I have been using Ulead VideoStudio / Corel VideoStudio since the 4SE version and made all upgrades, up to X4.On April 1, 2012, I purchased then the UG from VS X4 Pro to VS X5 Pro and downloaded the software through the link provided by Corel.
I start the installation, enter the S/N of X5 and X4 (because I purchased an upgrade). But installation always stops with an error message at the following step: "Please wait while we configure Microsoft Visual C+++ 2005 Redistributable"
The error message is: "1: ALLUSERS property is not 1 - this MSM cannot be used for a per-user or fallback-to-per-user install".
What I already tried so far...I already uninstalled VS X4 and used the "VS_Cleanup", but the error persists. Meanwhile, I contacted Corel support, and they recommended to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ and then to re-install it. I followed their instructions and uninstalled all instances of Microsoft Visual C++ and then re-installed the latest version, i.e. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (x64).However, the same problem persists.
Meanwhile, I tried many other approaches: I moved the installation file (.exe file) to the desktop and tried the installation from there, I tried the installation as another user (equally with administrator rights), I tried to install under Windows Safe Mode (this failed, since some necessary drivers or software was apparently not loaded), removed any remaining traces of VS X4 manually and made a registry clean up, etc.Note also that all latest updates of Windows and related software are made.
I also re-downloaded the installation file, in order to make sure there is no problem with a corrupt installation file.
Video standard: PAL/SECAM, manually selected during the installation process.
Last weekend I installed Gimp 2.6.11. The installation went fine. However During the startup process of Gimp I get a message from file wmf.exe that icuuc40.dll is missing. As suggested I removed and installed Gimp again. I still get the message. Gimp works fine.
What is this file and how can get rid of the message?
I have Windows 7. Gimp is installed in Program Files (x86).
I'm using Lion, and to install the Leopard version of GIMP. I'm getting an error message, and don't know what action to take:
Unable to open a test swap file.
To avoid data loss, please check the location and permissions of the swap directory defined in your Preferences (currently "/Users/myname/Library/Application Support/Gimp").
I tried to install Photoshop CS6. I used the Adobe Download Assistant. During first try of installation my battery of the notebook broke down - I accidentally forgot the charger..When I try now again an installation the Download part with the Assistant works fine but during installation the process does not continue anymore after this step ..The "progress-bar" of this dialog completes but after this nothing happens.
I tried this several times.I also tried to clean the registry (Ccleaner) - no success.
My notebook: Acer Aspire 5920G Win7 32bit Photoshop CS6 via Adobe Dowload Assistant
I've tried installing the purchased downloaded version of the software to two different Windows 7 64 machines and installation just stops on the first screen. "Next" never becomes active. Corel told me to delete my temp files and I've done that, to no avail. I had the same thing happen with the trial version and just figured that they would have fixed the for sale version.
As you can see by the screen shot i'm on 10.9 ? I was on 10.6.8 but did the upgrade so I could load lightroom 5 ... and now I'm still getting this message?
I have downloaded the trial version of CS4. When installing the download stops at the Initializing stage with Checking System Profile bar stuck at 90%.
The PC has CS3 and Lightroom installed and both run well. The PC has 500 GB HD and 3 GB of ram I have tried to install with and without the virus checker switched on. I have tried also as Administrator, I have run both Win install clean up and the CS4 Clean Script.
I am attempting to import images from a memory card via a card reader, using Copy in the Import dialog. The destination folder is on an external hard drive. There is no second copy, and I have deleted any previous second copy destinations.
LR can see the images on the card, but when I select Import, the progress bar moves along and a few hours later there are no images either added to the catalog nor copied to the external hard drive. If I watch the destination folder in Finder I can see that there are a whole lot of temporary folders being made and erased each with the file name of the photo, but there is no permanent transfer of data to the external hard drive. The error message is as follows "lightroom 5 could not copy a file to the requested location" and there is a list of the numbers of images (which is all of them) that were not copied or added to the catalog.
I have tried a different card reader. I have checked and double checked that I have read and write permissions on the external hard drive. I have checked that I have read and write permissions on all the Lightroom folders in the Application Support folder.
