When one opens an image via CS5's ACR, blown out regions are shown in red and there is a "recover" slider. How do I turn on the blown out detection in CS6's ACR and can I turn on a "recover" slider.
View 7 RepliesI have taken a photo outside which has my subject and background is trees and sky. Sadly the sky has blown out and is practically white. What I wold like to do is replace it with blue sky and clouds. I have my original photo, then created a layer of the same image to create a more rich in colour by using overlay which is fine. But now I need to improve the sky, but when I create a new layer (blank) and click filer, render, clouds it overlays over the top completely.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI am using a Nikon D200 and Photoshop CS3. I am shooting 1 stop plus/minus and merging to HDR. It seems that the highlights are always getting blown out much more than the middle image. The shadows are brought up fairly well, but the entire upper end of the curve seems blown out with loss of contrast. I have been experimenting with different methods during the 32 to 16 bit conversion to correct it but have not been so pleased with the results. I can get the highlights back down, but the upper end is fairly washed out with loss of contrast. It seems like the middle part of the curve is also pushed up a bit which would account for the loss of upper end contrast.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm comparing the memory settings of my new installation of CS4 with my old CS2, and note the following discrepancy (under Edit -> Preferences -> Memory/Performance):
Available RAM
CS4 2569 MB
CS2 2698 MB
CS4 is thus missing 129 MB of available RAM.
these values are indicators of available addressable memory space only, and have nothing to do with the RAM actually free or in use by Photoshop at that time. In that case, they should be the same for both CS4 and CS2, but they are not.
For those of you with both CS4 and any prior version of Photoshop still installed, do you see similar discrepancies?
I hope this is the right place to ask. I have had some people complain that there is often noise in many my photos. The problem is I am unable to see it myself. Maybe it is my poor vision. Mt question is, "Is there a way that a person can make the area of a phot that has noise in it stand out like in a highlite or something making it obvious where it needs removed?"
I am envisioning a software that makes all areas of the photo red where the noise is. I have the software tools that you use to remove it but first I need to be able to see it. If this is the wrong forum for this question, please direct me to where the right one is. Notice, I did not say, "Tell me where I can go?.

I currently have a Lenovo X61T Tablet PC and I am testing out Photoshop CS4.When I try to set the brush to be pressure sensitive I get the little "!" icon displayed saying that I must have a tablet installed for this feature to work.I also have the FREE program of “Paint.net” installed on this tablet pc and that is able to detect the pressure sensitivity perfectly. So I would have thought this would rule out any driver issue as the functionality is working its just that Photoshop doesn’t seem to detect it and enable it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have taken three images from LR5 and edited in HDR-Pro in PS CC directly from LR. I did not do anything to the images prior to moving them into HDR Pro. Used ACR to tone map, then saved the photo using "save". When I go back to LR5, the picture is nowhere what it is in PS. Highlights are blown and greatly over exposed. The same saved TIF looks great in PS.

i am looking to create a blown up square (so with rounded corners and bended/oval sides)
the one attached is with the pucker/bloat effect, but only at 2-3% maximum since the corners are starting to disform (as you can see already below).
there must be way to create good blown up squares (maybe there's another common term for these kind of squares)...?
I'm new to LR4 and I need to burn some blown out photos. When clicking on the brush, choosing burn (darken), I then hold down "O" to highlight my work.
When I click the brush on the area to be burned, it puts a black dot there, moving the brush does not leave the red trail so I can see ehat I'm burning. Then when I move the exposure slider, nothing happens.
WHy is it leaving that dot and why cant I burn? It has been working fine for weeks, I must have hit a button or changed a setting.
I went to multiple other photos with no luck, rebooted my Mac, no luck.
I tryed brush A & B and it was working on B but it was much more intense of a burn and not what I was looking for.
I was developing the other day in LR my fingers hit a key on the keyboard that sent the marching ants around the blown sky on my image. I was able to bring back ALL the detal in the sky by sliding the highlight slider down and I can tfigure out how in the world I got that selected?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Illustrator CC every time I click Merge Paint I need to go back to Live Paint > Gap Options > and reset Gap Detections to "Paint stop at Small Gaps". Despite I set "Paint stop at Small Gaps" as my default many times now, it seems that Illustrator CC does reset it automatically to "Custom Gaps" and therefore Merge Paint doesn't work correctly. A nightmare, I am forced to use Illustrator CS6!

I'm seeking full control and want to select the boundaries myself and hope some of you can tell how to switch off or avoid this automatic process of boundary detection that usually follows "h" ↵ ( "hatch" ↵ or "bhatch" ↵ ).
It seems to me at one time I was able to just click the check box "Enable Profile Corrections" and LR would automatically detect the lens I used and apply it. Now it wants me to scroll through the list to the bracnd name--then it applies it.

I thought there might have been a feature where cs6 lists the colours in the 'current colours' drop down list.
Yellow, pink and blue are the ones that have automatically appeared but i cant see my current colour group.

I want to have some kind of collision-detection within two symbols. So when one symbol collides with another there will appear be text like "squash" or something.
I haven't found anything about collision-detecting in edge animate, but I thought I could handle it with looking for the same css-parameters of both symbols. Obj1 is moving to Obj2 on a motion path. Now I want to have a Text, when it reaches Obj2.So I tried it like this:

View 4 Replies View Related20110421veiwports turning off.jpg AutoCAD isnt being nice to me lately another hassle i have is the viewports randomly turn off ( they dont show anything) and when i turn those ones on, others turn off.
i dont know how to change the topic to "solved" however a collegue told me to enter MAXACTVP at the command line the value was 16, i was told to set it to 64 ( i had 21 viewports ) and they all came on.
I got a new HP computer. All I have loaded is CS3 Premium and Artizen. It has Vista Premium as the OS, it came OEM. So far I've managed to strip it down as much as I can..( remove all the trial software it came with ). This computer isn't connected to the internet nor do I want it connected. I use it strictly for Digital photography and my internet connection is on another machine. I want this one 'virus', spam and spyware free. ( sterile ).
So here's the problem... I keep getting this 'NAG' that I don't have an anti-virus program running and my computer's at risk. How do I tell the damn machine that I am not connected to the internet and don't want an anti-virus eating up my resources and to leave me alone?
I would like to take 2 Rounded Rectangle shapes that I have rotated by 45 degrees and make them one shape so that the Paths of each rectangle become one. I've looked up Paths, Shapes and other things in the manual but I've been unable to narrow down the right keywords to find what I'm looking for.
I have used the Pen Tool but I'm not satisfied with the outcome of the Rounded Corners. I know I can use Combine Shapes but not when I first need to Rotate the shape.
Pretty sure I've done this before but for the life of me I cannot recall how nor can I find it in my notes. Here's a pic of what I want to change into one shape with one continuous path.
No matter what I do, the pen tilt won't turn off! It happens on all brushes, Whenever I change the angle at which I'm holding the pen, the shape of the line the brush makes changes. It won't stop, even when I adjust the settings in Shape Dynamics. I'm not very experienced with different brushes, and a little while ago I was adjusting one, and now the pen tilt won't stop. I use Photoshop CS6 and an Intuos4 Tablet, on Windows 7.
