Photoshop :: How To Take A Grayscale Image, & Automate The Match Color Process W/multiple Colors

Jul 15, 2009

how to use the match color tool to automatically convert one grayscale image into multiple output images based on a collection of color swatches? Or a better process to achieve this automated?

I have all the swatches in psd files in one directory. I can do them one-by-one but I was wondering if there was a way to automate this process and have it spit out and save the different images automatically based on the saved swatch colors.

Photoshop :: CS5 Paint Bucket Colors Do Not Match Selected Color Picker Colors

Jun 28, 2012

I recently installed CS5 on my laptop after first removing it from my previous machine. All licences were validated so no problems there. Now when using paint bucket in Photoshop, the colors that I select in the color picker are not the colors that result when I use the paint bucket.

If I create a new black canvas then the colors selected in color picker work with paint bucket. But if I attempt to recolor the background in an existing image that I import into Photoshop, I get the mismatch with colors when I use paint bucket. My method for selecting colors is the same in each case, I select 'set foreground color' and set the color using html values entry at the bottom of the panel.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Palette Changing Treat As Process / Spot For Multiple Colors

Mar 17, 2011

I have a palette provided by Roland for their digital printers to match their standard colors. In order for the colors to be recognized and converted by the RIP, they need to be set as spot colors in CorelDraw X5.

It would be nice if I could change the Treat As Process/Spot attribute for multiple colors at once in the palette editor.

I peeked at the CPL file--unfortunately it's not something easy to edit like XML, CSV or the like. Too bad that, too.

Photoshop :: Apply Match Color To Multiple Layers?

Jun 23, 2012

I have to deal with multiple layer documents for producing underwater mosaics. Very often, the images vary in colors a bit. For large mosaics, I run the images thru a batch job before I use them. For smaller mosaics (e.g. just 10 to 20 images), this is a bit of overkill, in case I have to tweak just 5 or 10 or so.

In this case, I prefer picking  one of the 20 layers as my "reference" and manually match the colors of those layers, that need the match, one by one.

My question now: Is there a way, that I could select, lets say 10 layers that need the match and apply the Match Color to all of them in one go?

Photoshop :: How-to Automate Process: Combining 2 Pics?

The result should look something like this (image size here is reduced for the sake of speed):

Photoshop :: Automate Process Of Scanning Bunch Of Old Public Domain Magazines

Aug 24, 2013

I'm trying to automate the process of scanning a bunch old public domain magazines.  When I try to create an Action to automate the process of the following mouse clicks:

File > Import > WIA Support
Click START button on WIA Support screen
Choose which device I want to use [flatbed scanner] > Click OK
Choose Custom Settings > Click PREVIEW

the Action stops at the very first step above (File > Import > WIA Support).

Maybe Actions aren't the best way to go about automating this entire process.  If there is a better way this can be done how do I go about it?  I want the macro / Action to stop at the last step above because I often need to adjust the portion of the page that I actually want scanned so I need to do the final step manually (actually scanning the page once I'm satisfied with the preview).

AutoCad 2D :: Automate Dimensioning Process?

Mar 4, 2013

I work in plumbing design and am constantly burdened by the tedious task of setting out hundreds upon thousands of penetrations every month for the guys on site to locate their plumbing points through the slab.

They use a GPS system to expedite the plotting, but first I provide a CAD file with just 3 layers; GRids ( a line ), Wastepoint ( a donut poly line ) and Fixture Name ( multi text) which the survey program can interpret and set out from ( actually, the surveyor only needs one point, which he grabs from the site grids that I provide ).

So that's all good, but on top of this I must dimension off the grids every point so that measurements can be done on site as back-up/cross checking.

Of course I can't have dims overlapping each other.

Is there any way to automate this part of the process? Taking a dim from the nearest grid (x and y axis) to the centre of the object I use for the penetration.

Photoshop :: Grayscale With Some Colors?

Sep 8, 2007

I've seen this effect used in some adverts on TV, as well as some pictures online (I really cant remember where, but I'll try to describe it as well as possible).

Let's say, for arguments sake, that they are advertising for an orange... a big fat juicy orange .

So, you'd see this guy holding the orange. However, the photo is made in such a way that everything is actually in grayscale, except for the orange itself, which is bright orange.

I have an idea that perhaps you select everything except the orange and then convert just that to grayscale, but surely there must be a quicker way if there are many of those objects? Perhaps you'd select a color range?

I have absolutely no idea, those are just my guesses. Any ideas on how to they achieve that effect?

Photoshop :: Create Flashcards With Photoshop And Automate The Process

Oct 10, 2008

I've seen that with Photoshop we can use batch processing to edit many images automatically.

My question is:
Is there some way that Photoshop import text from a MSExcel database and paste it in a text layer in my PSD file?.

I have a PSD template with 4 layers: the first one is the color base layer. The other 3 ones are the text layers. I want to import the registers of my Excel database and paste them in each text layer, and then save the image as a PNG file (by default the name of the PNG file would be the text of one of the text layers).
My Excel database has +1000 registers so I want to create +1000 images.

Can be possible that Photoshop do this with a script or addin or any other procedure?. If not possible, is there a way to do it with the help of a third-party software?. if not possible, is there any other software that do what I need?.

My objective is to create Flashcards with Photoshop.
I know that there are many specialized software to create flashcards but unfortunately none of them offer what I want because they create flashcards with plain text only. What I really need is to have my text with art (different types of letters, differente art, different sizes, diferent colors, etc), and I can only do this with Photoshop.

Illustrator :: CS6 - Converting PMS To Process For Files To Be Printed 4 Color Process

Oct 4, 2012

How the PMS color palettes "simulate" on screen how the color will print on different substrates (glossy vs matte vs uncoated paper). That's great for comps, but if you convert it to CMYK to print it, and the values are representing a "simulated" color it won't look correct (by that I mean come close to matching the spot color). For example, the uncoated palette simulates the color by making them appear a bit washed out on screen - pretty good visual simulation. But it might do so by adding black and cyan to orange for example, etc. - effectively dulling the original color.

So if I convert that to CMYK within the new Pantone + color palette, and then send it to the printer - it won't appear as it did on screen, it will dull the end color even more because it's converted the color to the dull simulated version - what a disaster! It's only doing half the job - showing us what it should look like on screen. In order to be truly efficient for design professionals the CMYK conversion might remove black and cyan completely to effectively brighten the color in the final output on uncoated paper. I would prefer it just stick to the standard conversion, which Pantone did have as a standard palette option (PMS to process), and then I can adjust if I think it's necessary.

Any corporate branding system will likely start with a PMS spot color palette for the identity. Then it will build into many different adaptations - full color brochures, large format banners and trade show graphics, website, advertising. So any corporate branding system will need to have PMS, CMYK and RGB versions of their main corporate color palette. There was a standard for these translations that was automatically consistent in the Adobe software and that is now all over the place, so it relies on individuals manually adapting the color mixes for final use - what a great way to screw things up.

Photoshop :: Colors Don't Match Other With Other Applications

May 4, 2008

Anything edited in photoshop appears different when viewed in another application. For example, I edit a photo in CS3, and then view it in Firefox - it is muted, the colors are drab examples of the bright hues displayed in Photoshop. If I bring anything done in photoshop into The Gimp, Polyview, or anything else I can think of, they all look identical in those other apps, they only appear different when compared against what an image looks like in Photoshop. I first noticed when uploading an image to Flickr, it looked great in Photoshop, and dramatically drab when uploaded. I then started doing some investigative work and discovered the system wide behavior. I'm a little stumped. Similarly, anything created in Gimp brought into CS3 looks different, it appears darker in CS3.