To make matters worse when I purchased LR5 upgrade initially I was able to import like normal on both of my computers, and today neither one will allow me to import via LR. I have not imported images for about a month on either machine but prior to that there was no problem.
I am able to add photos to the catalog from the external hard drive once transferred from the card, but I wanted to avoid this for time management reasons and also because I like to rename on Import.
I have been using Lightroom to catalog my images on my Mac for three years now. All of the sudden a month ago, I tried opening the program to import new photographs and it gave me this error message "Lightroom Quit Unexpectedly" click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically. So, after many attempts, I decided that I would try reloading the original software which I purchased. It will not open the program.
I am getting this message (/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter/Filter/pdftopdf.app/Contents/M acOS/pdftopdf failed) when trying to print through the LR4 print module to my Epson 3880
I am running OSX 10.7.3 and have just downloaded and installed Epson driver v8.64.
I'm receiving an error message everytime I open Lightroom followed by it immidiately closing then telling me it will fix the problem when it launches the next time. The error message is:
Lightroom is having problems reading it's preview cache and needs to quit
How can I fix this problem without losing all of my images.
I am using a USB card reader to download images to LR4. When I plug the reader into the USB port I get an error message saying, "images on card do not meet download criteria". The thumbnails appear in Library mode but when I click on "Import", another error message appears saying the files could not be read.
As recently as last week I successfully downloaded images from the same card. As usual I reformatted the card before going on today's shoot.
I'm the only user on a new PC with Windows 7, with admimistrator privileges, and able to move files by LR 4.3 between these two drives. I use Thunderbird for email, and have validated my outgoing account in LR's Email Account Manager. My OS and apps are in drive D:, a HDD, and the main LR catalog is in drive C:, a SSD. In attempting to send email from LR I get the error message "unable to create temporary files on the volume C:" Attempting to email from a second catalog that resides in D, I get "unable to create temporary files on the volume D.
I am occasionally getting an error message when trying to view .MOV files from a Nikon D600: Video System Error: unknown Message: BindSuccess. Once that error pops up, I cannpt view any movies until I restart Lightroom. However, I do not have any problems viewing any of the files with Windows Media Player. What is causing this? I have an AMD Radeon 6700 HD series video card and a lot of RAM.
I have used Lightroom for awhile and now I cant import any images. I recently got a new camera (D600) and thought that that was the problem but i cant get any images to import. Even form my D7000. I have checked my disc permissions and updated everything i can. What am I missing? I keep receiving an error message 535 files cannot be read. I am however able to import images onto my desktop and into Apeture....
LR will not run after receiving an error message regarding preview cache and needs to quit. What do I do. I have the Cloud monthly subscription. Photoshop works fine. Have also reinstalled.
When I try ti import I get this error message: 'Error loading toolkit script 'ImportCompactDataSource (not enough memory)' And I can't import anything. I can't seem to fid a common error online, either.
I've already tried purging the cache in preferences. Didn't seem to work.
I'm a photography student at the Art Institute's online division. I've been working with LR 3 for the past couple of weeks. Suddenly the program shut down; I got an error message from Windows, saying it would keep looking for a solution, but then I couldn't even open Lightroom at all. I was having the same problem with PhotoShop from the Creative Design Suite 5.5.
I uninstalled both programs, then re-installed. Now PhotoShop's fine, but Lightroom is still doing (or rather NOT doing) what it was before, with the same error message.
Oh--one more thing. I recently bought a Nikon D5100, so I uploaded the two software disks when I was ready to transfer photos directly from the camera to my laptop. I don't THINK this is the problem, since I didn't start using Lightroom until after I uploaded the Nikon software, and both worked fine last week. However, just in case, I uninstalled the Nikon software & haven't yet re-installed that.
I have run LR 3 for some time and it has worked well. I have been away and when I now wish to run the program I get an error from Microsoft C++ runtime library saying that the program has requested to terminate in an unusual way. Re-installing LR has not solved the problem
When trying to import files to Lightroom 4 from my camera or a file folder, there is an error message that reads "files could not be read". This just started a week ago and I'm not sure what changed to cause the problem. I use a Canon 7D and I shoot in RAW.
