Running PS 7 on Windows XP.
Is it possible to do a multipage scan in Photoshop 7 and to have all the scanned pages saved as one PDF file. At the moment I can only find a way that gives me the same number of files as I have scanned in.
The reason I am having to do this is because I am having a problem with the scanning facility in Acrobat 8.
I have Photoshop 7 and converted some jpg scans to pdf files, then combined them into a multipage single file. I wanted to edit one of the pages, but can not recall how I created the multipage file.

I've read that this is possible to do in Photoshop, but when I tried downloading a trial on my computer, I wound up with a corrupted hard disk (unfortunately, this is also on my personal, not my work computer), but no functional software. How to get Photoshop to run without destroying my hard disk, I'd like to find out if it's worth the trouble.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI found myself in the situation today of having to make a multipage pdf document from many individual images. There were over 100 images of each page and I didn't like the idea of manually creating new pages, dragging the images on, resizing and aligning each time etc. probably about an hours work or more. Luckily there's a way to do it in less than a minute using the autoreplace name used in photo galleries.
Here's the steps on how to do it.
1: On your first page drag on any one of the images, position and resize it accordingly.
2: Apply the name autoreplace to the image
3: Select and drag all the images from your folder onto the first image
4: Choose duplicate page from the dialog that pops up
presto a 100+ page document that can now be saved as a pdf.
I had a task to edit 10 pages of specifications TIF format containing 12 pages.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was victim to the MS update that wiped out all the fonts. I undid the damage with a restore, it was the only way for my X64 Win 7 system. Now, suddenly, making multipage PDF's is a nightmare. I have always used the same process and settings on the PDF converter (been doing it since X3 with no issues) Now, I cannot set the settings to get a normal sized PDF... they usually are 5 megs for a 5 page pdf... now they come in at 35 megs? It's always ignored the graphic items I have placed off of the page... now, it appears it's including these items and I cannot figure out how to adjust the settings - I've tried everything.
The only work around was to save the file under a new name, delete all extraneous graphics off the page, then make the PDF. It comes out as it should if I do that. I've never had to do that before... it's always simply used the graphics on each page when it's checked as "pages 1-5".
If you have a multipage document such as the plans for a house you can have a different scale factor on each page if you turn off "All pages in document the same" in the Options dialog's "Page Size" tab.
Then you can set different scales on different pages. E.g. 1:100 for house floor plans and 1:500 for site layout plans.
Gimp open a multipage tiff as a multilayer image and i can edit it. But wheni save it, all layers are merged into one and i've get a onepage tiff. Howcan i save a multipage tiff?
View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery day at least a dozen times I print spot color separations for film through the print dialogue to pdf, and every single time I have to either print the spot colors one at a time, or open the multipage pdf in Acrobat and use the clunky extract page function to get separate files. Is there any way to just get it to print separate pdfs?
Then I have to rename each sep to have the color in the file name. If there was a way to automate that?
I'm using Illustrator for work and I love it, I never needed scripts yet. Now I have couple houndred svgs coming in per day, I would like to have a script that opens every svg one by one in the selected directory and add them to a pdf as pages of the same size and than save it.
How many files I could put in 1 pdf this way?

Often times when designing a logo I create different versions and variable options on layers. This can result in several layers in one Illustrator file. Is there an easy way or an existing script that will allow me to (with one click) create a multi-page PDF consisting of all the layers within my .ai file? The current method is turning on each layer, performing a save-as (PDF), then turning off said layer and turning on the next layer and repeating the task and so-on-and-so-forth, etc … It becomes tedious and quite often I save over the previous version, forgetting to re-name it or forget to perform a save on a certain layer. I have never written my own script before but am not opposed to trying, where do I begin?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have multipage (16 pages) document with linked frames of paragraph text. Every page consists of 2 linked frames of paragraph text and second one is linked to the first one of the next page. When printed, it prints only first two pages as a whole. And the 3-rd and all the others prints only first frame of the page and two rows of the second frame of the page.
Is this my printer (Canon LBP3010) or the CorelDRAW ?
BTW: Paste 16 pages from WORD to Corel X6 takes infinity and crashes. In Corel 9 it takes about a minute for 80 pages!
I am aware of the 64 bit versus 32 bit issue. When I ugraded to Windows 7, 64 bit and CS 5.5, I did so because both Adobe and Microsoft indicated I would have to. In CS 5.5, the issue of the 32 bit versus 64 bit driver was not serious because--although Windows 64 bit had no trouble scanning and Photoshop 64bit did, I installed the Photoshop CS 5.5, 32 bit version, and it worked.
Today, CS5.5 disappeared, "Photoshop has ecnountered an error with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhnacements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software. GPU enhancement can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences." Not really [it's not a driver problem], Photoshop won't stay on, it simply closes.
I am scanning with Adobe photoshop 7.0 using Vista WIA driver from Microsoft and Scanner is from Toshiba. I am using the Automatic document feeder with 3 pages but i am getting only one page(First page) in the photoshop Window.
With Twain driver it is working fine i am able to get all the three pages. is the Adobe photoshop is not supporting the ADF scanning with WIA?
I want to scan from within CS4 x64, like we used to in the old days! I appreciate that TWAIN is making way for WIA, however, I can't find a way to scan from within photoshop and NOT have to immediately save the scanned image. In want to just scan and open, and then make the decision to save (or not) later on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using this product for a few years and only a few months ago I re-installed it on Windows 7 and a few days ago I closed it and it stopped working right when it says "Scanning for Plug-Ins". I haven't changed anything with the product. While I had it installed on the D-drive (The C and D got mixed up) it hadn't had a problem until a few days after continually hearing that the C: drive was full (leading to mass deletions of unused programs and files). Just today I had fixed the problem of the drives and the program had the same problem. I've tried the multiprocessor plug-in, uninstalling and reinstalling it, There are only a few oddities I can say happened during the reinstallation, it was unable to activate.

