I installed it and every time I try to make a picture use the 2012 item it forces me to use the old one. I have never seen such a useless go round the pole! Far as I see it does nothing. At least LR4 lets you use the thing. If this is what it does how do I uninstall?

My video clips play in sequence with thumbnails in full screen view, but freeze and shutdown software in slideshow mode. My goal is to burn slides and clips and show on TV via dvd player. Why does everything work fine in full screen mode and not in slideshow mode?
I did notice that zoom in or out in camera raw is slow , even in middle pc , i'm not talking about hi end pc but i did find it's amazing fast if use process 2003 or 2010. May i use like default the 2003 or 2010 ? How can i do it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast week we started having an issue with one of the AutoCAD 2010 installs, When she would go to plot (to any plotter or PDF) the plot process would just hang up and continue to show (in the lower right corner) that it was working, sometimes it would actually print the page but it wouldn't format it right, This morning a second install started doing it too. I chacked and ran though the proceedure for ACAD.VLX virus and it still is doing this. After autocad sits there for a minute showing the plot process the addons reload. I have tried plotting with no addons loaded and I am still getting the same problem.
Machine software config:
Windows 7 64 bit
Autocad 2010 32bit loaded
Microvellum 6.7 addon
I've just exported as catalog 2 images from an older catalog ( process version 2010 into LR5. there was no way to automatically convert them to 2012 process.I had to turn on the calibration panel in Develop mode and then set it to 2012 and then copy the 2012 calibration to the other image.

As a check, I checked this by exporting 1 image that was process version 2010 into LR5 and it automatically made it 2013,

Then I checked it again, imported a catalog from LR 4.3 which had only process version 2010 images in. The import upgraded and disgarded the temp library used in the upgrade process, and again, there was no option to automatically convert the images to PV2013.

I'm trying to run my cleanup script on a set of drawings just received from a consultant. Unfortunately every time a DWG is opened the purge fails with:
PURGE cannot be used on partially opened drawings.
Now to get the file opened NON-partially, I have to first open as partial and click the "Load All" button and "Yes" to bloodywell open it normally. Then the purge actually "works".
This needs to be done manually. Yet even after I've done this and then saved the DWG again, another normal open again gives the same error about Purge not allowed.
how to get the DWG to open non-partially when I'm running my SCR? I don't want to clean the 80+ drawings manually.
I am having issues with my computer completely freezing while performing a File, Open process. I'm in drawing 1, I save it, then go to open drawing 2. Drawing 1 will save, the open file window pops up. With me so far? While navigating through the file directory tree, my computer freezes. I do not chose a file that freezes during opening. It is during the process of getting to the folder drawing 2 resides in, and then it freezes. This happens to me multiple times a day. Ctrl +Alt+Delete will not work. I have tried letting my computer sit, as you would with a program not responding, and it doesn't unfreeze. The only option I am left with is a hard reboot. The only other program I have running is my MS Outlook.
I have been back and forth with our IT person, and because he can't replicate the problem (after trying one file open), he can't figure it out, or doesn't want to.
I am running AutoCad 2012 with a Dell Precision T3500, 2.13ghz, intell xenon E5506 processor, and 4gb of RAM. After looking at the system requirements, and reading that 2012 needs a 3.0 or higher processor, could this be the route of my issue?
The installation process presented an error during the stage of FARO LS 1.1.406.58.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to properly stress test a steel aircraft fuselage. I can easily model the estimated weight of the pilot, copilot, etc as loads on the airframe. However, when it comes to simulating a high-G situation, (a load factor of around 7.5 times the force of gravity), I am not sure what to do. On one hand, I can simply multiply the loads on the airframe by the load factor and see if the frame can take it. In most cases, it performs very poorly, (safety factor less than 1). However, if I model all the loads under normal conditions, (normal pilot weight, etc.), then add a gravity load equal to 7.5 G, the airframe performs well. Yet I am not sure if the loads on the airframe, (such as pilot weight), are being adjusted along with the increased gravitational load.Â
My question is, what is the best way to accurately simulate real world loading for high-G situations?
If you can imagine a cylinder sliding on curve joint. Let’s say the curve is in the XY plane. In the output grapher it is possible to display the force as the cylinder slides around the curve. However if I understand it correctly the magnitude of the force will be in the direction perpendicular to the point of contact between the cylinder and the curve? In which case is it possible to actually find out the individual X and Y components of the force? That is to say the magnitude of the force in the X or Y plane of the curve?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am designing wing ribs for a prototype, ribs made with fir wood; I must make cuts in the ribs in the form of circles or triangles to reduce the weight but keep the strength. I think I will use circles because a triangle's corners can be starting points for fissures(maybe triangles with rounded corners?).
Given: wood type,fiber alignment, rib dimensions, pattern of circles and circles' diameters, can Autocad calculate the forces that rib can withstand on each axis ox,oy,oz?
Is there another program that can tell me what forces an object can withstand given information about that object?
In upgrading to LR4 I wish to keep my process 2010 photos as process 2010. There is no need to redo them because the update pretty much forces you to start again with most processed photos.

My problem is that I now find that LR4 greys out the detail and color sliders for Luminance and color noise reductionas if they are process 2003 photos. That is, I do not have access to the detail and color for the noise reduction section.

