Photoshop :: Error Trying To Use Warped Text Because Type Uses Faux Bold Style
Jan 21, 2008
I'm using PS6. Trying to use the warped text function, and I just get the error message "Could not complete your request because the type layer uses a faux bold style". Well, normally the answer is to just turn off the faux bold style with the flyout menu on the character window or on the top of the screen. But the problem is that it's already off. I've tried resetting all my tools back to the default settings. I've tried using different fonts. (currently using arial). Nothing seems to work. No matter what I try, it just continues to throw the same error each time.
Using Photoshp CS5 Extended and Windows 7 Home Premium. I try to convert a text layer to a shape and I'm told it cannot, becasue I have a faux bold style. Thing is, I don't have it set to bold. I tried with Tahoma and Ariel. I tried it as none, sharp, crisp, strong, and smooth. I checked other messages here about faux type probs, but no luck.
im using CAD07 &06 when i print out a drawing with lots of text some of it come out bold and some normal yet they are all the same font/height/size etc in the dwg?
does it make a diff if its mtext or single line text?
How do I edit line types? whenever I copy this particular existing line type into the other drawing the text style changes. There is no way of editing it when I go to the line's properties. I want to change the line type's Text style.
1. When in style and Standard editor with default standard selected under Standard I am trying to display mass properties in my view label.Select View Preferences tab. View type Base. Next to Display select Edit View Label. When Format Text box pops up in the selection for text type I have two options.
a. Properties - Model b. View Label Properties
2. Inside an IDW file right click on view and select edit view. When Drawing View box pops up there is the option to access Edit View Label next to View Identifier. When Format Text box pops up in the selection for text type at this point there are seven options.
a. Properties - Model b. Properties - Drawing c. Drawing Properties d. Sheet Properties e. Physical Properties - Model f. View Label Properties g. Sheet Metal Properties
Questions 1. Why are ther only two options in S&S Editor?
2. Can I add more options to S&S Editor?
I would like to add mass to my lablel inside certain templates and have it show when I display a views Base view label. Not ot have to maunually add it each time it is displayed.
When I type the TEXT command, even in a new (empty) drawing, I get the error message "The current text style is not valid" in reference to the <STANDARD> style.
This happens randomly when AutoCAD is started the first time after the computer is turned on, but If I close and reopen Autocad, the error always appears.
I have recorded an action to create a transparent image on a batch of photos. Next I ran the image processor using the File/Scripts/image processor. When running the action the error message occurs no matter how many ways I attempt to modify the action. Error: The object "Style "Shape Style"" is not currently available.
I then look in the action window to check and under the steps Make Fill Layer: Style: Shape, Style 1 appears but I can't delete it. This one error message makes it impossible for me to image process a batch of photos with a watermark on them.
I am a relative newcomer to Photoshop CS5. I have been creating a document with a background image layer and a couple of text box layers. The font is set at Arial, italic, sharp. When I save the document as a PDF file, random words appear in bold. I have tried deleting these words in the PSD document text layer and retyping them but they still appear as bold in the PDF file. Interestingly when I save as a JPEG image the bold words appear as normal. CS5 version is 12.0.4 and OS is Windows XP.
I want to create text on a circle path, so drew the circle, went to the "type on a path tool" and clicked on the circle. I keep getting the message "can't create type". I have tried to use the direct selection tool to select the circle first and without the direct selection.
the text always appears bold both on screen and printed in my student work. My tutor has now commented as it detracts from the thickness of picture lines. So i need to figure out how to change this. I have never selected bold.
In the 2D diagram I am working on at the moment i am using single line text, dimension text and text within a table key on the side. It is all the same in terms of boldness. I have seen other students work with less bold text and i need mine to be like this.
I have selcted standard style, size 6.000 and it is not annotative. Is text affected by lineweight or layers?
I have a type layer with some text in it (a headline, let's say). I click on the layer, I click on the Character Panel, and first thing I see is the color in the Panel is not the color of the font in the layer.
I then click on any Panel property, and the text in this layer is replaced by text from another layer in my document ( a paragraph layer, let's say), but the color is not the same as the layer the text came from.
I have a detail section of millwork ... and some of the text is bold and some are not. But the weird thing is that all the text is from the same style, none of the text is bold and they are all the same size. So why are some bold and some not? See attached, running Autocad Architecture 2011 on XP 64.
This is a problem running through only some of my drawings, I have tried forcing the z value to 0, no change. I have tried setting the ucs to current, world, no change. I have tried to flatten the text, no change.
I have dwg files with Calibri font (our standard font style) that I am trying to xref into one drawing (a bunch of detail dwgs essentially). The detail looks fine in its own dwg - but when I xref the dwg into another dwg some text elements appear bold. I've check ALL of my font styles - nothing is selected to "bold"... I scale the x,y and z to the same scale.
I have read many topics that talk about TTF text printing bold under various circumstances, but have not found one addressing my exact issue. I have attached a PDF with which I hope to illustrate my problem.
I have a non-annotative, Scale = 1, all elevations = 0, block; My text is PDF's as text whenever the block is left at 90 or is exploded then rotated. But whenever the blocked is rotated (any amount) the text is no longer interpreted as text, it prints bold.
I need to be able to align my blocks to other, rotated, objects in both model and paper space; so this issue is causing my a fair amount of grief. I have been told switching to a shx font is out of the question.
why the mtext in the blue viewport prints bold (attached) when the rest of the text in an other viewport or paperscape prints fine? You can see this in the plot preview when zoomed far enough out.
This is plaguing many drawings thoughout the company I work for and no one can figure it out. The only work around I have been able to come up with print everything to PDF first and then to the plotter which is a real pain.
creating a PDF out of my Illustrator document - I have a bunch of identical headers which I've literally copy & pasted in place on every page so they are exactly the same. Yet, some pages - when exported to a PDF - are inexplicably bold and ugly! I've exported the entire document at once so it's not cause of different publication settings. I just can't explain why the PDF displays some of the titles differently - when they are exactly identical. how I can fix this display/export error? It looks like I've accidentally used a bold font on some titles, which is not the case.
I import sequences into illustrator composed of hundreds of text letters. How do I make text bold many letters at a time? I can do one letter at a time but I need to do 20-30 at a time.
I have this strange situation.. i use the Arial font inside my cad drawings and when i print my paperspace layout, the text inside the viewport is a little bit more "bold" then the text i put directly on paper space.
Maybe it's a trick to know what text is placed where, but i want all this to be uniform, same thickness. Is there a system variable to correct that issue?
See the image below: It's a 400 DPI scan from an impression i did.
Up to COUPE C1 is the text inside the viewport, under COUPE C1is the paperspace text. Both are the same height... but difference tickness.
So I was doing a live stream and we got talking about subtle lighting effects and how you can create them by doing really subtle things in 1 of the examples I demonstrated 1 of my favourite forms and that is using a gradient set to overlay and then a gaussian blur and faded.
What kind of lighting /colour editing do you use share different techniques.
Straight lighting
Subtle colour cast lighting effects
Ok not best examples and many may prefer the none altered version but this was my latest work on my desktop and was used at the time.
I got a word doc file but when I copy and paste the text into coreldraw I lose all the italics and bold. It's 4 pages with lots of bold and itallics and needs to be reflowed in draw but retain exact italics and bold. When I paste it into draw, I lose all the bold/italic formatting. Are there any workarounds to get the bold and italic text to copy and paste into draw?
