I am making a newsletter. I want to make my main banner ghost like so that I can put text in front of it but still show the extension of the banner (almost like a transparency). I know there's a way to do it in photoshop but I can find any videos on how to do it.

The client wants fire on all of his mouse over images and text.
I know how to create the fire to the image, but I get white around the image or text.
It looks bad on the color background.
Photoshop CS6 - Stroke path is ghosted both in the paths menu and when I right click on the path. How do I stroke the path - can it remain a vector or do I have to convert it into a selection then stroke it?

I've opened a new doc, gone to tools>options>document, set the solid background I want, then check save options as defaults for new documents. But when I then open a new document, the background setting is back to "no background".

This has many annoyances, such as parts of the image disappear at certain rotations because they render to the same color as the background. More seriously, when I want to print the orthogonal 3D view, I get the gray background on the printout, which looks profoundly ugly, and obscures some of the critical information I want to see.
Is there a way to either (a) change the background to something other than gray-gradient? (I'd settle for something like light-blue-gradient, for example) and (b) tell the print command to not print the gray background (but if I change it to solid white, this would solve the problem)
Remove the text and the white background and fill it with its respective background ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have imported a number of raster images into a drawing and wish to turn the "blank" bits transparent. I can set them all to "Background transparency = YES" in the Properties bar, but as far as I can see I need to go through each one individually to set the relevant transparency color, since as soon as I select more than one tile the "Transparency color" tab disappears.
Is there a way to do a multiple select as the "blank" color is the same for all the tiles? I'm planning to use a lot of tiles and this will be incredibly laborious and inefficient otherwise. I am using Map 3D 2011.
I am looking for the location of the setting that controls the background of paperspace. Not the printable area, but the background. See image below.

Where is the setting for the sample line label background mask? I have some sample lines that will be plotted on top of an aerial photo, and the black box background looks terrible. I'd like to turn it off. I found the contour label background fine and I switched those to False without much of a problem, but I can't seem to locate the ones for the sample lines.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on 3d model of interior and I have two problems. I am trying to made similar model as it is on the first image.
After setting all render properties and turning on sky and illuminations my view on object switch from isometric to perspective view.
Is there any way to change it to isometric view so the point of view do not change position at the time of changing, because I find out the way to return it to isometric but then the point of view that was placed inside of room is moved outside and I can't render object that was inside.
Also I can't set white background as it is on the first image. Second image is my attempt that is made inside of the room.

I was adding in some text to a hand drawn image that I scanned in. I put in the first label and it was going smoothly, then I highlighted it and changed the font and the black lettering I put in disappeared.
It still seems to be there, and it shows up in the Layers box. It's just as though the opacity has been turned down to 0% (which it hasn't). It's not stuck behind another layer and it's not the same colour as the background. I can still copy/paste text in and out but I can't make the text visible. Even if I put a colour overlay using the Layer/Layer Styles/Blending Options, it still won't show up.
Even if I start a new image, the same thing happens when I try and put new text in. Basically, my ability to add text to an image has been totally incapacitated.
Have I leant on the keyboard and triggered a short cut I didn't know about? Is it a glitch or a screw up with the program.
I've been adding text to layers for a few months with no problem. I use the text tool all I get is a 'dot' with a line that extends as I type. It does create a layer and the layer is named by whatever I typed but there isn't anything there.I've gotten the outline to show, but it's empty. the font size might be too small to see. I have a 25 inch background and set the font to 72 but still nothing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe just switched to AutoCAD 2013 and we are trying to figure out the best way to make a note with a leader. So far it seems the best thing to use is the keynote option called TEXT WITH STRAIGHT LEADER. If we just do text, no leader is automatically added. This seems to work except we cannot set the text to a default of arial.
Once the text is entered, it changes to ArchDim instead of the text we created called 'Arial'.
I'm the REVIT person in the office so I'm trying to figure out CAD as I go...hence I need easy instructions that I can try to navigate...
I've found nearly everything I need to draw my tables, but cannot find how to set the text styles for the Title, Header and Data cells.
There must be a way, but it is hidden under an obscure method or property title which I can't identify or find on the internet or in the Object Browser.
I can set up anno text to appear for instance at 1/8" scale, but cannot get it to change for every scale, and for it to remain centered on the original position at each change in scale. I know it's something to do with how I set it up but cannot find it in "Help".

I am setting up a routine so that when I want to draw a 1:100 scale drawing my dimscale is set to 100 and my textheight is set to 350. Likewise when I want a 1:50 drawing my dimscale is 50 and text height is 175. This way I don't have to keep changing the height setting when I'm using dtext and mtext.
The text in question will not be html, just text, mainly Times Roman and black. The graphics I produce should look clear online and I don't know which is best - sharp/crisp/strong - can I get some clarification on this?

I like using the edit label text in the lable styles to add additional text and information.
I can turn on / off the backroung mask for all the style but not each.
Is there a way to turn on / off the backround mask of each layout text.

I'm using ilogic to automatically build standardized descriptions that are linked to a field in our PDM system for future searches. The problem is that the variable "Length" (shown below) can sometimes be a whole number so it drops the trailing zeros and I want it to always be a two decimal value.

Best practices for setting up systems in a lab environment. We have a lab enviroment of about 200 systems that access AutoCad, Inventor, Mechanical and others.
We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.
In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.
We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.
I have been creating backgrounds for pictures and then moving them onto the background ..to create a border for my pics. After this i have been adding text to the pic .
I must have hit a wrong button setting. Now everytime i select "T" the text option and put the cursor on the layer to type, the entire image is shadowed red.. after i finish typing something and hit enter the text is glowing.
I remember I have seen somewhere that people use text as a background.
Could someone provide me some example? Text with cool effect.
