Jan 29, 2012I downloaded inventor 2012 64bit onto my computer running windows vista. Before I could install it I'd that I needed the windows vista service pack 2. After downloading and installing that it also said that I need the 971138. I also downloaded and installed that. My problem is when I install inventor 2012. It comes up with the following error: Error 1308. Source file not found. C:AutodeskAutodesk_Inventor_2012_English_Win_64bitx64InventorProgram FilesAutodeskInventor 2012Bingranite60md.dll. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. It gives me the option of either retry or cancel, therefore I cannot complete the installation.

Sep 9, 2013I recently moved a user to a new PC and setup AutoCAD 2011 after resetting the license through the helpdesk. All works well, however when the user opens her drawings created in the old installation, all the fonts are too big and possibly the wrong type. There are other installations in the office which open the same files/drawings and the fonts/tect appears perfect.
So the question is, how do I transfer the settings from an existing installation, or better yet, how do I specifiy the default font for all drawings?

Jul 11, 2011Last weekend I installed Gimp 2.6.11. The installation went fine. However During the startup process of Gimp I get a message from file wmf.exe that icuuc40.dll is missing. As suggested I removed and installed Gimp again. I still get the message. Gimp works fine.
What is this file and how can get rid of the message?
I have Windows 7. Gimp is installed in Program Files (x86).

May 30, 2012I have been using Ulead VideoStudio / Corel VideoStudio since the 4SE version and made all upgrades, up to X4.On April 1, 2012, I purchased then the UG from VS X4 Pro to VS X5 Pro and downloaded the software through the link provided by Corel.
I start the installation, enter the S/N of X5 and X4 (because I purchased an upgrade).But installation always stops with an error message at the following step: "Please wait while we configure Microsoft Visual C+++ 2005 Redistributable"
The error message is: "1: ALLUSERS property is not 1 - this MSM cannot be used for a per-user or fallback-to-per-user install".
What I already tried so far...I already uninstalled VS X4 and used the "VS_Cleanup", but the error persists. Meanwhile, I contacted Corel support, and they recommended to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ and then to re-install it. I followed their instructions and uninstalled all instances of Microsoft Visual C++ and then re-installed the latest version, i.e. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (x64).However, the same problem persists.
Meanwhile, I tried many other approaches: I moved the installation file (.exe file) to the desktop and tried the installation from there, I tried the installation as another user (equally with administrator rights), I tried to install under Windows Safe Mode (this failed, since some necessary drivers or software was apparently not loaded), removed any remaining traces of VS X4 manually and made a registry clean up, etc.Note also that all latest updates of Windows and related software are made.
I also re-downloaded the installation file, in order to make sure there is no problem with a corrupt installation file.
Video standard: PAL/SECAM, manually selected during the installation process.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Plot Process Hanging
Jan 30, 2012Last week we started having an issue with one of the AutoCAD 2010 installs, When she would go to plot (to any plotter or PDF) the plot process would just hang up and continue to show (in the lower right corner) that it was working, sometimes it would actually print the page but it wouldn't format it right, This morning a second install started doing it too. I chacked and ran though the proceedure for ACAD.VLX virus and it still is doing this. After autocad sits there for a minute showing the plot process the addons reload. I have tried plotting with no addons loaded and I am still getting the same problem.
Machine software config:
Windows 7 64 bit
Autocad 2010 32bit loaded
Microvellum 6.7 addon

The welcome screen opens, but choosing either Editor or Organiser has no result. If I try to run Editor directly from the Elements 11 folder in Progam File (x386) I receive the error message "Error 5". I have uninstalled and reinstalled (as administrator), but I continue to receive the same message. I am running Windows 7 (64bit), and other Adobe products run fine (Lightworks, Acrobat).

Sep 6, 2011I am having issues with my computer completely freezing while performing a File, Open process. I'm in drawing 1, I save it, then go to open drawing 2. Drawing 1 will save, the open file window pops up. With me so far? While navigating through the file directory tree, my computer freezes. I do not chose a file that freezes during opening. It is during the process of getting to the folder drawing 2 resides in, and then it freezes. This happens to me multiple times a day. Ctrl +Alt+Delete will not work. I have tried letting my computer sit, as you would with a program not responding, and it doesn't unfreeze. The only option I am left with is a hard reboot. The only other program I have running is my MS Outlook.
I have been back and forth with our IT person, and because he can't replicate the problem (after trying one file open), he can't figure it out, or doesn't want to.
I am running AutoCad 2012 with a Dell Precision T3500, 2.13ghz, intell xenon E5506 processor, and 4gb of RAM. After looking at the system requirements, and reading that 2012 needs a 3.0 or higher processor, could this be the route of my issue?
