View 1 RepliesI am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise. I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom. I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book. I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book. I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have made a book in the book module and was really looking forward to send it to Blurb for printing. I push the "Send book to Blurb... " button but nothing happens. I have tried to export to PDF and JPEG aswell, but nothing. I am Connected to internet, I have an account at Blurb but no reaction. Are there any settings I have missed or are there any bugs that prevents me from exporting? Do Blurb ship to Norway or is that the problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to up load a 40 page 12" x 12" photo book to Blurb from the book module in Lightroom 4.2. It renders the pages and then having rendered the cover gets stuck, about 50% to 60% through the process. None of the photographs are starred or colour coded. I have uploaded successfully from this iMac in the last few weeks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just spent half a day designing my first book in LR 4. I completed the book a few minutes ago, and it was only then that I realized I don't seem to be able to export as a Jpeg or as a spread--only as a PDF, and then only single pages, so each spread is chopped in half.
LR is supposed to be a pro tool and this book module seems to be acting more like a consumer tool. If I am correct, then the entire module is basically useless to me and I have wasted half a days work, as I'll have to begin all over again in a new program.
I'm unable to upload my photo book to Blurb. I sent the almost identical book two weeks ago without issue. I have since made a few minor changes and now I cannot upload. I've tried 5 times, with and without a Cover Page, and it hangs about mid-way through the upload.
I am running LR 4.4 on Windows 7.
Is there somewhere one can download a chart that shows the character and style of the type faces that Lightroom 4 provides for the Blurb Book module?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have placed a photo on a two-page spread as a background graphic. It appears twice - on the left and right pages. All I want is a background image spread over the two pages. Is this possible with the Background Graphic feature?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI've just published my first book on Blurb. Looks great but all the pages are offset by one in Blurb when compared to my LR original. So all the pages that are on the left in Lightroom are on the right in the Blurb version. I can easily add another page and re-publish but it un-nerves me when things are inconsistent.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs does Export to JPEG and Send Book to Blurb. No dialog box, no error message, no crash. When I click the button with any of the export options, absolutely nothing happens. This is with a 6-page sample spread. I am using the 4.1 trial version on Snow Leopard.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't seem to be able to find a page numbering option for my book to view at proofing time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDid Adobe really miss out on an absolutely fundamental requirement in the book module? I finished my book, went to add page numbers to do the location index, but can't find anything that would automate it. Do I really have to fat finger page numbers? If so you've got to be kidding. Books require page numbering. How could they be so ridiculous as to miss this important function? I'll see if I can take the time to rebuild the book in Blurb's bookify.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI saw a video about customizing a layout in the book module. I need to replicate a layout used for story boards. see attached. I found some pages that have a grid of photos. Is there any way to start from scratch or edit a multi photo page? I'd like the text elements as well. This would be an amazing time saver in preparing a story board book.

View 3 Replies View Relatedand for all of us thousands of users who DO NOT LIVE in the United States to be able to use our own photo-book vendors (who the hell is Blurb anyway?), and for you to give us a SIMPLE ability to be able to define custom page sizes.
But no, we have to go through five versions of lightroom, and STILL NOT have this really simple feature which would make the lives of literally thousands of hard working photographers easier.
Adobe, and all you wonderful people who made this marvellous piece of software, realise this: there exist many, many, many people who have bought your software -- who have no idea what Blurb is, and have no inclination of using it. enable custom page sizes so that we may use local vendors -- who have thoughtfully set page sizes that do not match the inbuilt ones.
I haven't been able to find any zoom levels between full-page view and the Ctrl-U zoom that seems to be 1:1. At full page, 12 point text is very difficult to read and edit and anything smaller is impossible. At the Ctrl-U zoom level, I get about 40 characters of 12 point text across the screen & proofreading & editing a text box is very time consuming.
View 10 Replies View RelatedThis is probably very easy, but I cant figure it out. Whenever I try to type text on the spine of my lightroom book, Lightroom puts it horizontally. I like to rotate the text on the spine of my book by 90 degrees so that it reads from top to bottom, like on any normal book. How do I do that?