I want to scan gemstones on my computer to use on a webpage.
I scan the gem at 300 dpi ( I crop the preview image...then scan)
I then import into PS and adjust the image (contrast, colour etc)
Unfortunately, when the image is then used on my webpage, the resolution is terrible. The image on the web page is larger than the one in PS.
I have an Epson Perfection 4180 scanner which has worked for years. I moved, plug everything back in, the scanner works one time, and from then on, I get this error: "Could not complete the Import command because of an error with acquisition module interface."
I've searched around, and seen others with this problem, but, no real solution. From what I've read, it's a Photoshop issue. I've downloaded the TWAIN drivers and re-installed the scanner, and deleted Photoshop's preferences file. The scanner does work through the Windows Scanner Wizard. I've turned off the Windows Image Acquisition thing in the control panel, and then turned it back on.
I have an Epson R200 printer and an Epson Perfection 1260 Scanner. Using Photoshop CS, how do I get a closest colour match between scanning an image, passing it through photoshop and printing it out on photo quality inkjet paper as close to the original as possible.
I'm scanning at 1400 dpi, what else do I need to do? I don't know anything about colour management or anything like that...
I use the default scanning software that cames with my epson scanner...I works fine no problems, I do all of my corrections in PS. But I was wondering if anybody uses any third party software that is particularly good?

I just scanned a transparency in my EPSON 2450. It came out with some curves like a rainbow, I don't know how it is called. Is there any way to remove that without affecting the texture of the photograph? (these curves show over a piece of fabric and I really wanna keep the texture of the fabric).

My Software: Adobe CS6 trial
What I want to do: Scan a typical photo that is 6 by 6 inches at 6400 dpi as a bitmap, for utmost quality
What I tried: File -> Import -> Images from device -> then selected my scanner, set it to scan at 6400 dpi and save as a bitmap
My problem: When the scanner head is done scanning and the progress bar for scanning the image completes and moves to the next step (presumably writing the image to the file), PS crashes and gives me an error log. It is far too detailed for me. I have no problem scanning images at lower resolutions like 1200 dpi. But this scanner is capable of 6400 dpi and I want to take full advantage of it. I cannot use the scanner software that came with teh scanner because tech support told me the scanner software has a 1.something GB file limit size. They told me 3rd party software like PS should be able to scan unlimited file sizes. I suspect the file size migh be too large (16 GB)
My question: Is this a bug in the trial or something? Should PS be able to scan a 6 by 6 inch photo at 6400 dpi and save it as a bitmap?
Any 1st thoughts? I imagine it would be useful to upload the error log. I can do that if it is ok to do so

When I try to open PS CS6, it hangs and says it's "scanning for plug-ins" and will not open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no luck.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently learned of what sounded like a wonderful Elements feature: Scan as many photos as you can fit on your scanner bed and Elements will divide the scan into individual photos. The key was to use the "Divide Scanned Photos" command on the Image menu. Sounds great, but that command is always grayed out. How come? And is there some way for me to make the command work?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running PS CS3 on Vista Home Premium, 1.86Ghz Intel core 2 processor, and 4GB RAM.
I realise Vista only sees 3.3GB of this RAM, and I know Vista uses about 1GB all the time.
Question:
While running PS, and only PS, with no files open, I have 2GB of RAM, why will PS not let me scan a file that it says will take up 300Mb?
200Mb is about the limit that it will let me scan, but even then, the actual end product ends up being less than 100Mb. (around 70mb in most cases)I'm using a Dell AIO A920, latest drivers etc, and PS is set to use all avaliable RAM.
Not only will it not let me scan, once a file I've opened has used up "x" amount of RAM, even if I then close that file, "x" amount of RAM will STILL be unavaliable. This means if I scan something, I have to save it, close PS, then open it again before I can scan anything else.
Surely this isn't normal. Or am I being stupid and missing something obvious?
I've also monitored the memory usage during scanning using task manager and various other things, it hardly goes up at all, then shoots up to 70-80% once the 70ishMb file is loaded. Something is up because if that were true, I'd actually only have 1Gb of RAM, and running Vista would be nearly impossible.
It's not a Vista thing either as I had this problem when I had XP. In fact it was worse then, I could hardly scan anything, had to be very low resolution.
I have scanned a transparency in professional mode with my Epson 2450 which comes in as a photoshop file. I cannot unlock the background layer in order to save as a jpg or whatever, or to add layer changes. Does anyone know what I should be doing in order to make this happen?
