Is there a way to reset the tool palette? Something strange seems to have happened where the tool set I can see is really limited and doesn't have the shape drawing tool (cirlces, squares, etc)
Tried deleting prefs and that didn't do it. Screenshot of my weird tool palette:
In Xara Designer Pro 7, when I have selector tool active and want to drag over a number of elements to select them the selector tool will change the size of the canvas (page). Is that not a bug? I used this way of selecting elements often, and it is not good for me with this new behaviour.
Is it a bug or is it a new setting which I then need to change?
I installed photoshop cs3, and I'm missing the autofill tool and teh custom shape tool?
Is there a .dll that maybe someone can upload, or could someone talk me through it?

Every time I use the ellipse tool to draw a shape, a portion of the ellipse is missing. The missing portion is always on the lower right hand side of the ellipse. I am using CorelDraw Graphics Suite X4. I have attached a graphic showing what I mean.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently have developed a problem using Photo Paint. I have already tried to use F8 and restored factory settings, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I do not have this problem when logged in as the guest user on my computer, just under my normal profile. I want to correct the settings under my normal profile.
When editing the tool tip does not line up with the selector or cross hairs. For example if I have the paint tool selected and try to paint it actually begins painting about two inches from where I want to begin painting. See picture below: The small clear circle represents where I want to begin, but the red dot is where it paints.
I have created a pie chart and ungrouped the slices.When I use the white arrow to select the slices, two of the shapes are missing a live corner widget in one corner.So, when I move the corners, some of the corners remain unchanged.Also, the large blue shape on the right will not change at all.

If you look at the picture, I had one outer shape that was what I wanted shaded and a thinner shape that runs inside the other. It blends perfectly fine everywhere except at the bottom. I don't know how to explain it or what went wrong but I can't figure out how to make the blend fit inside the shape.

Any time I try and run Illustrator, it gives me an error message that says "Missing BPS Pencil Tool" and then it crashes. When I use the knife tool on an shapeit leaves a gap where I slice. First I thought it was just an illusion in the program but it stays even after I've exported the image (both by "save as" in illustrator and "export" in inDesign). I've been careful not to move the shapeafter I used the tool so I don't think that should be a reason.
I've tried on different types of shapes like normal circles and more complex shapes. I've also attempted to start a new file from scratch but with the same result What could the reason be? Is there a setting I should be aware of?

It also looks the same if I place it in inDesign and then export to pdf.
EDIT: I don't know if it is important but the size of the shape is about an A4 or there about.
I need to know how to make the type tool take the shape of the ellipse I am typing in.

So I would like to be able to use the shape builder tool to join the 3 instances where the letter 'i' appears each to the following letter. No luck so far. I have turned the type into points. I have highlighted the first instance, 'i' and 'c'. but the shape builder tool shows a circle with a line through it... not working.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI have adobe CS5 and when I opened my software today, I discovered my swatches were gone from my tool bar. They are not entirely gone because I can get to them from my swatch libraries, however, I cannot drag and drop these swatches into my toolbar in order to click on them. I am trying to use the pen tool to draw a simple shape and the only swatches that come up is the none option (the white box with the red line going through it) and the registration, which I admitadly don't know much about.
I am using a Mac. I cannot figure out how to draw my shapes without a fill and using a black outline.
I can't open the other shape options form the rectangle tool?

I outlined my text and subtracted it (and the tree image) from the black background. When I did this both appear thinner - particularly the tree.
If I then take the original version and the new subtracted version, and view them both overlayed one on top of the other in wire frame (outline) mode, there is no difference in the actual lines.
It seems to be a problem with the way illustrator previews the images. This wouldn't concern me, but when I export the file as a jpeg, the lines also appear thinner in the export.
I can create a manual solution by offsetting the path before subtracting, but this isn't ideal.
What does it mean when Illustrator v.15.1.0 ceases to contract a shape using offset paths and will only expand a shape? Seems like only yesterday I could render both ways. Wait a minute, it was only yesterday! Why would it suddenly stop funtioning?

How do I make the shape transparent so the shape may be filled with the background color?
We're using AutoCAD LT 2009, so we of course do not have Aeccland.shx. I am aware that I do not have it. I don't particularly care that I don't have it.
AutoCAD, on the other hand, is very concerned. So concerned, in fact, that it will ask me for this file every time I open projects that involve baseplans shapes from this file. I would like to allay AutoCAD's concerns, and inform it that aeccland.shx is not necessary, and it can get along quite happily without aeccland.shx, and any other shape file. I would like to do this very much, as I am currently working on a project with 60 or more separate files I must pull information from to compile baseplans I can use.
I received some drawings from a client that is missing some shape files, it looks for file names like Z.shx when opening the dwg's, I have asked and he says he has the same problems when he opens them so is unable to send these to me, the drawing seems to open fine and I can not seen anything that looks wrong.
Iv also had this in the past with fonts and it will change the font to another one but nags you for it each time I open the file so i would like to know how to stop that as well if its different to above.
I'm trying to repurpose some artwork and am running into an issue. In the image below, I simply want to delete the bottom right corner of the blue box so that the orange background is visible along the right edge of the curved shape and the blue box is visible along the left edge of the curved shape. But I cannot figure out how to do this. I've tried all the Pathfinder choices and none work. How can I do this? CS6, Windows 7.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to cover a section of letters that have been outlines with a red box over a serif for a homework project. HOWEVER. Everytime I do this, it looks like I have it all lined up and when I make another point, the points move on its own to be off and not cover the object Say I complete the box and try to cover the object by just dragging and dropping, it will avoid that area and move it off to one side or the other but never align with the actual object I'm trying to cover for a smooth and even coverage. Trying to get the red box to cover the black serif and it won't do it.

However, when I selected the floor I found that there isn't a shape editing panel in my ribbon. I ran into the same problem when I attempted to construct sloped roof for drainage. Is this panel hiding somewhere?

I believe there was a checkbox to check this every time you open a drawing. I must have checked it, and now autocad always asks for it.
