When I expand a selection or move and image/object around then deselect the edges/parts that end up falling outside of the canvas area get deleted. How do I stop this? When I go move the layer around or resize it I can't because what ever parts landed outside of the canvas area have been deleted. This is on Photoshop CS6, I never had this problem with CS5.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt occurs on all canvas size, small to large. Alot of the pixels across the bottom and up and down the right side basicaly arn't working. For example I take the pencil too and attempt to fill a singel pixel on the bottom of teh canvas. The history records the use of the pencil tool but nothing appears on the canvas. The same is for the marquee tool. If I go a few pixels above the bottom row and select by draging down it will go to the bottom. But if I try to only select the bottom row the marquee outline does not appear and I am told no pixels were selected.
However when I use the fill too those same pixels along the bottom and up the right side are filled. After becoming extreamly agrivated and going nuts with the pencil tool I noticed that if I hold it down and and slide it toward one of the pixels I can eventualy get it, but only after penciling the surring 60 or so pixels.
I have restared photo shop 4 times with no luck. I'm not drawing on the background layer and the color i'm using is not the same as a color below it.

How do I stop it from doing this? I guess its in options somewhere but as I dont know what its called I dont know what to search for? I activated Photoshop on my new laptop and set my Preferences the way I like them and then I made a New Document and added a New Layer but when I clicked the New Layer Icon at the bottom of the Layers panel the area behind the canvas turned from a dark grey to transparent and then when I tried to draw a Rectangle shape the entire document became black and when I clicked the New Layer Icon again the black went away and the shape appeared and at the same time the area behind the canvas rotated through the dark grey, black and transparency again ...
to clarify ... at first the area behind the canvas went to transparent from a dark grey but under other circumstances like using the paintbrush, drawing shapes etc. the area behind the canvas will first be dark grey, then black and then transparent.
I tried resetting the Preferences by Alt + Ctrl + Shift at lauch of Ps but this didn't work at all.
The nice man at Adobe did something with my files and when done he placed a Prefs Icon on my desktop.
I wondering if maybe I ought to deactivate and reactivate or just out and out uninstall and reinstall.
I have Adobe CS4 for macs. Just today, every time I enclose an area with my polygonal lasso tool, it stopped closing the area and instead gives me the message "No pixels are more than 50% selected.
The selected edges will not be visible." I must have accidentally pressed something by mistake that makes the lasso tool not work anymore but I don't know what. Do I need to reset Photoshop? Any ways to reset it? I tried holding option,command shift but it still did not reset my Photoshop to its original settings.I also rebooted my computer several times with no success.

and i need the background area behind the soldiers to span across the whole canvas, creating a gradient and adding the smoke in will take ages and it probably wont look as good as hoped. my clone brush tool doesn't work because of a thing ubuntu has with the alt key, it stops me defining a source point the healing brush gets nowhere but where the Pixels are already not beyond.
I'm currently contemplating grabbing the end witht the select, duplicating it and blurring it, whether or not it looks daft is another matter.
Photoshop generator nice to have features for future roll-out would be: Check box or similar for transparent PSD file to generate the whole canvas area, not just the image area.The ability to generate to a specific folder, including on a networked drive within a shared environment.Ability to generate to no folder at all, place in the same location that the PSD file is located Ability to generate an animated GIF.

I accidentally deleted some photos from a memory card. I recovered them using software called "Recover My Files". This software recovered the files but now I can't open them in CS3. I took these with an old Canon Rebel DSLR and they should not need converting, they opened fine before I deleted them.

First I thought that putting « handlingCode » to « HandlingCodeEnum.evtCancelHandle » would do the job, but when I read the API, it says that Inventor doesn’t care about that output argument. Then, how can I cancel the deletion of an object when capturing ‘On Delete’ event ?
I am drawing an as-built plan and utilizing a scanned image of the plan as a go by. The image is referenced into the drawing. Sometime I want to turn the image off by selecting it and clicking "show image" icon on the show image > options tab. After turning the image off, if I forget to unselect the image before continuing, I risk deleting the image and creating an unreferenced image.
I thought i could solve the problem by locking the layer the image in on, but then I can not turn the image on and off!

The Anchor in the Canvas Size menu appears outlined (highlighted?) which indicates that this is something in preferences that I can adjust.
