Mar 8, 2011I have a new machine with windows 7 64 bit and autocad 11. When I choose the 6204 as my plotter I get the following message : "This plotter configuration cannot be used for one of these reasons: the driver cannot be found, the device cannot be found, or the driver has a problem. The None plot device has been substituted." it does not matter if I choose to try and print to the plotter or make a PDF this error comes. up..

Apr 18, 2013I have a client who would like to create a banner that is 6x5 feet. She supplied me with a very high quality photo that she'd like printed on the banner. Ideally, it would fill up most of the banner. The file size of the photo is 670 mb. In Photoshop's "Image Size" window, it says that it's 12960 x 8640 pixels, 36 x 24 inches, and 360 ppi.

Is there some way to make this photo display larger, short of taking a new photo with a higher resolution? What happens if I up the resolution in the "Image Size" window?

Also wondering why this file would be 670 mb but only 36x24 inches in size... It doesn't seem to add up to me.

Apr 2, 2013What I want to do is make a Ruler. In particular a Ruler that goes up to 360. This is going to be a Liner Setting Circle that I am going to use to wrap a Dobsonian Base with. So these are going to be in Degrees.
My plan was to try and break up each degree in to 20 increments. I was hoping to used the (Filter>Render>Pattern>Grid) feature to do this in layers. To have 3 Layers overlapping. One are 360 for the main degree marks. One at 3600 for the increments of 2 between each degree. One 7200 for the increments of 1 between each degree.

Aug 16, 2013I like to make and print custom cards for family and friends. I use a heavy matte finish paper to print on. But the printing is never as vibrant as my screen image, and this includes photos.
Today I tried this and it worked fine. I converted the image to be printed to a 300dpi bitmap, then using the Photo Tool > Enhance menu, I increased the Saturation to the point where the image looked psychedelic. When I printed on the dull finish card stock, the colors looked just right.

1. the zebra lines are not straight
2. some go all the way through the whole swatch and others stop half way or quarter of the way.

Feb 5, 2011I'm a new user of GIMP 2.6.11 for OSX, and I can't figure out how to make photo colors print correctly. My printer is an Epson 2200, driver version 8.37. When I print one of my old photos from Mac Preview, colors come out the same as they did when I used this printer from Photoshop 6 on my old Windows PC. When I print the same image from GIMP on the Mac (using the Print command, not Gutenprint, and selecting photo quality and specifying the right paper, etc), the colors are too far off for a simple CY, MAG, Y level adjustment to get back to what I expect. Under image properties GIMP says the color profile of the image is sRGB IEC61966-2.1, and the image appears the same on my monitor in GIMP as it does in Preview. But it appears GIMP may be using a different color profile for printing than for display. is that possible, and if so, how can I change it?

the image itself is a high resolution because it needs to be, so not surprisingly it keeps making illustrator crash. the print needs to happen, and it needs to become a swatch so I can apply it to tee shirts, hats etc. so far this has been completely impossible.

Sep 15, 2012Just recently, any prints I try to make on paper larger than 8.5 x 11 is offset, small or both using my epson 3880. Up until about 2 months ago it was fine. Also, the colors appear somewhat muted on the larger prints. Plus, I am still having a problem with prints being too dark but that is minor to the skewed printing. I still have LR 2 & 3 installed and tried using these programs with the same results.

Oct 22, 2012Our local agency has come up with a requirement that CAD-generated drawings be submitted to them as 200 dpi TIFÂ files, of between 300kb and 900kb. They do not accept dwg, dwf, or even pdf.
When we create a new plotter in AutoCAD, using any of the raster file formats, setup for the format only allows 100dpi. You can create larger numbers of pixels, 1024x768 vs 1600x1200, for example, but that is not translating into higher resolution.
We have tried the route of printing to pdf, then converting to TIF, but the file sizes are coming out far too large.
If we are unable to find a solution, I guess we can always print to hardcopy and then scan to tif. In 1996 I would have been happy to do that, but not now.
Our specific version of AutoCAD is AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013, but I am sure this is more a generic AutoCAD issue.

