If there isn't, can it be done with python scripting? Would it take me a long time to learn how to write such a script assuming I know a bit of Python (as used in Blender), but haven't done any scripting with GIMP?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to save only one of the color channels, for example the magenta channel of my .tiff image. How do I do that? Every time I save my image I just get a grayscale image, even though I'm able to see the magenta channel just fine.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe pictures came out fine. But then I upgraded to a (then) newer version of ACDSee, and the first time I opened the folder with these pictures in them, ACDSee turned them all magenta. ACDSee claims that this is impossible – but I assure you it happened...
I’ve posted one of the pictures here, including a screen shot of the Info pallet while the cursor is over an area of the image. As you can see, there isn’t any info for the yellow or black channels.
My question is – is there any hope for restoring the proper color to these images? I‘ve played around a bit with Curves, Hue & saturation, etc. - but getting natural color has eluded me. [URL]
Recently I noticed the histogram in PS4 displaying color channels instead of luminosity. And all three RGB colors seem to spike off the top of the window. Is there a way to only display the luminosity histogram curve? Also, how often would be considered normal to have to re-set preferences?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got a folder containing 170 pics. They are all DCS 1.0 files which means that folder actually contains 850 items (4 channels-files per pic + preview file).
I need to open each one of 170 pics and save them as EPS (either binary or JPEG - doesn't matter). If I try to automate it, it actually tries to open every channel instead of opening only the preview file.
I need to send vectorized art to this company that only uses Illustrator. I have never used or even opened Illustrator. Ok, I'm very familiar with Freehand so I get the basic idea about vector. I have a 3 color logo that I have saved as a Photoshop DCS .eps file with the channels saved as spot colors so I can print separations with Pantone colors. According to what I have translated from the Photoshop guide what I need to do is figure out how to get my clipping paths of each channel to retain its fill when I export paths to Illustrator. I've tried and when I open the vectorized paths in say Freehand there is only lines and no fills. Do you guys have any ideas on how I can get these file seperations to this company with Illustrator?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm aiming to take RAW photo files, edit them in a wide color space, and when posting them to the web, save them as sRGB.
My workspace is as follows:
I open RAW files in Photoshop via ACR as 16-bit ProPhoto smart objects. When I finish editing them, I use "Save for Web" with the "Convert to sRGB" and "Embed Color Profile" boxes checked.
Photoshop and Bridge tell me the profile in photos saved as such is sRGB as expected. When I upload to a site like flickr, however, the metadata says the photo is still in ProPhoto. See an example here: [URL]...If I use "Convert to Profile" and change it to sRGB, then upload to flickr, the metadata says the photo is in sRGB, as it should be.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have three different pictures in separate files, and I want to overlay them as red, green and blue channels in a new file. (the images represent the different color channels obtained from fluorescence microscopy, and I just want them back in one picture).
I guess it´s pretty easy, but I don´t manage to get all 3 pictures into 1 as 3 separate channels.
Is there a preference in GIMP to display color channels in grayscale? Rather I should ask, has this issue been resolved because I know at one time it was a big difference between PS and the GIMP. And yes, I know that I can decompose and recompose...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was an easy way to view individual color channels (Red, Green, Blue) in the viewer, and if so what the shortcuts are. I know you can do this simply in flame but can't seem to find a way to do it in Smoke.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn illustrator, how do you change a photoshop spot color channel that has been imported into illustrator. Ever since Illustrator CS2 you could import a psd into Illustrator and you could ungroup the channels and change the colors. How do you do that in CS3-6? I have been trying to figure this out for years. My old computer with Illustrator 10 is about to die and so will my ability to do what I descried above.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a very simple PSD, so i'll try to explain this super simply..
one transparent layer, with just a pair or eyebrows, with the only added blend effect as 'multiply'
one background with a face, no eyebrows.
the layer blends the eyebrows in to the background face perfectly.
i want to save the layer as a separate file keeping the tranparency and including the result of the multiply effect, without the background.
the reason why i want to do this may confuse things, but basically i want several different eyebrow colours to be interchangeable over this face in an application that doesn't recognise the blending link with the background, so i want to save it in PS !
For my presentation in class tomorrow, I have to be able to show each individual layer of my vector portrait to show midtones, highlights, shadows, etc. How can I keep my layers separate when I save my picture? Everytime I save it, when I reopen it, the layers are merged into one layer.

Has anybody got any idea why?
My old version of photoshop 6, allows you to save alpha channels!
I've been playing around with the gradient map tool, and love the randomize and noise option to give me nice looking gradients for my images.... my question is, is there a way to "extract" or "split" the colors of the randomized map into its separate colors as if I was creating them manually with the "solid" option?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to save all the layers I have in my PSD file as separate layers in a folder that I created. I trying to do this by going to File- Scripts- Export Layers to Files but when I set it up and do this I get an error message saying:
"General Photoshop error occured. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop. -The command "Duplicate" is not currently available."
I am not sure why this is saying "this version" considering I installed it not too long ago and the document has been made a few days ago meaning I never even used another version of photoshop. I have all the layers visible too and even selected them. I am using Photoshop CS6 by the way.
I am trying to take a 3" sq 11 gauge tube that will have a pie shaped cut out of the tube leaving only one wall remaining. The tube then will be bent until the two sections are mated and welded. The tube is going to be processed on a tube laser to have the features cut out.
The problem is when I bend the tube in inventor I need a straight version of the tube for cad/cam programming and fabrication and not have it affect the bend feature that is placed in the weldment. I do no want to derive a part and save a separate version in the vault. I would like it all to be in one model.
I try to create a view representation and name it "straight" and suppress the bend feature in the new representation but it changes in both representations of the part.
Is there a way to have two different view representations of the part (suppressed bend feature, unsuppressed bend feature) that I can switch between?
I have used Photoshop for several years, but I didn't take the time to lean allot of what it can do.I'm going through Lynda.com videos now and starting to get a little better understanding.
I bought some vector eps files from Shutterstock. Most of these vectors are a bunch of smaller image elements.(For Instance Icons)What I would like to do is to find a way to batch crop all of the layers out of the eps and into png files.Of course they would need slightly different names.
I have seen where you can do something similar, but the smaller images are on a full size transparent background. I would prefer that they are auto cropped.I have the full CS6 Through Adobe Creative Cloud. So I can use illustrator for part of this if needed.
