Is there anyway I can undo "add to shape area" effect. I am not talking about the case where I can go back with step backward. I am talking the case where I have saved my work, closed Ps, reopen it, and then undoing the "add to shape area" effect.
I was going through an exercise and tried to use one of the listed shortcuts to viewing (Alt+LMB+click) and it made the Maya workarea screens dark grey. My attempted efforts to find out how to undo this failed.
Not sure if I mis-typed the above or what. Only the work areas are dark gray.
If I select the vetor mask of a layer, then easily I can use the "add to shape area" feature, and as such, two different shapes will behave as one.Of course I must first select the vector mask. But, is there a way I can go the other way?
First creating a shape layer and then adding it to a layer, using the "add to shape area" feature.
Working through CS4 Classroom In A Book. Page 257 tells me to sellect the Subtract From Shape Option or press either the hyphen or minus key. There is no Subtract From Shape Option on my tool box and pressing the hyphen or minus key does nothing.
I need to place a circle selection around a ring shape in a gif graphic and then delete the background outside of the ring shape. The gif I am working with is a square shape with a green background and on that is a white circle shape with lettering going around it and a small pic inside the circle shape. I want to only use the white circle shape with the text going around it and the pic inside and discard the green square background appearing outside the ring.
I think it'd be so cool to be able to replay your entire undo history of a picture, so you can see and show others how you proceeded on a picture you made. That way, it's never necessary to capture screen video for like 10 hours and stuff..
So first you'd need to add an option to save the undo history (so that you always keep the history from when you started). Then you'd need an option to playback the undo history.
I have a problem understanding how undo marks are added to the undo stack. In the code below a fan of lines are draw in a random location. If you run MTest a few times, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove the fans one at a time.
If you run MMulti to draw 10 fans, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove all the fans in a single step.I want to be able to remove the fans one at a time.I thought that a StartTransaction / Commit pair would act as markers for the undo stack, but this isn't working.
Tested on AutoCAD 2010 VS 2008 <CommandMethod("MMult")> _ Sub testmult() Dim i As Integer For i = 1 To 10 Call testdraw() Next End Sub [code]....
I am owner of the Xtreme5 Xara version (i've not already get more recents ones ! ), and I would like to know if it is possible to change the text area, not to have a squirreled shape for this text. (Or if there another method, I am interested in too !)
Very useful when you have to surround the shape of a picture, for instance...
I work with maps, and i hatched a area, with a irregular shape, now i want to know this area, how can i proceed?? I already selected all area and clicked on properties to see Geometry information, acumulative... Did the List Comand.. and nothing.
The basic premise is that I've built a grid of 100x100 tiles and aim constrained them to a locator. Now I'm wondering if I could somehow attach an "area of effect" to the locator so that only the closest tiles aim at the locator and the rest lay unchanged?
Using Illustrator CC. I made a sphere shape and reshaped it using a warp effect.
Now when I try use a transform command (reflect or rotate) it only effects the “original” bound box which is the sphere I first made, and not my warp effect shape. My question is can I modify a shape after I apply a warp effect?
I am trying to make a shape made from the blob tool made into hafltones. I do not want it as a gradient, just equal sized halftones throughout the shape. Is this possible?
When I do it using Effects/pixilate/color haltone it makes multiple colored halftones, whereas I just want one color. And when I change the channel's it comes up with similar results.
I've recently migrated from AutoCAD 2008 (non-industry specific) to AutoCAD 2010 so I don't know if this was an issue in 2009.
Back in 2008, when I choose the 'window' option when specifying a plot area, AutoCAD would show the workspace so that I could manually select a windowed plot area, and at the same time the whole workspace would be greyed out except the previously active window area.
This was handy, because we can have as many two dozen title-blocks (and therefore separate viewports) in paperspace, and knowing what plot area I last plotted or added as a saved page setup.
In 2010, it no longer does that. I now have to rely on the dashed border to know where the active plot area is/was (checked 'display printable area' in options>display tab) which I personally don't really like using.
How to changes the settings for the "Square Area" in mapcheck's closure summary. When I right-click the dwg name in the Settings tab of Toolspace and choose Edit Drawing Settings, then Ambient Settings, I see the Area settings, but in the closure summary, there is also "Square Area". Why are these both there? It WOULD be nice to show sq. ft. as well as acres, but I can't find anywhere to edit it.

I want to know if there is an easier ACAD solution for drawing. In the given triangle of ABC (sides and angels are known) I want to draw line CM so that the area of BCM becomes 2000 cm (are of ABC is 5311.7 cm3).
Is there an easy ACAD way for drawing this line without using trigonometry for calculation?
I need to determine whether an area intersects with another area. The left case can be easily determined by Polyline.IntersectWith(Polyline...).But in the right case, the two polygons intersect/overlap each other while polylines do not intersect.
What would be the efficient way to determine the right case polygons are intersecting polygons?
After selecting the area type tool, I try to click and drag but I get an error message: You must click on a non-compound, non-masking path to create text inside a path. This worked before but I must have screwed something up.
In Photoshop CS6, when you have a shape layer with a layer mask, and the two are not linked together, and the layer mask is selected, you should be able to scale the layer mask independently of the shape. What actually happens is the shape gets scaled and the layer mask stays untouched. In fact, even if you option-click on the layer mask to show the mask by itself, and then try to scale it, you still end up scaling the shape instead of the mask. Even if you go as far as to make a pixel selection of the layer mask and attempt to scale the pixels, the shape still gets scaled and the layer mask still stays put! Unbelievable!
This works correctly in CS4, but not in CS6 (don't know about CS5).
I want to make a vector shape from a path. Is there a way to bypass having to define a new custom shape? I just want to quickly add the vector shape to a new layer, but I don't need it defined as it'll just be used once.
I've made the switch from Photoshop v7 to Photoshop CS2 (yay), but theres this one very annoying little nuisance! In v7, i could try some things out and experiment with things, and if i was unsatisfied with the results, i would just pres Ctrl+Z a couple dozen times, and voila! Back to where I would experiment some more. However, in CS2, i can't find out how to set so that i can UNDO more than once. It just toggles between UNDO and REDO. Its just a minor annoyance, but it really bugs me. Is there a way to undo more than once (or a whole lot ) by pressing Ctrl+Z or another keyboard shortcut, or am i stuck to using the history window?
any way to delete more than a single shape at a time from a shape collection file, other like step by step with the option key? I have one collection with about 400 shapes and would like to save it to some "groups", like people, arrows, devices..
Since the release of Photoshop CC the "Live Shape Properties" has basically chosen when it does and does not want to show up.... sometimes I even create a new shape to replace the old one and it STILL does not show the live shape properties... how hard is it to make sure the options are available at all times? I opt for a discount since this is a half working application and the features you highlighted barely function...
