I am an architecture student and love this style of presenting buildings (see attached images). the renders have a dreamy/soft effect which i think would suit my project well. how on earth do i replicate something similar? is it a grunge brush? is it opacity? is it some other tactic?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a layer which includes font that's been merged with another layer. I want it to appear to "ripple". The problem here is I can't just use some random ripple effect. I need to to correspond with the layer below it which is a pic of a wavy piece of paper. So it needs to be accurate enough so that no one will notice.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSimply fill the area that you want filled in with random lightning with black.
After that is done, go to:
1) ->Filter->Render->Clouds
2) -> Filter->Render->Difference Clouds
3) Press Control + I to inverse the colors
4) Press Control L to select the levels
5) Adjust the levels so that the lightning is dimmed but not too much.
And from there you can change the colors by pushing Control U, and click on the "Colorize" check box. Adjust the colors as you wish! and mess with it to get cool effects!
Whilst editing images in photoshop cs3 (using power mac), random horizontal lines are appearing on images. Usuall just one or two and the only way to get rid of them is to edited/erase them out....
I have tried saving and opening image on another mac and it still shows up...
I am designing an album page with text in cs5 on imac~ noticed there are random short light gray lines under text. They are there before I flatten and still after, and even after saving~ are they some sort of a guide line? And my worry is will they show up in printing, is there a way to get rid of them?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow are you all? I hope all is well. I found these pictures, I know they were once actually taken pictures, but the person made them into this grunge look. Do you know any possible ways I could achieve this kind of look. Sorry, I don't have any original pictures. I've tried using the cutout function but it doesn't really get this kind of look from what I did.

See attached drawings from both versions.
Is there something I can do to stop the appearance of random straight lines? They appear to randomly leap out from the tablet pen curser to the edge of the screen. Pressure sensitivity does seem to work--everything works perfectly with the exception of these bizzare lines!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying for years off and on to recreate the look of a Type 55 Polaroid positive/negative effect. There are a few border effects software packages that offer similar effects, but they pale in comparison to the real thing.
I've recently resorted to scanning a Type 55 negative and thought it would be a simple matter to overlay this on an image, but am having difficulty keeping the nuances of the negative. I've tried deleting the white with different opacities and even layer blending options, but nothing concrete yet.
My students draw all of the individual parts of a product as ipt files. Next they create an assembly using those ipt files on a iam template. Next they generate a multiview assembly drawing on a idw template from the iam file. On the idw multiview assembly random visible lines disappear and we are not able to get them back. Students are turning of the visiblity of some of the hidden lines on the idw assembly but not all hidden lines.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow can we recreate the below border effect (not the center content, but the outer border)? In particular, we'd like to recreate the effect whereby the border fades out half way up the content area, and there appears to be a slight gradient which also starts at the bottom and fades out half way up?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have some random curves (already created) and I want to blur them just from one side to have the same blur distance and effect one the whole curve.
To more precisely describe what I need, I need to create gradient with direction of normal for every "point". The best example I have found so far are borders in Civilization IV game. Here are two examples:

As you can see, there is a solid curve, which gradually blends (i.e. alpha channel is lowered) till the gradient disappears. I have the solid curve and the question is, what would be the simplest way how to do this (the number of curves is around 100) gradient.
I'm working on a program that requires me to analyze a series of 3D coordinates (which describe the start and end points of individual lines) and combine those points that are collinear (there are lots of smaller line segments, some of which are co-linear and overlapping in space) into one single line.
how to analyze these points to find out which ones can be combined. For example, I might have 6 lines, 3 are separate and have their own specific orientation, but 3 are overlapping and in the same direction (look as a single line on the screen). I'd like to modify my point list so that it describes 4 lines... (the 3 individual ones and one which combines the 3 overlapping lines).
I'm uploading the .dwg and .txt files. I'm trying to get volume calcs cut and fill between two surfaces and when I compare the data between AGTEK's Highway 3D there is different results. I looked into it to find these random line appearing in Autocad making what seems to be the problem. Where are these coming from and how do I fix? Also, if you could anwser how can I insert a sectional following the 12'-23' offsets and dropping 1.16' down and adding it to my design surface. I want to make a big box there added to design surface.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing Autocad 2014. I recently changed our dimension style fill color to background. Now when we create pdf files, there are random lines either to left of the text or left and top of text. It is not every dimension. We had it set to none before and would trim lines around dimension text. We did not have problems with pdf until changing the fill color. It plots from autocad to plotter without a problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to specify a Photo Border in inches rather than points? Or should I simply divide by 72 to convert points to the inches?
Also, when I have Cut Lines selected, this selected area in red between the two images shows up in the print.
I can change the dark color in the border to any color I want using the stroke color. But I can not change what appears to be white, the area surrounding the darker color, in the border, to any other color. If I change the fill color it changes the gold colored area. All I want is to change the white lines in the border area.

How do you get the lines an easy way? I was wracking my brain and I just couldnt figure it out. I tried doing clouds, and making the lightning type thing then using satin for some shading etc... But it doesnt look really lasery, and i had to reduce the size alot.
making the laser lines from the plasma effect?
I'm trying to create a certain effect that is probably best illustrated with pictures
created by varying the thickness of lines, whether horizonal or part of letters or even symbols.
I don't know if this is even possible using photoshop to be perfectly honest. If that's the case, does anyone know the software that would be required?
I have looked everywhere at all sorts of photoshop and illustrator tutorials (because I couldn't find a Xara one) to accomplish this effect. I am creating a website for my client Jim and would like to incorporate a similar image to what he's using on his book cover, but with some different colors as the background to his site.
You can see what I'm trying to do in his blog header background here: [URL]......
I've found that this is a stock photo used in a lot of places, but I'm not really interested in getting the original image - I have that, but as a Jpeg on a black background. I'd prefer to learn how to create a similar effect in Xara.
I have tried all sorts of things that are kind of close, but just not there yet. I've tried using a line with pen pressure with a glow shadow. I've tried lines with a stained glass color overlay. I've tried creating a number of different brushes with a few levels of color, some with Gaussian blur applied, etc. but I just can't get this effect down. It always looks pretty good when I'm done, but then I look at the inspirational original and I'm not even in the ballpark for the amount of shine, glow, impact, etc.
In the end, this may not even work for the site since will be putting it on a light colored background, but I still want to know how to create this, as I'm sure I'll be able to use the technique elsewhere.
I am uing the 3D text effect in illustrator.
Problem is that my text creates lines. (See image below)
