View 5 Repliesrecently bought a copy of Elements 11. I have an image with a solid white background, which I want to change to a transparent background. I just can't seem to work out how to make the solid white background transparent. I have saved the image as a PSD, then used Magic Extractor hoping that I could highlight to retain the image and then 'highlight' the backround to become transparent, but it does not seem to work that way.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a private project to add some Swedish text to my artwork. I need this text to have a transparent background so my artwork shows through and be editable. I don't have a Swedish keyboard.
I have received the text as a word document but when I copy and paste onto a new layer I don't know how to successfully get rid of the white background, and for it to be editable (need to change where line breaks are).
I could retype the text myself within PSE as there are only four characters that are specific to the swedish language, can these be created and added to whatever font I select and then create shortcuts to use them where appropriate?
I am currently using PSE9.
I'm using Elements 6. Old school, I know.
I'm trying to add a .png logo with a transparent background to a photo, but it always shows up as a gray background. What am I doing wrong.
I have photoshop elements 7.0 and I am having difficulty making making a photo with a transparent background. According to the tutorials I watched, I am supposed to bring the desired photo which I do and can be seen on the right in the layers box dialogue. Then there I create a copy which is "unlocked" which shows up on my screen. Then, I select the brush tool and I select the areas of the photo which I wish to make transparent and then hit the letter "D" on my keyboard, or the delete button. Although the background is seen gone in the photo in my layers box, the background is still shown in my photo on my screen. The perforated lines are seen and although I keep pressing the D button it does not work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI created a .png file from our organization logo. I used the magic wand to select and "delete" the backgound, leaving it transparent. However, when placed on our web site, the logo edges have a slight line. What must I do to not have the lines (to make the background truly transparent)?

I am looking to crop some pictures and make the background transparent. This is one of my pictures below. The problem I am coming across is with it being see through, I cant seem to just pick and grab the blue rods, golf balls and clips they are sitting on. It seems to want to pick up everything including the gray background. I heard photoshop would make this possible. is this true? Also, what program would be the best for me? I want to spend the littlest i can. I am looking at the adobe photoshop elements and premier movie element 10. Would this work? Any good video describing how to crop and make the background transparent.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to create a transparent text on a solid color background, and I need text transparency to go all the way to through the image (i.e. do not show the solid color background). I have the transparent background layer, the solid rectangle layer that occupies part of the image, and the text layer (with text element) on the top of the solid rectangle layer. How do I make text transparency to go all the way through? Here is a similar example for Photoshop CS, only in my case, the background layer is transparent (i.e. there is no picture): URL... Basically, I need to make the letters see through, so they show the background color on which the image will be placed. Is it possible to do in Photoshop Elements? I'm using version 9 on Windows 7.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am fairly new to PSE and I want to create an oval vignette in Photoshop Elements 10 with transparent background for printing on white paper using MS Publisher. I have create a new layer that is transparent, but the background color on my website does not go thru it. The background color of this image appears to be grayish not transparent.
I am trying to create sort of a rounded box, except with one corner only. I am quite new to photoshop and am running into trouble creating the top left corner, (the only corner I want to show). I have created the background set as transparent, then used the rounded rectangle to create a round corner, then created another layer and another rounded rectangle over the first one, so now I have a thin line, with a rounded corner.
The problem is, the middle section is still white, so I have to manually use the eraser tool to erase that layer to get the transparent background to show through instead of the white background.
I am sure there is a better way to do this. How can I set an entire layer to be transparent ?
I have some text documents in PDF format and would like to edit it in photoshop CS5, but each time I open them up in photoshop, the background seems to be transparent (tiny grey and white tiles), which is very eye tiring when editing/annotating with a wacom pen, how to fill the background total white?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was asked to cut out the background from a logo to make it transparent so the logo would look nice on a variety of backgrounds. I've been given a good quality jpeg file.
What I did was I selected (by colour) the background (white), inverted the selection, copied it and pasted as a new image.
It's all fine (the logo itself doesn't have any other elements) but there's still some whiteish/greyish outline around certain elements of the logo.
If I were to do it manually, it'd probably take ages. What would be the best way to accomplish it?
I am making a newsletter. I want to make my main banner ghost like so that I can put text in front of it but still show the extension of the banner (almost like a transparency). I know there's a way to do it in photoshop but I can find any videos on how to do it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a file with 2 layers, one (Layerone) that is blank, i.e. no fill or anything. The other layer (Layertwo) has text. I save the file as a .gif, select transparent, select matte as none, and keep getting a white background when I upload the file to my website.
I also tried copying the text Layer to the clipboard, creating a a new file with the background set as 'transparent', then pasting the text only layer into the new file. I still get the white background when I upload to website.
It can't be this hard to get a transparent background. What am I doing wrong?