I can only assume this is a bug or that Adobe have changed the Noise reduction engine.

I am looking for the reaction forces at fixed boundaries, but I can't find how I can get them. Displacement, stresses, strains, everything works, but where are reaction forces?
How the PMS color palettes "simulate" on screen how the color will print on different substrates (glossy vs matte vs uncoated paper). That's great for comps, but if you convert it to CMYK to print it, and the values are representing a "simulated" color it won't look correct (by that I mean come close to matching the spot color). For example, the uncoated palette simulates the color by making them appear a bit washed out on screen - pretty good visual simulation. But it might do so by adding black and cyan to orange for example, etc. - effectively dulling the original color.
So if I convert that to CMYK within the new Pantone + color palette, and then send it to the printer - it won't appear as it did on screen, it will dull the end color even more because it's converted the color to the dull simulated version - what a disaster! It's only doing half the job - showing us what it should look like on screen. In order to be truly efficient for design professionals the CMYK conversion might remove black and cyan completely to effectively brighten the color in the final output on uncoated paper. I would prefer it just stick to the standard conversion, which Pantone did have as a standard palette option (PMS to process), and then I can adjust if I think it's necessary.

Any corporate branding system will likely start with a PMS spot color palette for the identity. Then it will build into many different adaptations - full color brochures, large format banners and trade show graphics, website, advertising. So any corporate branding system will need to have PMS, CMYK and RGB versions of their main corporate color palette. There was a standard for these translations that was automatically consistent in the Adobe software and that is now all over the place, so it relies on individuals manually adapting the color mixes for final use - what a great way to screw things up.

I never use DNG, and am not aware of, and after a lot of searching, cannot find anywhere in the LR4.3 preferences at which I specified DNG conversion. In the Auto0Import dialog there is a File-handling tab that offers one choice: how to spell the dng suffix. The files I want to import will come in as CR2., and testing this with other folder destinations and with Canon's EOS Utility prove that the camera is "sending" CR2 files.
During the HDR process in CS6 a menu come up with an assortment of adjustments. I am able to grab the sliders and slide them from end to end of the adjustments, however as far as I can tell there is no effect on the image.

I'm trying to install Photoshop CC on my sony vaio laptop ( windows 7 ) but everytime I try to install it the install process stops at 62%. I have the completeadobe master collection CS4 installed on my laptop but none of the programmes are currently running and I do have lots of disk space left.

After terminating the process photoshop.exe and retry it opens again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo just a few questions here, I have a process where I go through my RAW D800 photos and do general touch-ups in camera, but have been wanting to do skin touch-ups in photoshop. My problem lies in the photo sizes (45mb per RAW photo to begin with). Is there any sort of way to make a workflow that would allow me to retain the raw photos and seperate photoshop files in a convenient manner?
I'm simply looking to avoid having 2GB folder for just a few images, and wondering if there's maybe some appropriate file formats for that.
What is the process by which new lens and camera models are incorporated in raw processing? Is the process manufacturer, Adobe, or other driven. In particular, when if ever should I find a raw update for CS5 that includes the Nikon 70-200MM F/4 and the D7100 camera?

What I want to do:Â Scan a typical photo that is 6 by 6 inches at 6400 dpi as a bitmap, for utmost quality

What I tried:Â File -> Import -> Images from device -> then selected my scanner, set it to scan at 6400 dpi and save as a bitmap

My problem: When the scanner head is done scanning and the progress bar for scanning the image completes and moves to the next step (presumably writing the image to the file), PS crashes and gives me an error log. It is far too detailed for me. I have no problem scanning images at lower resolutions like 1200 dpi. But this scanner is capable of 6400 dpi and I want to take full advantage of it. I cannot use the scanner software that came with teh scanner because tech support told me the scanner software has a 1.something GB file limit size. They told me 3rd party software like PS should be able to scan unlimited file sizes. I suspect the file size migh be too large (16 GB)

My question: Is this a bug in the trial or something? Should PS be able to scan a 6 by 6 inch photo at 6400 dpi and save it as a bitmap?

I would lik eto scan this image at 6400 dpi.
completely remove the white background. Because this will be a batch process that includes others lighter hats, I can only use a maximum of 10 as a tolerance. When placed on a black background, it reflects some white fringe.
I'm starting with the Magic Eraser (10 tolerance), then doing Layer/Matting/Defringe, and no matter what tolerance I apply there (up to 20), some white pixels remain around the edge. Very frustrating to find a happy medium process in order to batch various colors to an acceptable quality.
I have to go through and extract/delete the backgrounds of about 230 photos. Each and every one I have to go through multiple save dialogs, choose compression, etc. Is there a way that I could simply overwrite the original file with the one that I deleted the background from, thus saving a large amount of time in my workflow?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Elements 9 and Premiere 9 on Windows 7n machines, and still have the discs for Windows and for Mac, with serial numbers. I am now changing to an iMac on Mavericks, without a DVD player, so copied the discs to memory sticks. However the "Install" process would not run and I was directed to Adobe Support Adviser, which I downloaded and ran. It "could find no problem" and collected data for a Suppotrt Case.