By the way, when I start a new book, the spine text appears correctly by default (rotated by 90 degrees). In my existing book, the text cursor appears only for horizontal flow however, despite using the same design template. Is this a bug or did I accidently change the orientation of the text?
I'm in process of creating a photobook using LR4's Book Module. Whenever I create a multiple columns page or photo caption, the text won't flow from the 1st column into the succeeding column.... The multiple columns feature however does work for normal text placeholders.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBook Module: Export as indd file and management
I would like to request a feature to export a book module as indd file. I like PDF's but .indd is nice also so we are able to to more in depth layouts.
Having Lightoom being able to manage all your pictures and book layouts would be nice, alot of things can be done in one application.
Another Feature: Using Lightoom as book layout management.
Being able to send a page(s) of the book from lightroom into InDesign to do indepth layout and editing, then being able to send it back into lightroom Almost similar to how you can send a photo from LR in Photoshop to do indepth editing and then send it back into lightroom.
This could and will ease the workflow of book management and layout design. So lightroom will not only be able to manage photos, but also indesign and book layouts. [URL]....
I have created a book in LR and exported it as JPGS and modified a few pages in PS with some graphic embellishments. I now want to change a few layouts in LR and only export those few layouts, not the whole book.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running LR4.1 on Windows 7 64 bit with 5D MK ii raw images and just discovered the Book module 'Export Book to JPEG' produces files that do not have output sharpening applied.
Book = JPEG
Size = Standard Landscape
Cover = Hardcover Image Wrap
JPEG Quality = 90
File Resolution = 300 ppi
Sharpening = (Every setting produces the same results)
Media Type = (Every setting produces the same results)
When selecting 'Book = PDF' the sharpening is very obvious and is applied as expected based on the Sharpening setting:
Glossy Low = least sharpening
Matte High = most sharpening
need approval and any changes from client so need to send book pdf as spread - at moment just showing as single page. I can tell them to view two pages but the problem with that is it pushes the pages so they're seeing wrong images next to each other. Is there any software etc to sort this or has adobe already done it & i just need to find it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm still having troubles in uploading the books in Lightroom; I use LR 5.2 with Windows 8 64 bit and even if I turn off the firewall and antivirus, it keeps me saying that there is an error in uploading.
I tried also to remove the background and graphic, but with no luck. I would really like to use this feature, but up to now is not workable. PS: I can save it as *.pdf.
I was testing Lightroom 4 Beta and I prepared a Blurb Book... I worked on it over a period of several days, and it was find, always there... It kind of automatically saved, once it has been created, for what I understood.
Today I was working on a photoshop file to creat a cover for it (no template allowing me to do what I needed inside of Lightroom), and that was the last step before to send it to print.
I had to navigate into the Library module to send pictures to photoshop. And when I get back to the Book module... it was all reset. No picture, only a 2 pages empty project.
I quited without saving anything, hoping to get the software back to where it was, but it didn't work. It seems I lost all my work.
I'm not familliar with apps that save projects on there own. Where is my book? How can I get it back?
I have a 150 page book I am trying to upload from Lightroom to Blurb. It does contain quite a lot of photos (900-ish) and I have tried using a cable as well but to no awail. I am able to download a pdf version.
The process works like this: It starts "rendering" photos which works well. Then it starts "uploading photos" and after a while a pop-up message appears saying that problems have occured and do I want to retry uploading.
I have tried keeping the computer from going to sleep but with the same result.
I just completed and saved a book inLR4 and when I press Send Bpook to Blurb absolutely nothig happens? How do I get all this work to Blurb without losing it?
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I print on my Epson R1900, I have to increase the Brightness (+20) in the Print Module on all prints. There is no corresponding option in the Book Module for sending files to Blurb.How can I make the equivalent adjustment for Blurb?
I am assuming that the Blurb profiles are close enough to the Epson profiles (as far as brightness is concerned).
If I have to edit every single image separately, what is the best way to do this? Is Exposure the equivalent of Brightness in LR 4, and is the metric the same (i.e. increasing by +20 in both)?
