I installed photoshop cs3, and I'm missing the autofill tool and teh custom shape tool?
Is there a .dll that maybe someone can upload, or could someone talk me through it?
also, im reading a photoshop tutorial and it says go into web eidtor - how do i do this?
I have been using the 3D tools this past week and all of a sudden I open Photoshop CS 6 and their missing.

I'm trying to fill a shape with the pen tool as I have plenty of times, but I must've accidentally hit something, because now when I tell it to fill, nothing happens. It says it's filled, but no change is visible.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was using the custom shape tool (say I want to make a star) and in my other version of PS (7), it would automatically create a new shape layer, linked where you could click and change the color, etc.
When I try it in CS2 it draws the shape on the background directly. Now I am able to create a new layer, draw the shape and then fill it with a color to get the same result - but it was much easier the other way. I'm assuming it's just a setting (much like the changed linked layers setting)
Photoshop Elements 12 > In the custom shape tool, the pop up menu does not stay in place. Is there some key to press or is there a flaw in the software?

Every time I use the ellipse tool to draw a shape, a portion of the ellipse is missing. The missing portion is always on the lower right hand side of the ellipse. I am using CorelDraw Graphics Suite X4. I have attached a graphic showing what I mean.

It says select object, but no matter what object I select eg. circle, pline or line, it says invalid selection. I am running AutoCAD 2012. Are 'shape' objects somehow different from any other objects?

Under the "image" section I Do Not have "Apply Image" tool
Under the Layers section I DO Not have the tool to make a "Layer mask"

I just installed the upgrade to CS6 Design and Web Premium yesterday. Received my email for the free upgrade yesterday morning and all went fine for the download and install as far as I can tell.
Both the flash screen as well as the about Photoshop screen show CS6 extended, yet I have no 3D tools at all, either in the menu or toolbar. This is the case both with my laptop and desktop.
I have the latest drivers for my video cards and "use graphic processor" is checked in preferences.

graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5450
4 gigs RAM
425 gigs free on scratch disk
I just installed CS6, and I'm having serious problems w/ a few things. Mainly this issue:
As you can see, every time I create an object, a stroke is added to it. And you can also see on the layers path, a small little box is also added. Here's the weird part, when I try and change the images color, I get a popup saying that this object needs to be "rasterized" before changing the color. Then when the color changes, it changes the shape object to what i need it to be.
I just installed CD on my daughter's computer and her shape tool only allows for a free form selection by following the cursor in a free form way. My install allows for a rectangular click-and-drag type of selection. I see no options for this tool Is her install bad?

I have the think bubble custom shape on it's own layer, when I click on my photo layer the custom shape dissappears. How do I keep the custom shape on the photo layer. The custom shape layer, has a layer thumbnail and a vector mask thumbnail next to it. I am new to using layers please explain in baby steps.

The eraser tool is available in Designer Pro X, and Photo & Graphic Designer 2013 And the Shapebuilder is available in Designer Pro X
To start things off here are a couple of handy tips:
You can force the eraser to produce an opacity mask and non destructively edit vector shapes in two ways. 1. set some softness or 2. group your vector object with it's self.
You can use the H key to toggle the node view on and off . If you have Designer Pro X the shift key toggles between the shape builder and eraser tool for handy editing.
The pen tool option has changed. It no longer has the custom shape squiggle?

Whenever I create a custom shape or use the custom shape tool the outline will appear but it won't create the shape no layer nothing just an outline that can't be edited only deleted!

It seems if I want to have maybe 20 paw prints on graphic they will all be facing the same way. Is there a way to move them individually so they don't look all the same? I hope that makes sense.

I have not ventured much into the pen tool and I am totally illiterate when it comes to this tool.
My question is about gradients and anti-aliasing. I'm using PS 7.0 and what I want to do is use the custom shape tool, and fill the shape with a gradient. Not difficult, but here's where I get caught. After the shape is filled, I'd like the edges to remain anti-aliased.
For example, if I use the custom shape tool to create a hand print with anti-aliased edges, then use the magic want to select it. Next I grab my fore and back colors, choose a linear gradient and drag it in the appropriate direction. The selected shape is filled the way I want, but when I deselect, the edges have become pixelated. Is there a way to avoid this and keep them smooth? I tried using the blur tool and blur filter, but they don't quite have the same look.
