Photoshop :: Extract Or Split Colors Of Randomized Map Into Its Separate Color

Jan 31, 2011

I've been playing around with the gradient map tool, and love the randomize and noise option to give me nice looking gradients for my images.... my question is, is there a way to "extract" or "split" the colors of the randomized map into its separate colors as if I was creating them manually with the "solid" option?

AutoCad :: Separate Color In The Same Layer And System

Aug 19, 2011

I'm working in Magi-cad, and have received a file from a colleague that has quit the office... Somehow he seems to have been able to switch the line-color within the same system and layer without using the normal line color / layer interface. So I was wondering if there are any other ways to separate color in the same layer and system?

GIMP :: Separate Color Palette For Each GIF Frame?

Apr 26, 2013

I'm trying to make a slideshow GIF with about 12 pictures. The problem is that when I convert the image from RGB to indexed, the quality of the pictures are horrible (dithering didn't work). I tried isolating 1 picture from the other 11 layers, and converting it to indexed had great quality.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the problem is that the color palette is too generic, since the palette has to include all colors needed for all 12 pictures

According to wikipedia, the GIF "allows a separate palette of 256 colors for each frame".

Is it possible to create GIFs with separate color palettes for each frame?

Illustrator :: Set Color Pantone In A Separate Sheet

Jun 19, 2012

I have an image which opens in illustrator and has an RGB preview.I need to print in CMYK, but when I convert the colours add strange percentages to the colour ie 17.65% etc.The image has a set colour Pantone in a separate sheet, but bares no resemblance to the breakdown color. If I put the Pantone colour into Photoshop and Illustrator I get slightly different CMYK breakdowns. How do I know which program is giving me the correct breakdown and is there a quick way of linking everything up so we are singing off the same hymn sheet?

For instance

Pantone Hexachrome Black M in PS CS5 is C74/M58/Y58/B57
Pantone Hexachrome Black M in iLL CS5 is C1/M1/Y/B100

Photoshop :: How To Separate Text From Background

Jun 24, 2011

I have made a digital picture of a book page with my digital camera. My camera is a 12 mpix digital camera and it should make good digital pictures, at least in theory. The original picture made by the camera was 4000 - 3000 pixels big and I made a small chunk out of it which you can find in the attachment.

My problem is how to isolate text from the background to make almost perfect text selection. I need text for the OCR procedure so the text selection needs to be appropriate.

I have already tried some simple methods like magic wand, contrasts, brightness etc but this things look like a game to me. I would like to know if there is a systematic approach (channels, masks) to perfectly isolate black color from the rest of the picture and how to apply it.

Photoshop :: How To Separate Colors Into Layers

Dec 1, 2011

I have several icons that I would like to recolor. My thought was to figure out how to normalize and image colors (based around your 9 basic colors, black, white, red, green, orange, blue, yellow, purple, brown). Then I want to separate those colors into their own layer. I would prefer to doe this in an action as well.

Would it be possible to separate the text from the background, as in make the white background transparent (Or as close as possible)? Normally I would use the Alpha feature on Keynote, but the font is too tricky for me to do that. It would be amazing if you could remove the background and keep all the text (including cup).

Photoshop :: Separate Shape Layers?

Jul 31, 2006

I try to use the circle, rectangle or line tool, it forms a new layer wich cannot be edited directly. I found a way to get around the "not being able to edit directly" part (by rasterizing the layer) but I don't know how to get all the shapes into one layer.

For example, when I draw a rectangle, it forms a new layer which I have to rasterize. Then when I draw lines in rectangle, it is part of a new layer, which once again, I have to rasterize. Now that I have these lines in a rectangle, I tried coloring 1/3 of the rectangle blue using the first line as a closing line. It ended up coloring my whole screen. I tried grouping the layers and then coloring.

Photoshop :: Pen Tool For Multiple Separate Lines?

Aug 27, 2013

I am trying to use the pen tool to develop a rail road switchyard layout.  It is a main line with multiple lines coming off of it.  How do you make the settings so it does not expect you to close the path?

I want the mainline to be one path, and each switch line to be a separate path.  Then I can stroke each path.  Can't figure out how to end the path and start a new one as it wants to make it all one continuous path.

Photoshop :: Recording What's On Screen In CS5 On Separate Layer

May 4, 2012

Is there any way to record a Photoshop maneuver like airbrushing onto an otherwise transparent layer so the end result is an animation? The real world equivalent of what I'm trying to do would be to have a video camera behind glass and a spray can spraying the glass from the other side.

I know there are programs that record what's on screen but I don't think they allow you to have a transparent layer. I may be able to use one of those programs and key out the non airbrush background. I'd like to be able to import the animation into Premiere so it looks like paint has been sprayed over whatever clip is underneath the airbrushing frames.
