View 3 RepliesI am trying to stroke a path in a vector image I am making, but how you are supposed to make sharp corners while stroking with the paintbrush.
I know that if I just choose the "stroke line" option, any corners in the path will be sharp instead of rounded, but I need to stroke with the brush so that I can apply brush dynamics. Can you even do this?
^^this is what happens with the brush
^^This is what I need to happen, but with brush dynamics
why is stroking paths so dang hard.
Is there a way to create a curve in the curves dialog box with points of non-differentiability (i.e. sharp corners) such as the following:
I was almost positive that there was a way to convert a point added to a curve in the Curves dialog to be a sharp corner, but I can't seem to locate it now.
when using the bevel and emboss tool in the layer style menu, to make a sharp inner corner? I was working on creating a frame using hard chisel bevel - it makes the outside of the frame have a sharp corner, but the inside is rounded. See sample image at: URL....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop CS5. When stroking type, I can't get the edges/corners sharp (see attachment)- is there a way to do this? Possible in CS6? I believe possible in Illustrator, but cheaper and easier for me to do it in Photoshop if possible (I don't have any version of Illustrator), and I won't have to learn a new program.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find a simple way to make a border around an image, but with square corners. Stroke does what I want it to, but I want the border on the outside and the corners square, not round- which is what I get when I use stroke on the outside.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've never encountered this before, but my Marquee tool is doing this now. The corners are not sharp, 90º angle corners, but are "stepped". I'm using PS 7.0. Any ideas on how to stop this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a lj mood theme and I learned how to create round corners - basically I create a new tranparent image, go to modify - > smooth (5px) and then paste the original image. It works fine!, until I try to add a border using the stroke tool - the corners don't get the border, as you can seehere. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, if it's a setting or what. I've tried several blending modes, all locations (inside, center, outside), preserve transparency, nothing works. Of course, I'm completely challenged when it comes to photoshop, so I could really use your help on this one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI like to put some (small) text on a simple image to use it on the web, but the text looks blurry. I've tried all the anti-aliasing options, but none of them looks sharp. Pixelfonts do not seem to look any better. Is there any way to make small text look sharp in Photoshop, or should I use Illustrator e.g.? I'm just a beginner in PHotoshop and I have no clue how to solve this problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to create some sharp text in my image, but can't figure out how to do it despite lots of searching.
Here is what it currently looks like:
Those letters look terrible and I'd like it to be straight, sharp lines.
I noticed if I use "Convert To Shape" it outlines the letters exactly the way I want them to look:
But, when I select the shape, it just selects the nasty pixels behind it, not this border.
i regulary scan documents with text but find text looks muddy when printed .blocky edges .ive played around with unsharp mask but no joy. if i input text through photoshop 7 its nice and sharp yet scanned text remains poor .played around with scanner using different resolutions and input formats ie colour doc . line art etc tried abbyy finereader but waste of time (need graphics in background)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a friend still using PS 5.5, OK, OK it's me. How would I create a SHARP outline around text or anything else. I've tried outerglow, stroke and expanding the selection. The problem is, wherever the font or shape has a sharp or 90 degree angle, the outline rounds off at that point.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI know that Photoshop is not the premier pdf creation software. I do have InDesign as well, but I'm much more familiar and comfortable with Photoshop (I have the CC versions of both) so I prefer to use it as my design and layout tool.
However, when I save as a pdf the resultant pdf file is blurry for images and text, not horribly so, but not sharp and clear as I would like. My pdf files are for the web and emailing so I need to keep the file size in check, but even when I up the PS resolution to 300psi it still is not as clear as I would like. Still blurry.
What do you Photoshop experts out there do to produce the sharpest pdf possible? Is it even possible using Photoshop only or do you have to use InDesign or Acrobat Pro to get the clarity and shapness?
