Illustrator :: Font Used In Original Is Helvetica Bold
Jun 6, 2010I am modifying an existing logo for a company. The font used in the original is Helvetica Bold.For ease of explanation, we can assume that the company has not licensed the font at all.
If I purchase Helvetica Bold from linotype: URL....
and make a logo consisting of an logo mark and logotype "IHGMISAHIC, CPL" (scrambled) using the newly purchased Helvetica Bold font.Register the logo to be used on all company stationery and signage, etc.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Mtext Font - Some Text Is Bold And Some Not
Jun 29, 2012I have a detail section of millwork ... and some of the text is bold and some are not. But the weird thing is that all the text is from the same style, none of the text is bold and they are all the same size. So why are some bold and some not? See attached, running Autocad Architecture 2011 on XP 64.

3ds Max :: Object Break On Impact?
Apr 10, 2013I'm new here so not entirely sure of any posting "protocols", but I've been using the RayFire demo using the Voronoi fragmentation blah blah blah all standard.
How do I set it up so if the object is falling it smashs on impact with a ground plane? If I set it to dynamic in MassFx or just from RayFire it explodes or if it doesnt, it starts to fall apart as it falls through the atmosphere?

Oct 27, 2012Photoshop's 3D rendering offers us the ability to create imagery that's virtually perfect. It even allows us to specify the depth of field, from infinite, to reasonably short.
My question to you is this: Does shortening the depth of field increase or reduce the visual impact of a rendering? I offer these examples for you to judge:
I can't quite decide which I like better. The one that's sharp edge-to-edge seems a bit more like eye candy, but the one with the short DOF seems maybe more realistic. On the other hand, blurring things always feels a bit like hiding imperfection, when in this case it's hiding perfection.

Feb 22, 2012I am a relative newcomer to Photoshop CS5. I have been creating a document with a background image layer and a couple of text box layers. The font is set at Arial, italic, sharp. When I save the document as a PDF file, random words appear in bold. I have tried deleting these words in the PSD document text layer and retyping them but they still appear as bold in the PDF file. Interestingly when I save as a JPEG image the bold words appear as normal. CS5 version is 12.0.4 and OS is Windows XP.

Dec 10, 2008i have photoshop 7.0 on a windows xp machine. trying to work with a psd file that uses arial narrow bold and arial narrow italic fonts. when i dragged the file into photoshop, it told me those fonts weren't available. downloaded arialnb.ttf and arialni.ttf from the internet, went into my control panel - fonts folder and deleted the old ones that weren't being recognized and installed the new ones. they are still not recognized. microsoft word doesn't recognize them either.

Jan 21, 2008I'm using PS6. Trying to use the warped text function, and I just get the error message "Could not complete your request because the type layer uses a faux bold style". Well, normally the answer is to just turn off the faux bold style with the flyout menu on the character window or on the top of the screen. But the problem is that it's already off. I've tried resetting all my tools back to the default settings. I've tried using different fonts. (currently using arial). Nothing seems to work. No matter what I try, it just continues to throw the same error each time.

Dec 21, 2011the text always appears bold both on screen and printed in my student work. My tutor has now commented as it detracts from the thickness of picture lines. So i need to figure out how to change this. I have never selected bold.
In the 2D diagram I am working on at the moment i am using single line text, dimension text and text within a table key on the side. It is all the same in terms of boldness. I have seen other students work with less bold text and i need mine to be like this.
I have selcted standard style, size 6.000 and it is not annotative. Is text affected by lineweight or layers?

Feb 26, 2014How can I use Arial Narrow Bold in Illustrator CS6? In CS5 I can choose Arial Narrow as a font and just make it bold. Now in CS6 I only find Arial as a font and can make it either narrow or bold but not both. I have installed the ”whole” Arial font family in windowsfonts, so there I can find Arial Narrow, but why does it and the other Arial fonts appear in Illustrator?

Jul 10, 2012I have read many topics that talk about TTF text printing bold under various circumstances, but have not found one addressing my exact issue. I have attached a PDF with which I hope to illustrate my problem.
I have a non-annotative, Scale = 1, all elevations = 0, block; My text is PDF's as text whenever the block is left at 90 or is exploded then rotated. But whenever the blocked is rotated (any amount) the text is no longer interpreted as text, it prints bold.
I need to be able to align my blocks to other, rotated, objects in both model and paper space; so this issue is causing my a fair amount of grief. I have been told switching to a shx font is out of the question.

Feb 21, 2011At some point - I'm not clear when - something changed with my fonts(Linux - Slackware64 13.1). Now I cannot select, for example, the boldor italic version of DejaVu Sans. The appear as Regular.
- I tried to install the newest package for the dejavu fonts,
- ran mkfontscale
- ran mkfontdir
- Though probably unnecessary, ran fc-cache
First tried to 'reload fonts' (button in fonts dialog) in Gimp, thentried to restart gimp entirely. (and from a terminal to check for anymessages with --verbose).

Nov 24, 2012I have problem this Arial text style. Everytime i moved the text it looks like a bold text.
I have noticed only if the snap is ON. but if I OFF the snap the text is okay. even the attribute is the same.
