View 1 Replies View RelatedThere must be a key command to move between the grid panel or the filmstrip and the keywording panel, isn't there? I don't want to use my mouse. I just want to select the photo (if I'm in the grid panel I just move right arrow or left) and then go to the keywording panel (Command K) and then GET BACK TO THE GRID PANEL SO I CAN SELECT THE NEXT PHOTO. I've looked at a lot of articles and lists of key commands for Lightroom 4 and can't seem to find the answer.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk, so somehow I really screwed the pooch and reformatted the HD with all my 2012 and 2013 lightroom photos.I still have my main library file and 2014 photos as they are on a different drive.
Now, I think I can go back and recover all the images which is great. But they will not have their original names or folder structure. So I'm not sure how to handle this situation with my library. I don't mind if I lose all my edits on those photos, but I want to have a clean library and nothing unlinked.
Whats the best way to get my libarary back into good shape after I have my recovered files?
give me the correct commands to use on a mac to merge all underlying layers to one layer at the top of the layers panel list. I know it in a mac but not on a mac as I just recently switched over.

I know it is probably elementary, but I’m just learning.
Both the Layers Panel and Adjustment Panel are in Expanded format when I Minimize CS4 to the Taskbar.
I then maximize CS4 and the Layers Panel does not show any layers. I have to double-click the Layers tab to reveal my layers. Never had this with CS3.
I have a file that is all flat now. Is their any way to get the layers back, so I can delete one of them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to PS CS5, when I create any vector shape using pen tool or rectangular tool etc the shape does not appear in my layers panel.
Is this normal behavior? If it is, how do i reselect a shape after I've made it?
I noticed my layers panel became closed every time I start Photoshop cs6. I tried to create new workspace with open panel but that's had no effect, panel is closed after the restart of Photoshop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a setting for the layers panel where you can set the maximum # layers or minimum that one can display on the layers panel. For some odd reason i can only set up 3 layers on the layers panel. Can you set up 8 or more layers(that become visible) on layers display. My lasso tool seems to be working normally now. etc.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to import new images into the layers panel. If I hit "create new layer" all I get is a blank layer. What I want to do is import an image from which I will cut out part of it and layer it onto another image. For example: lets's say I want to put an image of myself in front of a tree. I want to take the image of myself from one picture and layer it onto the picture which has the tree on it. How do I get both of those images into the same layers panel? I can get the picture of myself into the layers panel as layer #1, then I can cut myself out of the picture. My problem is, when I try to import the picture with the tree on it, it opens itself up in a new tab. If I try to hit "create new layer", only a blank layer apprears above my first layer. I have tried to drag the new image onto the layers panel, but it won't attach. All of the tutorials I have been able to find/watch, already have all of the images they are working with pre-loaded into the layers panel. I just need to know how to get my images into the panel, so that I can start to work with them.

I am new to Elements 12.
I have been using PSE 10 on this laptop for over a year, and PSE 7 for years. Today I opened a PSE file to carry on working on it, and the layers panel was blank, even though it has several layers. I opened a jpg and tried to create a new layer, and nothing shows up in the layers panel. I don't remember changing anything between last night and today. Is PSE corrupt?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMac // CS5 // lion...I'm working on a business card in photoshop. I always save as .psd until the finished product, then save a front and a back as a .pdf.
I finished, saved my front and back as a .pdf everything is good. When I save the document as .psd again and close the file, the next time I reopen, it has 0 layers, everything is flattened. I've never had this happen before and am scared to close down the file I am working on for fear that it might not return.
I had this happen once already earlier today on a seperate business card. I knew I saved my final copy as a .psd and when I opened that .psd up again to find that there were no layers, but one flattened image. Is my PS corrupted? Or did I miss a simple check box somewhere?
This is the original document I'm working on. I saved 2 .pdf files from this .psd...For Good measure I save the .psd above as a "test" and then open it up in another window. Notice how the thumbnail has a curved triangle shape. Also the file size is only like 9 mb...very small for my normal size
Ok, so I open it up, and this is what I see. One flattened picture. No layer masks, layers...anything.
How to remove or close or shut off the layers menu.

Started working with PSE and when I tried to "stamp" a brush shape (whether default brushes or otherwise), the program does something it had never done before....SEE ATTACHED. I will create a new layer to use my brush, but when I try to "stamp" it onto background, the program then creates a layer mask where I can see the brush shape AND a new layer, however ALL that shows up on the background is the icon you can see in my screen grab I am attaching here. What is this icon? (The teeny one middle right of image, black square, outlined in red, with two red circles in the middle) I called Apple, we did a few things, they said it wasn't on there end. I reset my tools, I uninstalled, reinstalled, to no avail. Again, I've reset all tools, the "eye" icon on layers panel shows it should be visible, I've tried layers-->merge visible, I've uninstalled and reinstalled.....

I was able to use the direct select tool to select mulitple items by either dragging it would select anything in the box or using shift to select multiple items. Do I have to click on every item in the layer panel to select it on the canvas? Is there a option that I have checked when it should be unchecked?