So essentially I'm trying to mimic the effect on the text here:URL.... (Don't know how easy or how hard it is to do it)I just can't get that 'sharp' 3D look, I've tried bevel selection, but it makes the text look more round (since there are no edges).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know how to make rounded corners. But the background has color and shows the square corners of the palette.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI put rounded corners [from the decor part] onto my image, and when i saved it, it came up with these extra bits at the corners; which make the image actually rectangle. How i can get rid of them? i just want the plain round corners. =x

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to add a double stroke to some text. For example I want some red text with a white stoke and then a red stroke similar to this: ...
View 9 Replies View RelatedHow do you make the stroke outline (The double white) on the red text?
I know how to make a single stroke outline, but not sure about the double. I kinda think the stroke outline might be off a selection that is put on a separate layer so it can be moved.
Whenever I add a stroke to text it never stays straight edged like the text, it becomes more rounded. Question is, is there a way to stroke the text with the edges staying straight instead of rounded without having to just draw a box around it or something?
Here's a picture of what I'm going for, I'm fine with making a box around the text (there are other characters, rounded characters like an "O"), but it would be a big time saver if there was a way to do it quicker.
Stroke in Photoshop is on the left, desired effect is on the right. The letter "i" might be a bad example, however the effect I'm looking for is a stroke keeping the shape of the text rather than rounding itself.
I want to make some text with two outline colours.
(I'm not too concerned at this stage with the squeezing effect on the text)
Adding a stroke layer style (then adding a second one) sort of works, but the corners are rounded - I want them (as in the Fforde book example) to follow the crisp corners of the font itself.
I have PSE10 and i got thsi urge to add a gradient as the stroke to a text, but don't know how...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am simply trying to outline some text. When I get to the "edit stroke" dialog box (where you specify number of pixels for width, etc.), it doesn't have an option for "line color". I thought it said it puts it in as the "last color used" or something like that. I keep setting the foreground color beforehand (to grey). It keeps putting the line in as red, when I want it grey. how you specify this color? Or if there is a simpler way to outline some text?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, created text -- added warp effect. What I'd normally do is just then expand -- then unite -- then stroke it. But -- I'm sure there's a way where I could keep that text and effect editable while adding a stroke to look as if I united so the stroke follows the group and not the individual letters.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI run a screen printing business and I recently added some simple design services to my clients to bring in more business.I have attached the graphic which is a mock up of what I'm trying to do with the text.
I'm looking to have the white knockout to the background color. it's a black text in the center, a (what should be) knockout outline of that black text and then another black outline outside of that.how to set it up, order and arrange the text so I can simply keep the look of the white knocking out to the shirt color.
I have done this a thousand times, and not had a problem. Basically I tried putting a gradient into text, and nothing happened. I tried it on a shape, and it worked fine. So I went to the appearances panel and added a new fill for the text. It worked, but even with the stroke disabled, there is still a weird glitchy outline around the text?
I tried exporting the file as PDF to check if this is just showing up in program...but it shows up in the outputted PDF too!
I want to add a black border around the text so it accentuates the text.
I have made a rectangle and added black text on top of the rectangle and applied a mask and inverted and clipped the rectangle and text.
I tried to release the mask and apply a black stroke on the text but when I remask and apply clipping and invert the stroke turns the same color as the text.
I'm creating text that will be printed on a deep gray to black tshirt.
I created text, added an offset path to it with a gradient, and a deep gray color fill on top, achieving the gradient stroke. However, I'm not exactly sure what color the shirt itself will be, other than deep gray to black. And I didn't want the deep gray/black fill in my text to appear and look awkward on the shirt. Unless that is something I shouldn't be considered about.
To be safe, how would you create transparent text with a gradient stroke? I'm using Illustrator CS5.
I have text with two strokes apllied to it. I want to cut/delete the first stroke to have the apperance of a stroke that has a gap between the text fill and the stroke. Or if there is an easier way to have the outline apllied, expanded (for lack of a better term) off of the fill?
