A friend of mine used photoshop a while ago to do this effect on a image for me i was wondering if anyone can help me out and give me instructions on how to make this scan line like effect.
View 2 RepliesI figure this effect should be a simple one, but I just don't get how they did it. The reason I came in here is actually that I can't seem to find out the name of the effect, so it makes it pretty impossible to search for it.
The effect I talk about is kind of like when you scan a picture from a magazine and you get the picture with all those tiny circles and lo-fi points in yellow, red, green and blue.
recently obtained photoshop limited edition. I like the 'scan line' effect on images people have used with full edition copies of photoshop and wondered if a plugin somewhere exists to make it available to the limited edition?

i have a few scans of documents which are 20-30 years old. Some text on this documents is written on a typewriter. Now im trying to make this text to be more clear in relation to the background.
I tried to to this using Curves and Levels. The text is getting darker as i want it, but also the background changes which is what i dont want, because if i do this on a rectangular selection it is visible. Curves is quite ok, but it still changes the background to much in my opinion. Is there a way only to make the text more black without changing the background much? For example, if I have a part that can change lengths and I need to print off a new drawing, it would be good if I could say that the lines were a set distance from each end of the part or some features of the part.
Then I could update the part length, then just open the part drawing and not have to adjust anything.
This isnt so much of a problem as an annoyance. When I try to make poly lines from connected single lines my procedure is as follows...
pedit, right click, multiple, select lines/objects, enter, yes, join x 3, esc
My annoyance is if i hit join once it will not make the lines into polylines, if i hit join 3 times or so and then esc it will.
It just doesnt seem that is right and I think i might be missing something. I have been doing pedit this way for a long time adn its probably finally time to figure this one out.

How do you get the lines an easy way? I was wracking my brain and I just couldnt figure it out. I tried doing clouds, and making the lightning type thing then using satin for some shading etc... But it doesnt look really lasery, and i had to reduce the size alot.
