i'm creating a "rusty-metal thingy" design for my new website. it's almost finished, now i only need to know how i can draw them big rusty metal chains to keep my header, mid-section and my bottom-section from falling apart.
View 4 RepliesI'm creating a menu for my webpage but there's something wrong. I get the feeling of "rock" on this piece, not rusted, old metal which is the feeling I should be getting. It would be great if anyone could provide me with tips on how to make it more "metally" and less rocky. And yes, I tried lowering the saturation on the bottom layer, but it didn't cut it. I own a copy of, and create my images in, Photoshop 5.

With it as it is the bones facing down are fine, but the ones facing upward falls to the "Floor".

what I am trying to learn/figure out is how to make a huge rusty looking iron-quality letters. I've downloaded some plug ins off and on so not sure what I have but it is not too far off.
What are some must have plug ins to make lettering into metals? I keep trying the tutorials but I think I need to start all over (how humbling). Some instructions come with an assumption that I thought.. err... assumed.. I had retained.

I've played around with the curves and when I get the majority of it looking like the right color, the lighter spots where light reflected off of the piece get far to white. I run into the same problem with duplicating the backround layer and changing the blend mode to screen. Any thoughts?

View 5 Replies View Related1. I try to engrave text in metal but that Emboss only brings text up (out) of background. Didn't find normal tutorial which would look like i want. Mostly they don't look engrave.
2. Got a "missunderstanding" with text on path. Coundn't get in right direction.
I got circle around which i want text. But by default it goes outside circle. If make full round around circle text at bottom is upside-down.
I need something like that but without transformation:
