Dec 28, 2012

I haven't used illustrator for a while so I'm really stuck on soemthing that should be simple.

I want to create a shape that has round corners on the bottom and square cormers at the top.

I was hoping to put them together then use the pathfinder to unite them but this then make the round corner square.

Is it possible to unite shapes with different corners.

Photoshop :: Create An Action: Insert Square Box In

Jun 29, 2009

I have a problem with the Actions of Photoshop, I wish you can help me: I need to put a square box (or a point, some kind of mark) in the corner of the bottom-left in hundreds of images, so I think an Action is the best way to do it but I don't know how can I do it, because I need that the mark can adapt itself to the size of each image: it have to be the 5% of the size of the original image.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Create A Square Aztec Pattern?

I am currentrly trying to pattern a series of square holes that form a simple aztec pattern (attached). I am planning to fill the holes with black dye/paint in order to represent the aztec pattern (hence the holes need to only be about 5mm deep.

The pattern itself should be about 2cm*2cm.Is there a way to use an image such as the one attached  and make it automatically translate  that into holes, or do I have to draw it all manually? If I do have to do it manually, c how to create square holes?

AutoCad :: How To Create A1 Size Sheet On Which 4 Floor Plans Placed In Square

Sep 2, 2011

I have 5 plans in a single autocad file. I recently saw a layout option that fixes the view and the areas that you want to print. I want to do like this.

1 layout I want to create is of an A1 size sheet on which these 4 floor plans are placed in a square fashion, i.e. each plan on one vertice of a square. I want to set the printer output option as a postscript level 2 file in another layout I want to put the site plan on an A1 sheet. Here I also want a postcript level 2 file.

However in my original drawing, these plans are placed next to each other in a linear fashion. Is this possible?

AutoCAD LT :: Create Template For Cutting Square Hole 125 Mm On A Side?

Jun 29, 2012

Here's something that should be simple, I want to create a template for cutting a square hole 125 mm on a side.

I have gone into Drawing Utilities and set the units to millimeters. I drew a square 125 units on a side.

In paper space, I selected a template that is 11" X 17".  I set the scale to 1:1. I thought that that would give me a sheet I could print out ledger size with a 125mm square drawn on it, but no, it is not even close.  As near as I can figure, the square is 125" on a side in paper space.

Photoshop :: Sky Blown Out

I have taken a photo outside which has my subject and background is trees and sky. Sadly the sky has blown out and is practically white. What I wold like to do is replace it with blue sky and clouds. I have my original photo, then created a layer of the same image to create a more rich in colour by using overlay which is fine. But now I need to improve the sky, but when I create a new layer (blank) and click filer, render, clouds it overlays over the top completely.

Photoshop :: HDR - Blown Highlights

Feb 9, 2009

I am using a Nikon D200 and Photoshop CS3. I am shooting 1 stop plus/minus and merging to HDR. It seems that the highlights are always getting blown out much more than the middle image. The shadows are brought up fairly well, but the entire upper end of the curve seems blown out with loss of contrast. I have been experimenting with different methods during the 32 to 16 bit conversion to correct it but have not been so pleased with the results. I can get the highlights back down, but the upper end is fairly washed out with loss of contrast. It seems like the middle part of the curve is also pushed up a bit which would account for the loss of upper end contrast.

Lightroom :: HDR Images From PS CC Blown Out In LR5

Sep 1, 2013

So I have taken three images from LR5 and edited in HDR-Pro in PS CC directly from LR.  I did not do anything to the images prior to moving them into HDR Pro.  Used ACR to tone map, then saved the photo using "save".  When I go back to LR5, the picture is nowhere what it is in PS.  Highlights are blown and greatly over exposed.  The same saved TIF looks great in PS.

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Create Sheet Metal Parts With Square Shapes And Bends Them

Nov 28, 2011

Let me start by saying that we rarely use sheet metal parts so I'm not real familiar with that interface.  That said, I can create sheet metal parts with square shapes and bends just fine.  However, I'm currently stumped as to the best way to model what should be a pretty simple plate.

We have a large, thin (1/8") square plate to which we want to add 2 opposing diagonal very slight breaks to add stiffness to the plate.  More specifically, we want these diagonal bends to cover the center part of the plate leaving about a 2" flat flange all the way around the plate.

Lightroom :: 4 - How To Burn Blown Out Photos

Oct 5, 2012

I'm new to LR4 and I need to burn some blown out photos.  When clicking on the brush, choosing burn (darken), I then hold down "O" to highlight my work.

When I click the brush on the area to be burned, it puts a black dot there, moving the brush does not leave the red trail so I can see ehat I'm burning. Then when I move the exposure slider, nothing happens.

WHy is it leaving that dot and why cant I burn?  It has been working fine for weeks, I must have hit a button or changed a setting.

I went to multiple other photos with no luck, rebooted my Mac, no luck.

I tryed brush A & B and it was working on B but it was much more intense of a burn and not what I was looking for.

When I try move the square to another spot the blue outline moves but the the square is still in the old spot. I have to click several times for the square to show up in the new spot even then it takes a few seconds for the square to move.

Also I can't close the window I am working on. When I click the red button in the upper left corner of the canvas the window won't close.

I can't quit illustrator CC either. I have to force quit it to close it.

Illustrator :: How To Add Blend Layer To A Shape By Creating A Square

Mar 21, 2013

I have a shape that I want to add a blend layer to by creating a square, adding a gradient then making it an overlay on top of said shape. The issue I am having is I cant find a way of masking out the unwanted areas of the blend layer. I have tried to follow the steps the official help and other internet help sections but it's not working. It's so easy in photoshop. How come it's so difficult in Illustrator? Is there something I am missing? Additionally, a blend layer (in most modes) wouldn't show any colour if overlaying upon white in photoshop. How come this isn't so in Illustrator?

Illustrator :: How To Align A Line / Object INSIDE A Square

Sep 27, 2012

I created a square in which I have to draw vertical lines in it. I want the first line to start at 2.5 cm from the left segment of the square.

In a different way to say it just to be clear enough, I want to align the segment (inside the square) from the left vertical line of the square, put 2.5 cm to the right, and then there's my line.

When I try to align it using the align tool, I use the square as a key object. But it select ALL the square, so it puts my line 2.5 cm but to the far right of the square, outside my artwork. I'd want to select only the left line of the square.

Illustrator :: Increase Square Size To 4.125in By 3.875in

Jul 11, 2012

I have never used crop marks before.  I am trying to do an Illustrator tutorial intended for CS3.  The instructions say:

"Select the square, and in the Menu go Filter > Create > Crop Marks. Increase the square size to 4.125in by 3.875in. This square will be the size of our image, which is 1/8in larger than the crop marks. This ensures no white-space when you or the printers cut these labels out."

I found a way to make crop marks in CS6 using effect>cropmarks.  The problem is when I increase the size of the square it also increases the crop marks.  But it says in the square will be 1/8in larger than the crop marks.  What am I doing wrong?
