Image not updating after applying filter in CS6. Preview is generated but filter won't apply. Very sporadic so I'm assuming it might be a memory problem. Using on Win7, AMD Phenom II, with 8 GB of memory.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using feather on image photo to create the all corner faded edges however after I upgraded to ver CS6, I encounter this problem when I applying the same method using feather (radius: 15-20) on the image photo and did an inverse, a warning message popped out
"Warning: no pixels are more than 50% selected the selection edges will not be visible". Hence, cannot apply any feather on the image, My image is a full solid color layer.
I am applying Artistic filters to an image in Photoshop. Some of the filters are turning the image into a black and white image, for example, the "torn edges filter." And it then does not seem possible to change that layer into a colored layer. Other filters, such as "glass" leave the image its original color. Is it possible to use the torn edges filter without turning the image black and white?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI open a .dng file which was in greyscale. Then converted it to RGB. Applied the effect Graphic Pen. Added a new layer, fill it with red, changed mode to Overylay, and when I tried merging down, or saving as a jpeg, it converts the image right back to B&W. I even tried changing my brush to red and Overlay mode, it just won't let me color the image at all. I've tried hue/saturation, and when I try to save the adjustment, it converts right back to B&W. I'm in the process of prepping individual components of a design for Flash animation. I'm trying to apply a layer of #7C6844 with the color effect at 56% opacity and a layer of #999999 with the color burn effect at 12% opacity to the foreground image which has a transparent background. This task has proved to be rather impossible for me, but it seems like there should be a way to do it. I would use the wand tool > select inverse and apply the colors over top that way, but the foreground image has a lot of leaves and branches, so that method would be extremely tedious.
Is there a way I can select the entire image as a whole and leave out the background?
I'll attach the image and the desired result to further assist.
I'm trying to apply a stroke to a .jpg image in Illustrator 6, and even though the weight and color show in the windows, the object itself has no visible stroke.

I've been trying to do it by -
'Select > All ' then ' Select > feather ' applying the amount of feather (i did an inch just to make sure).
But it made no difference - i tried exporting this as a JPEG to see if it came up then but it still didn't make a difference...

Is there a faster way to advance to the next image after applying a keyword than using the mouse to select the next image from the library browser? A feature similar to the Shift>[rating number] trick to advance to the next image while assigning ratings?

I updated to Illustrator 17.1, and now my image links no longer auto-update after they have been edited in Photoshop. As most should know, this has long been a feature: tweak an image file in Photoshop, save it (same file name), and Illustrator will recognize the image has been edited and ask if you want to update it automatically. Hit 'Return', as 'Okay' is the default dialog button action, and image updated: one step. Without auto-update, user must manually access link palette, select edited image link, and 'Relink' the image ('Update Link' unavailable here now as well): three-plus steps (including identifying and selecting image file after 'Relink').

Primary Problem: The image counts represented on folders in LR are not reflecting accurate counts until I run "Synchronize Folder" option. This occurs on a fairly frequent basis and in a number of cases I can reproduce the problem.
History: This missing of images in a folder has been plaguing me since the initial release of LR. During that time I opened a case and Adobe Technical Support who took over my desktop and were also able to reproduce the problem. They had no fix but said that it was a software bug and would be corrected in a subsequent release. I am now on LR 4.1 and it still is present.
Specific Examples:
1) I will go to a folder looking for an image that I know at one time was visible in LR but now it no longer is there. So, I search for it using LR on such attributes as filename or keywords without success. I then open up Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder and there it is. I can even right-click on the file name and open it up in Adobe Photoshop. I don't like going that route because I lose any adjustments I may have applied in LR. So my solution has been to right-click on the folder of the file that is missing the image(s) and select "synchronize folder". I am then presented with a dialog box that displays the number of missing (that LR calls"new") photos. Next, I click on the "Synchronize" button in which I am then presented with the import screen and shown the missing images. I then click on "Import" button and when the updating process is finished the folder Count is now correct and image shows up in the folder.
2) I can reproduce this behavior every time when I open an image in PS from LR, duplicate it, convert the duplicate to Black & White (Image-->Adjustments-->"Black & White"), apply an action to reduce the file size and change the color space, and then save it as a jpeg in a folder called "web" sitting under the original source folder. After saving it the count on the folder does not change, at least not until I go through the "Synchronize Folder" process. Ironically, if I now go to the original color image that the B&W was duplicated from and convert and save it as a jpeg to the same folder the folder updates immediately.
3) After importing a large number of images from a photo session into LR (via a card reader) I will delete the unwanted images, assign a subject specific naming convention to the remaining ones, attach keywords, and then use the export function to transfer them to their various subject related folders for long-term storage. Since missing images has been a long-standing problem for me, out of paranoia I will go to the folders to verify that the images are present For example, recently I exported 50 images to a folder and then went to it to verify all the images transferred correctly. I was unable to find five of the images. After running "Synchronize Folder" the folder amount was updated in the images appeared in the folder. All of files in this case were Canon RAW (CR2).
i am trying to create an Action in CS3 but some of my actions are not been recorded.
What i want to do is run the Batch option on a folder with a 1,000 PDFs in it. The PDFs (which were created in Illustrator CS3) consist of a single page with a single embedded image at the foot of the page. I am trying to update that embedded image. The Actions i am trying to record are...
1) Select the single image in the Links palette.
2) Choose the "Relink.." option in the drop down menu of the Links palette.
3) Navigate to the new image and select "Place".
4) Save and close document.
But the first two actions are not been recorded.
From trying this manually the new image seems to take on the horizontal and vertical scaling of the previous image which is what i want. But if i am going to have to do a script then that is a factor that may have to be incorporated into the script.
I am using Mech 2007. I have created a template to use with new drawings, and want to know if there is a way to update all the drawings at the same time when updating the template.

Now when I try to use it, the filter window comes up, and it notes that the image I want to work on is at 25% size, but it remains blank -- the image itself never shows.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI've installed PS CC and have an AMD Radeon HD 7970M card in my laptop. PS detects the card in Preferences and I'm able to choose it for acceleration (i.e. OpenCL, etc.).
When I try and go Filter -> Liquify on any image, the Liquify dialog pops up, but i don't see the image. All I see is a black in the dialog.
When I turn off acceleration, and go to Liquify, it works.
All of a sudden my images turn white when I go to apply sketch halftone to image.It worked before.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).
In the "movie prime" setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?
camera raw filter does not show up on the filter drop list on CC. I am trying to determine why this is the case. So far everything else seems to work.
