom and cannot create my own.

Lightroom :: Applying Auto Tone To Multiple Photos
Feb 14, 2013Having just loaded 10,000+ scanned negatives in LR 4.3, I am applying Auto Tone as a starting point for development settings. I have selected all images in Grid View, right-clicked to Develop Settings...Auto Tone. I can then go to the Develop page and Auto Tone is shown in every images History.the Auto button is still visible and I can click on it and get different [generally better] settings.

Is there a reason why Auto Tone applied to multiple photos produces different development settings from when it is applied individually to each photo?
Lightroom :: How To Prevent LR4 From Applying Auto Tone Settings Upon Return From Plug-in
Nov 15, 2012is there any way to prevent lightroom 4 to apply auto settings to the image after it is returned from treatment in a plugin? Typically, I would launch SFX or other plugins from LR4 by specifying "submit a copy of the image with LR adjustments". When finished, the result image is returned to LR4 and auto settings are applied to it, as if it was freshly imported. This is very annoying. I have every time to reset all settings manually (exposure, whites, blacks, etc) one by one. Is there a way to treat plugin returns differently from importing images from a disk/card?

Jun 7, 2012I have no import presets created (verified by the import screen saying "none" when importing), yet LR adds one (the same one) keyword to all photos imported. I have 4.1, but this has been happening in previous versions. How to stop this?? Apr 15, 2005I quite often need to process digital photo's on CD ROM. By which I mean I am asked to duplicate CDs with sometimes hundreds of pics on. In doing so I notice that the original pictures are invariably poor colour and brightness. When I apply an Image Adjust Auto levels function the picture is wonderfully transformed as to how it should look. If I spend time on each individual photo it takes ages to do and no longer is cost effective.
I like to keep the client happy and so, is there a way I can create a 'droplet' or 'batch' or indeed anything that will allow me to apply Auto Levels or Auto Contrast to say, 200 images at a time? I am using Photoshop 6.1 at present.

Feb 3, 2012I find that if I have some video that has poor color, if I grab a still from it and bring it into GIMP, GIMP does a good job on correcting it.
Now, I'd like to know what color correction settings were applied by that filter so that I can go back to my video editing package and apply similar color corrections across the entire video clip, not just the still.

May 18, 2012When I create a shape, like a rectangle, it starts out slightly rotated or skewed. When I take another shape, like a half circle, and reflect it, it rotates at a slight angle. This happens every time I start a new file. I don't see rotation in the appearance panel. When I look at the transform panel it lists rotation at zero. Yet all of my shapes tilt down and to the right.

Jul 4, 2009I select a different layer or group, the Quick Mask channel is automatically selected. This forces me to switch to the Channels tab and select the RGB channel before I can perform work on a layer. Why is Photoshop automatically selecting the Quick Mask layer when switching between layers? I can't seem to find a setting for this and I'm not sure why, all of the sudden, it started doing this. Does anyone know how to stop this madness?

Oct 18, 2013I currently use LR5.2. In camera calibration panel, there are a few options for camera profiles, e'g., camera landscape. I created a "camera landscape" preset, which did not work. It seems that there are some missing checks in "new develop preset" box. As seen in the attachment, i placed checkmarks only in front of "process version" and "calbiration". This was not enough. It seems that the box might need more checkmarks to produce a workable landscape preset.

Nov 24, 2013I am trying to find my way, of how to submit my photos to the external lab for printing. Print module is kind of useless for me - the page setup is printer driver dependant and none of my installed printer drivers allows me to define borderless print and so LR does not allow me to set margins to zero. I think, that such desing limitation is pretty strange, especially if you just want to print to the jpeg file.

So - then I moved on to the crop tool. What a bunch of inconsistencies and design limits:

- LR seems to use some kind of catalog dependant storage, instead of just some for e.g. custom XML or other kind of list
- LR mysteriosly remember your last 5 settings. If you do a mistake, you need to reenter all of them again
- you can't even name your custom ratio settings - that's imo pretty much insufficient
- I need to set precious ratio setting for the Noritsu machine, so that I get exact resolution. Good for two of my settings, but when I try for my 13x18cm (2268 x 1625 pix), LR deletes my custom setting and marks 5x7 for me. But it is off by 10 pixels on one axis! Some strange rounding and matching was applied, but I can't it set exactly to what I need. Why does LR mess with what I want, if I select custom ratio?!

So I thought, that I might make a preset. I noticed, that when you copy setting from an image, there is a crop section. But - exactly the same dialog, which allows us to save settings, does miss a crop section. What a bummer! I found xy requests, where ppl were asking for the functionality few years ago. I am very negatively surprised, that it was yet not granted for implementation, especially as some of crop tool facilities are pretty arcane at best.

What I am now thinking about is to prepare three model images, make separate folder for them, and use them as a source for the cropping setting to copy from, but of course I would like the crop functionality to be enhanced/fixed.

I remember back in Lightroom 3, you could select some filters, like Cold Tone, then select another filter and would apply itself on top of the Cold Tone filter.

Now, it seems in Lightroom 4, every time you select a filter, it completely overwrites all the settings of previous ones.

Jun 11, 2013I just bought LR5 yesterday. I own Photoshop CS5. Normally I open my images in LR, make my raw adjustments and then open in CS5 for my creative editing. When I do that now from LR5, the adjustments revert back to the original settings when opened in CS5. I downloaded and installed the new Camera RAW 8.1... it didn't make a difference.Â

LR5 is useless to me if the adjustments don't transfer over to CS5 as I ALWAYS use finish in CS5.Â

Nov 28, 2012I am using Lightroom 4 and developed a picture in it last week. I saved the picture onto my desktop and sent it to my client. She loved the way it looked and wants other pictures to look the same way (tone/cold color, etc). I did not save the history as a preset before I exported it out. How can I get the history back from when I worked on it last week? Is it stored in the pictures data somewhere or do I have to try and recreate the image adjustments??
