View 2 RepliesI am trying to get DText objects to update width factor when I change the Width Factor of the Text Style. We have one style (Simplex) & I hoped to be able to set the width factor of that style to 0.8 or 1.2 depending on what is required and then just insert objects from the tool palette so they have the correct width factor.
This seems to work for MText but not for DText or Attributes. Short of using lisp is there a to update the width factor of DText & Attributes? (hoping to be able to do this on LT also)
Only way I can see for DText is to qselect text and change style to something else and back to Simplex. Only way for attributes I've found is to advance edit block and change text style to something else and back.
AutoCad 2013 & LT 2013
What is the best way to change the color of two pieces of specific text in lisp? I want to change where it says (strcase ln6) & (strcase ln7) to the color of green. I tried it a couple of different ways but I'm having some trouble. First I am setting the current layer with a color of blue. I am then running the text command a couple of times. I want to run the mtext command a couple of times but I want the text to be green & I want the width factor to be .85

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to find out, how to change the width factor of multiline attribute and I failed.
The only way was to change the width factor of texstyle the attribute uses.
Is there a way to override this property for a single attribute? And if not, is there some reason for that?
I have a number of attributed dynamic blocks with multi vis states, that I wish to change from attribute text width factor 1, to 0.85, as per client specified requirement for the particular project. There are quite a number of different named blocks on each sheet, copies of each block, and quite a number of sheets involved.
Using BATTMAN or EATTEDIT I cannot select all attributes and change width factor in one go. It can only be done one at a time, a laborious task at best. GATTE appears not to be able to change width factor.
Any method of selecting all attributed blocks in a sheet, then changing the attribute text width factor on all to 0.85 in one fell swoop?
I can set up anno text to appear for instance at 1/8" scale, but cannot get it to change for every scale, and for it to remain centered on the original position at each change in scale. I know it's something to do with how I set it up but cannot find it in "Help".

We are missing the text style pulldown and dim style pulldowns.
Is there a code to get these back.
We're transitioning from ACA2012 to ACA2014. I'm also trying to get away from putting my blocks in DesignCenter and having our users insert Annotation (tags) from the Ribbon bar.
When I insert our door tag (or any schedule tag) from the ribbon bar, it is automatically changing the text style to the current text style. I'd rather it just use the style built into the tag. I know that can be controlled in the Designcenter content (right-click) - but how do I change that from the ribbon bar?
When using mtext and a background mask and try to modify the border offset factor from the default of 1.5 , the factor reverts back to 1.0. If I type in 1.25 or 1.75, it will not save it and revert to 1.0. If I put in a larger number like 2.0 or 3.0, that factor will be retained.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI use a style library. Have it in a read-only mode in the ipj file. My drawing created a new template with a rev table with required columns.
Now, I create a new drawing file and choose this template. add few views, insert a rev table. The rev table columns headings are the same as in the template. But the column widths aren't same as in the template.
I use manage->update. It warns me that the drawing would be matched as per the style library. I agree & OK.
No use, the columns are not same size? Though the style is read only from the drawing, I go to open the style editor to check the column widths. They are different from the template.
I am finding that if I start with a CommanLine (not full width of the screen) centered on the bottom of the drawing window, as I am working the CommandLine has increased to the full width of the screen.
Why this may be happening or how I may prevent?
Is it possible to set a viewport's visual style without opening the drawing in the editor? I would like to set a visual style on all viewports for a batch of drawings.
As a followup, could the viewport then be part of a publish event and have the new visual style hold without opening and reneging the drawing?
For some reason when I edit text and dimensions in model space the text will go huge and my text is non-annotative. If i change it in properties box it does not multiple it or if I am editing text though a viewport it will not multiply. Example - if I have style set to 4 (height) and I create mtext.
Then I decide that I want text to be 5 so I double click on mtext and highlight the text and change to 5 and the text will instantly be 200 not 5, but if I change in properties box it will stay at 5 or if I am in a viewport and change the text by double clicking and highlighting and then changing it to 5 it stays at 5. My issue is for whatever reason only in model space is the text being multiplied by a factor and I cannot figure out why this is happening.
Is it possible to create a wall in AutoCAD Architecture that will change in size along its length. At one end of the concrete wall the wall thickness is 12", at the other end the wall thickness is 24" thick. The wall will grow in size from one length to the other.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIn the Band Style_A pdf you can see the location of my elevation labels, they are below the bottom line of my profile view grid. In the Band Style_B pdf the labels are showing up in the proper location (above the bottom line of the profile view grid). To move the labels to the proper location I changed the "Gap" setting from 12.5 to -24. Is there a way to change this setting in my "style" rather than have to go make this change to the style every time I use it in a profile?
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow I keep the three risers shown in the image below, but extend the landings on the first and third run to avoid creating the angled corners. The angled corners show up when I manually edit the edges to bring the second run width down to match the first and third run width.
If I extend the landings, it tends to push one of the second run risers around the corner to the third run, and that screws up my design.
I am looking for a way to change the text style used by a table style with Visual LISP. So far I have been able to get the IAcadTableStyle object from the acad_tablestyle dictionary, but there is no property for text style. Is this even possible? Code and results are below.

(setq TableStyles (vla-item dict "acad_tablestyle"))

I'm setting up line and curve label style. Oringally we were going to have one set of line label style. Ex. Bearing Above or Bearing Below. After seeing that the line labels does not look at the current text style we decided to make copies of the original label styles based on Text Styles. So now I have Bearing Above60, Bearing Above100, etc. I named them based on the Leroy styles and sizes.
After editing each one and changing the Text Style each one looks at, it is not using the Texting Style i assign it. I'm doing this in the General Tab and Text Style for each label style.
i guess I should have tested before creating all them to find out it didn't work.Does it need to be done somewhere else or is do I have to do something with the overall label style overrides?
I have got troubles with textures in the new Inventor 2013. When I try to programmatically change a texture in a render style of a part (no matter, whether I use an existing render style or create a new one), when I set the texture file name, Inventor throws an exception "Bad argument". In Inventor 2012, it worked. How textures should be set in the new Inventor?
Sample
PartDocument partDoc = ... some initialization
RenderStyle newRenderStyle = partDoc.RenderStyles.Add("newRenderStyle");
newRenderStyle.TextureFilename = newTexFilename; //this throws an exception bad format, even if the texture is in the Inventor textures directory
partDoc.ActiveRenderStyle = newRenderStyle;
I have drawings that were made in AutoCAD Architecture 2008 that when opened in AutoCAD Architecture 2012, the 0-width walls in the drawing don't show up anymore. The only solution I found was to change the Base Height in the properties of the wall (which I accessed by choosing the zdiagnostics display setting) to 10' instead of the standard 1/2" that we normally use.
I'm guessing it has to do with the wall styles as they were transferred from out 2008 to our 2012 template.

I've tried this in a fresh drawing from a simple template and from an OOTB template. They never rotate in a layout. Is this the normal behavior or am I missing a setting? This is how I have it set in my style:
