I have (2) text boxes that display the width of a door, but they are in different locations. I would like to be able to change one of text boxes, and have the other one automatically change respectivly. Is this possible? Possibly using parameters?

I need to create a 100 wedges 'spinning wheel' graphic (like a pie chart but does not require pie chart functionality) with each wedge of equal size and spacing but can't seem to find a process that works.

What I've done is create 5 text paths overlaying each other so I can move the text around the path but is there any quick way to creat equal gaps?
We just switched to AutoCAD 2013 and we are trying to figure out the best way to make a note with a leader. So far it seems the best thing to use is the keynote option called TEXT WITH STRAIGHT LEADER. If we just do text, no leader is automatically added. This seems to work except we cannot set the text to a default of arial.
Once the text is entered, it changes to ArchDim instead of the text we created called 'Arial'.
I'm the REVIT person in the office so I'm trying to figure out CAD as I go...hence I need easy instructions that I can try to navigate...
I've found nearly everything I need to draw my tables, but cannot find how to set the text styles for the Title, Header and Data cells.
There must be a way, but it is hidden under an obscure method or property title which I can't identify or find on the internet or in the Object Browser.
I can set up anno text to appear for instance at 1/8" scale, but cannot get it to change for every scale, and for it to remain centered on the original position at each change in scale. I know it's something to do with how I set it up but cannot find it in "Help".

I am setting up a routine so that when I want to draw a 1:100 scale drawing my dimscale is set to 100 and my textheight is set to 350. Likewise when I want a 1:50 drawing my dimscale is 50 and text height is 175. This way I don't have to keep changing the height setting when I'm using dtext and mtext.
I have set my text style and the height but what i am suppose to write in the Widht Factor case ?? The default setting is 1.0000?

The problem is that the variable "Length" (shown below) can sometimes be a whole number so it drops the trailing zeros and I want it to always be a two decimal value.

Best practices for setting up systems in a lab environment. We have a lab enviroment of about 200 systems that access AutoCad, Inventor, Mechanical and others.
We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.
In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.
We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.
I am making a newsletter. I want to make my main banner ghost like so that I can put text in front of it but still show the extension of the banner (almost like a transparency). I know there's a way to do it in photoshop but I can find any videos on how to do it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was adding in some text to a hand drawn image that I scanned in. I put in the first label and it was going smoothly, then I highlighted it and changed the font and the black lettering I put in disappeared.
It still seems to be there, and it shows up in the Layers box. It's just as though the opacity has been turned down to 0% (which it hasn't). It's not stuck behind another layer and it's not the same colour as the background. I can still copy/paste text in and out but I can't make the text visible. Even if I put a colour overlay using the Layer/Layer Styles/Blending Options, it still won't show up.
Even if I start a new image, the same thing happens when I try and put new text in. Basically, my ability to add text to an image has been totally incapacitated.
Have I leant on the keyboard and triggered a short cut I didn't know about? Is it a glitch or a screw up with the program.

It does create a layer and the layer is named by whatever I typed but there isn't anything there.I've gotten the outline to show, but it's empty. the font size might be too small to see. I have a 25 inch background and set the font to 72 but still nothing.

I have a logo that is a jpg file Xref'd into a title block xref file. In my sheet files IMAGEFRAME and OLEFRAME are set to 0. They are set that way in the Title Block file as well. I still have some sheet files with these system variables set to 0 that still print the border around the logo.
