how to create custom hod rod flames using the pen tool, anyone have any custom hod rodd brushes or shapes or can someone make me a shape or possibly help me out with this pen tool? I really need these flames for a project.
View 6 RepliesWhen I drag a previous custom command into an existing custom tool bar and edit the custom command (then rename the command in the Name and Command Name) it also changes the previous custom command that I originally drug into the toolbar. What am I doing wrong?

I know few things about animating through ImageReady, and I can't find anything on flames.
There will be a pic infront of the flames, so the flames are background, the image will be still. But the flames will be animated.
There will be text too, also still.
Have an animated fire/smoke effect. But I need to have each frame as individual images. I'm inputting it into a game that compiles the images together into an animation in-game.
I have found lots of smoke and flame tutorials, but have not found any on how to make all the frames I would need for a smooth looping effect. If possible, I believe there are small little programs which can create animated fire/smoke for you, and then break it down by frame. But I have no clue what programs can do this. My main concern is to make sure the flames/smoke are as clean as possible in order to be able to make an alpha channel to provide me with transparencies around the effect.
So if anyone knows of a tutorial showing me how to create smoke divided by different frames (20+ or more so it is nice and smooth), please let me know. Of course, if you are willing to provide a quickie tutorial, then even better.
Or if someone has a name of a small program I can use that will create fire/smoke for me, then separate it by frame and save them,

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was using the custom shape tool (say I want to make a star) and in my other version of PS (7), it would automatically create a new shape layer, linked where you could click and change the color, etc.
When I try it in CS2 it draws the shape on the background directly. Now I am able to create a new layer, draw the shape and then fill it with a color to get the same result - but it was much easier the other way. I'm assuming it's just a setting (much like the changed linked layers setting)

However, I would like to be able to use the same tool to measure curves/radiuses. Say for instance a mountain road. I know the scale of the photo, and can measure any straight (line) angle, but can I do the same for a curve or radius using the same scale?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI use ACA 2012 on two seperate computers and would like to be able to have all my custom tool palettes, blocks, customizations, etc.. to migrate to both computers. I.e. I add a new tool to a tool palette on one computer and then when I'm working on second computer that new tool appears in palette in correct location. I would think the easist way to do this would to be to share the location of the tool palettes, customization files, etc.. at a common place (network share) but am unable to find all the files and settings to do this.

Now, is it necessary to add the palette sets and palettes to the content browser before sharing the .atc file around the office? Also, once added to the content browser, I cannot change the properties of a block e.g. scale, layer, rotation prompt etc..
I have created a custom office standards tool palette for the users, and it is properly loaded on all the machines. The issue is that when the 'Tools' button on the ribbon is pressed, it loads to the 'design tools' palette by default. Most user here have the habit of closing the tool menu after use, and reopening it from the menu - which defaults back to the design tools palette instead of the office standards... which is frustrating when jumping back and forth constantly. I assumed there was an easy way to tell them to set the 'standards' as the default, but I can't seem to find this property anywhere.

That version came out when I was a freshman in high school and I am lost. I am trying to insert the custom blocks that pertain to our design standards, but I am getting nowhere.
I have the blocks in a separate folder. I am getting to the customize tool palette option, but every time I try and import these files the folders show up empty. Admittedly, I am not the greatest with the complexities of AutoCAD because I picked it up on the job and never had any "official" training; however, it has also been two years since I've had to do this and I am a little rusty... I'd like to think it's just that because they are using decade old software.

I can't get the crop tool to crop in Custom mode. I unlock the lock and set to Custom and relock the lock. As soon as I begin the crop it reverts to Original. I've restarted.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have installed the autocad ObjectARX 2011 and .Net wizzard to start writing a .Net application for adding custom drawing parameters to all our acad drawings. I have found two issues detailed below. This is my first attempt at using c# with autocad so any pointers on what I am doing wrong will be well received.
1. If add the AcDbMgd.dll and AcMgd.dll references and set copy local to false as the documentation advises then I get a FileNotFoundException, could not load file or assembly 'acdbmgd'. If I set the copy local to true then the error goes away.
2. I tried using the code below to add a paramater but I get an exception on the first line System.TypeLoadException: Method 'CopyTo'.
