AutoCAD Architecture :: Link Frames Width And Height To Door Schedule?
Oct 17, 2012
how to link a door frames width and height to the door schedule? For example if I have a 3'-0" x7'-0" door the frame width would be 3'-4"x7'-2", I would like this to automatically generate in my door schedule when I insert a door without me having to manually put it in. I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2010.
--Is there a way to do a door schedule by styles rather than individual door?
--To clarify: I want my door schedule to create a new door number only when one or more of the property sets, classifications, or door styles pertaining to a door are not defined by other doors in the schedule. This would facilitate giving the same door number to multiple doors that have matching schedule information, and cut down on my schedule size.
--how to do this. If I need to create custom tags, schedules, or formula properties.
I am having trouble trying to edit the title fonts in a door schedule. No matter which font I pick under "Edit Schedule Table Style" after a selection of the schedule and right clik, the title font will not change. The listed doors font does change. Is it not poosible to change the title and descriptor font?
How can the dimensions for the system family door be shown in the door schedule?
I tried to make a instance paramater, type parameter, both through shared parameter for the doors in the family file, but they are still not showing up.
I working on a deadline with little sleep, but I cannot believe it is this hard to get an overhead door to look right. All I want is a 1" thick frame, the same depth as the wall AND the door slab to be INSIDE the frame like a real overhead door.
The attached PDF shows the standard OH door on the left with the stupid door centered in the frame. The door on the right is one I created by inserting a cased opening in the wall, then manually drawing a rectangle and dashed line for the OH swing. All I am interested in is getting this right in plan at this point. Using Architecture 64 bit.
I have ACAD Arch 2012 and I am trying to associate my door tags with my door schedule and visa versa. I get as far as creating the Door Schedule with all the doors on it and quantified just the way you would want to see it; however, the "Mark" remains "A" for every door. I discovered that I can change the Mark on the extended properties of each door, but I believe there should be a better (and more linked) way to accomplish this. Since the program already recognizes how many doors there are of a specific style it should be able to put sequential "marks" to each door, for example "A", "B", "C", etc.
what's the difference between Door Tags - Project Based and regular Door Tags?
I am trying to add the typical category of "glazing" to a door schedule, but when I add a door with glass into my project, I cannot make this information show up on my schedule. I need typical information such as "!/4" Temp" and "1" Insul" under the category of glazing. I added the "Door: Glass" heading in the schedule, but nothing appears when I add a glass door into the project. I was able to easily do this in AutoCAD Architecture.
So I've created a door schedule and added all the parameters I needed. But to get the "room name" to list and be associated with the door tags I had to choose either if the doors were going to a room or from a room, so I chose to, however, some of the doors swing are leaving the room so instead of tagging them with the corridor we want them associated with the room. But I can't edit the column the room names are in. If I click on a cell it gives me a drop menu on the side of what I can choose for that cell and it doesn't have the listed room that I need. It does not let me just type in the cell is there a way to fix this?! The blue highlighted name shows my option of what I can list as the room name or I can leave it blank, it lets me click inside the cell as if I could just put text in it but it actually doesn't show anything that I type.
Is there any command in autocad to LINK TEXT TO SCHEDULE TABLE. I have door & windows in my plan I have given attribute numbers to them as per sizes like for
800mm -w1 900mm-w2 1200mm-w3 etc...
I have made window opening schedule table , when ever i add or delete one window form schedule i have to change the order. like if i delete 900mm window schedule will be.
800mm- w1 1200mm- w2 etc....
so I am looking for a command when ever i change my schedule table my attribute numbers should also change.
Suppose I have a rectangle 10 x 8 and then I join the middle points of the widths with a line ... so I will end up with 2 boxes of 5 x 8. Now what I need to do is to stretch the side by 2 units to become 12 by 8 but I want the middle line to move automatically during the stretching process so I end up with two boxes of 6 x 8.
i want to get all text font , text height and text widths on the drawing
Dim ListFont As New List(Of String) For Each TextStyle As AcadTextStyle In ThisDrawing.TextStyles ListFont.Add(TextStyle.fontFile) Next
i used those code can get all text font on the drawing...but i only want to get text font which were used.and i dont know how to get the text height and widths on the drawing.
I am trying to draw 3D models for the first time, and something is confusing me. Sometimes when I draw a rectangle and it asks for a length width and height it seems the width means something else and the width means something else. I think the width means the distance from the z-axis on the XY plane, but then sometimes it is the distance from the Y-axis on teh XZ plane. I am just wondering if there is a good way to keep that a constant, or to remember which the length, width, and height is referring to at any given time.
I've created a data link, linked to my autocad drawing, checked the box to keep excel formatting and update. Once i Import the table, the size of the table is NOTHING like what the size is in excel.
I have my page layout in excel to be 11 x 17 landscape. I have my table at about 9 1/4 x 15 landscape. Once I import it into autocad, it is now about 6 3/8 x 20 1/4. I don't know what i'm doing wrong but i need it to transfer just like it is in excel as far as the size of it.
I am drawing an icon holder for a church. However, I got this problem, where I need to change the width of a piece but keep the height. So scaling wouldn't work as scaling would change both the width and height.
I can't use trim and cut from the middle as there is a block in the middle of it. and if I do that it will cut the block in all location.
I'd like to apply a property set to a dimension, tag it, and have the tag display the dimension value. This tag would be remote from the dimension, and on a separate layer, which would remain on when the dimension layer is frozen.
At present, the property set for dimensions appears not to include the dimension value.
I am creating an upper cabinet which has a fixed height but you can select different widths. What our firm does is also list the size of the cabinet. What I would like to do is make this font some sort of preset attribute and control it with the visibility states. I also want to control the font height by the scale of the drawing. my question is I if its possible and how? I've attached what I have thus far. The attribute is in teh top right corner and is justified as top right. The only way I can get this to work is if I manually adjust the font after its inserted into the drawing.
I am trying to create a custom message box with variable width and height by passing width height title and list of text. I can get the routine to work if I use preset width and height, but would like to make the box adjustable.
I want to specify a selection, is there a way to do that, or to show what pixel number you are on in Photoshop 7.0? I have an image that is 200w X 127h. I am going to be slicing this into two different images. My top image needs to be 200w X 91h and the lower 200w X 36h.
I am having trouble creating custom schedule tags. I have followed the tutorial "to create a schedule tag", but it does not work for me. First off it is not annotative, I created it in 1 to 1 scale and checked the plotting scale to ensure it is 1 to 1.
Also, it creates the block, and I get it into the tool pallet, but when selected, it just inserts a block. I am trying to create a door tag, so when I select it from the tool pallet, it does not ask me to select a door to tag, just inserts the block.
The tag I want to create is very simple, I want to modify the OTTB Door Tag - Project Based, to remove the suffix and center the door number.
The architect has a schedule set up that will schedule his room numbers and names. He draws spaces for each room.
I want to add perimeter and area to this. I copied this room schedule in the tool pallete, renamed it with "trial", added columns for perimeter and area, BUT STILL GET ? FOR VALUES!
I've looked everywhere and it should work. When I look at "properties" of the space it shows area and perimeter, but I can't figure out how to extract the info.
