View 3 Replies View RelatedI made an API-spec 10K cross, 7 1/16" x 2 1/16". I got everything done including the passages and boltholes for the studs. But I need to cut grooves for the BX ring gaskets. It is basically a block of steel with two different size holes through the center with bolt circles (and ring gasket groove) at each opening. I am still a bit of a beginner and I am stumped on this one problem. If it were AutoCAD I would have cranked out the solid model in about 15 minutes (or less if in a hurry) but I want to learn Inventor.

Think I need define the profile with sketch block. If there any sample code shows how to use it? Is there a website like the autocad.net where I can get the sample for the api?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to calculate flex on a metal ring I have designed and are a bit confused with the contacts that I am getting when using automatic contacts.
Please see the pictures attached for reference.
When I use automatic contacts I get all bonded contacts, but I get the impression that bonded contacts are welded and that is not the case with my design it is bonded using bolts.
Which contacts would you use for this part? Or should I simplify it? Can I run it in the stress simulator?
I found this block online. I'm trying to do something similiar. I want the attribute to be dynamic (in context). The author of this block set a visibility and then 92) lookup actions, but only (1) lookup parameter.

With it as it is the bones facing down are fine, but the ones facing upward falls to the "Floor".

I know about J hot key, but I don't feel like hitting f-3, J every time I toggle wireframe. Once I toggle something off, I expect it to stay off.. How to make this behave the way it used to ?

I'm having multiple issues with Photoshop CC. I just installed it yesterday and all went well. I began working on a project and discovered that the bracket keys no longer increased the brush size, but instead jumped from one brush to another. The place component button on the ribbon seems to have inconsistent behavior. When using the drop down to place components from content center or Vault, sometimes the ribbon button will be "sticky" and remember my selection for the next component and sometimes it will revert to the default place from local. Is there any way to configure Inventor to treat Place from Vault as the default behavior? Probably about 75% of the time I am placing components from Vault; having to crank through extra clicks to get to Vault is a waste of time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created a standard part that has imates and all features are adaptive. When I create an assembly and then try to place the component I would like for the part to come in adaptive automatically.
For example I have a nightstand I am modeling. The top and endpanels are in the assembly constrained to each other. I have a standard top back rail that is set up in a library and is used in all cases. The rail width and thickness is always the same but the length is different. I have two imates set up on the rail so when it is brought in, it will snap into place with one end of the rail mated to one endpanel and the other end mated to the opposite endpanel. But since the part is not adaptive on input it dosen't work right. One mate works fine but the other doesn't snap into place. Once I make the rail adaptive then it works fine but I have to insert it into the drawing first then make it adaptive then move the imates into place. Is there a way to make it adaptive automatically when it is initially placed in the assembly.
When starting a new idw, my first action is placing the base view. I would very much like to start a new 2D and have the "Drawing View" window automatically pop up. I'm not sure how to do this. Would it be part of the idw template, or is there a setting I'm oblivious to?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI’m a PS user new to Illustrator (CS6). In PS, using the bracket keys [] to increase/decrease brush point size will simultaneously update the data displayed in the tool panel at the top.
While I can use the bracket keys in Illustrator to change the appearance of the brush stroke, it is not being updated in the tool panel input or in the stroke window…so I can essentially have (2) 3 pt strokes created with the same brush that don’t visually match but whose display properties DO match. Because I will be doing lots of editing I certainly don’t want to work this way.