For example if I am doing address labels and I have fields for City and State:
Their positions are absolute, and the state ends up overwriting the city for long city text, as does the comma.
What I want is for the comma to follow the last letter of the city, and then state to follow that.
And yes, I realize that I can combine all three into one field, but I am asking this as a general usage of the feature. One doesn't always have control over the source.
Photoshop :: Print Preview Colors Don't Match Work Window + Print Sizes
Jan 16, 2009So I am working on this document and it has silver background. I go to print preview (Photoshop cs3 and cs4 on Vista) and I get color looking more like bronze looking but when I do print, it comes out just like it should (in working mode which is Monitor RGB with Proof colors checked).
This setting is the only one I've used to make sure image/psd looks exactly like what it should when printing. I tried the default Working CMYK with and without Proof colors but it's still showing me the bronze look instead of silver. I've looked on the net and no exact easy fix for this was found. I really really appreciate any help.
Another simple question is regarding size. I'm working on a document size of 17.5 x 8.7 inches and the actual Banners will be printed at size 175 x 87 inches (5 banners each at 35inch wide but combined into a big one). So essentially, I'm working at 10% the size of what the final print will be and my file size is 760mgs. You can only imagine how big the file would be if I work on the actual size.

I am running a MacPro with OS 10.7.5, and printing to a Canon iPF8300 with its latest firmware and print driver. I am using the proper ICC profile for the paper. In the print dialogue box, I select "Photoshop Manages Colors".

A couple things I noticed: In the "Print Settings" where I dial in the printer setup, the settings for "Color" are both turned off (Colorsync & Vendor).In the printer driver settings (still within "Print Settings") the "Color" tab is grayed out, but when I click the "Settings" for that sub-panel, Colorsync is selected.When I printed the image from the Canon PS Plug-in, the red cast was gone, but the blacks were too heavy (there is no "Black Point Compensation" check box available because the Canon plug-in uses Adobe Color Engine for that, and it's only 32-bit and won't run).Â

When attempting to print a photo, it can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes for the print dialog box to open up. It takes SO LONG that it appears that Photoshop has frozen, but it has not. The print dialog box opens eventually. This started about 2 months ago. I have looked at all preferences, assigned more RAM to Photoshop, uninstalled and reinstalled the entire suite, ran all updates, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers - all to no avail.

I am at a loss as to why it would take SO LONG for the print dialog box to open after selecting print? I thought there may be a problem with the print spooler or print queue, but the slowness happens BEFORE the print back system is touched. The print queue is empty, and there is nothing stuck in there. I've checked.
Photoshop :: Error :: Could Not Print Because Of A Problem Writing The Print File
Feb 14, 2008I'm having trouble printing in Photoshop CS2. Rregardless of which printer I try to print to, I get the message "Could not print because of a problem writing the print file". I have never encountered this error before.
The psd file I am printing is a wall banner, and is quite large (~200MB). It contains elements copied/pasted as pixels from Illustrator CS2. However even if I flatten the file, or save as a flattened tif, I still get the same error message.
Thinking that the psd file is corrupted, I tried printing an earlier version of the file, with no luck. I've even tried printing other, small unrelated files, and can't print those either. Even after rebooting the computer.
The computer I'm using has a dual core processor, 4GB RAM, a decent graphics card and is running under XP. I have gob-loads of HD space and also use a scratch disk.
I really only want to print the file myself as a proof. However, I'm concerned that the banner printers won't be able to print the file either.

I created/edited an album of wedding photos in the Organizer. I tried to upload album to Shutterfly to make an archival DVD and also make a photo book in Shutterfly. The photos uploaded individually to the Shutterfly print page to print individually, but the album will not upload to My Pictures, it shows the album name, but it is empty. How do I get the photos to upload?? Shutterfly was not sure how.
