I want to create similar effect using glass / distort filter but can't achieve it somehow co'z that filter doesn't allow you to add glass with custom shapes or horizontal / vertical.
I need to create a dynamic block for a "Glass Panel" in a balustrade. I need to be able to insert it, in one corner and stretch it in another corner, to suit the staircase angle.
I've created the block, but it isn't working correctly. I've attached a drawing, with the left hand drawing a sketch of how it needs to be. The right hand drawing is my dynamic block attempt. As can be seen, when the block is stretched between the 2 points, it doesn't follow the angle of the staircase correctly (Very slight run off)
how this guy achieved this?
I want to know if I'd be able to do it in Photoshop alone.
I am trying to create a glass roof structure over a staircase (see attached image - underground roof). I thought that I would do this by creating an in place mass, then adding either a roof or probably more likely a curtain wall system to the faces. However I am struggling to create the mass. I have made a wireframe of the roof (wireframe) using lines where the roof folds are, in autocad. I have then linked this in to Revit.
When I come to creating the Mass, I can only place lines using the "Pick line tool", which then only places lines on a specific reference plane (level 1,2 etc), so I only get a 2d footprint of the area I want to create this mass.
If I try to create a mass face using the 3d snapping tickbox, Revit fails to register that there are any lines for me to snap too. I have tried to "Tab", but this doesn't work either.
I am struggling to create a glass bottle and etch the logo into the side of it. Do I use a boolean or should I map an image?

I have created glass with the slate material editor, used specular 100, glossiness 80 in the Blinn dropdown. Ued mental ray. Looks good, very glassy. Now I want to put a pattern on the glass, like a silouette, only that it is also translucent, part of the glass, as though it was an "etched glass" pattern on the glass. Do i make the pattern into some kind of "mask"? and lay it over existing glass?

Would like to make a 8" CMU (section) hatch pattern, as an example, to use in automated sections that I generate.
Pretty easy to see where I'm headed w/ this.
Any easy conversion tool or the ability to explode the block, select everything for a hatch pattern and click "OK".

I was on an older cad and am now moving to 2014.. my previous cad was heavily customized the old school way, I have decided to learn the CUI (and dynamic blocks)
My old cad has blocks on a drop down menu.. click BATH menu than WC icon, a macro sets the correct layer than inserts the WC.. took time to setup but pretty simple and straight forward (see attached for menu syntax). I also made a toolbar BATH and on that toolbar I made a WC icon.. that’s what I use the most
couple of questions
1) do I have to make a new command in CUI for each block to do the same thing?
2) I looked into the design center, but seems like its too many steps but it seems a toolbar with an icon on it, clicking the icon and a macro sets layer and insert block is still pretty quick..??
3) if a toolbar with an icon is still a fast and less step method, can I open the block and somehow make an icon of it? if so where do I put it?
Just a quick query about Dynamic Blocks. I use dynamic blocks with various visibility states regularly in my drawings. Is it possible to add some kind of custom variable or value to a dynamic block so that I can identify them in automated scheduling?
For example, if I have a dynamic block which represents three variations of very similar machine models is it possible to somehow give each visibility state a value, ie: the model numbers. M100/M125/M150 etc which can then be extrapolated depending which visibility state is active?
Also regarding the limitations of dynamic blocks. Is there a number of visibility states I should not exceed so that the blocks still perform 100%?
I am having trouble getting a field in a multi leader which is part of a block to reference a sheet set custom property. I have fields within mtext in paper space that are not blocked that are referencing correctly but just not in my blocks.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two part files: Part A and Part B. Part A contains a sketch block, Block A, which will be used as a basis for Part B.
I derive Part B from Part A using a "Derived Part" to bring in only the sketch block (Block A) from Part A. When I do this, Inventor sets every dimension in Block A to "Export" and creates a custom iProperty for it. Then the Custom iProperties list in both Part B and Part A is cluttered with every dimension from Block A.
Is there any way to prevent it from creating all of these custom iProperties?

I am attempting to create a series of drawing templates in Inventor 2013.
I have successfully created four unique Sheet Formats with Border, Title Blocks, Revision Table, and text populated by iProperties.
I have a bunch of text that I want to have inside a square on the first page of a series of drawings. I draw the square in sketch mode, Create Sheet Format, and the sketch ends up as a separate AutoCAD Block ("SheetTemplates_XXX_Sketch1") rather than in the Sheet Format. I can place the block on the new sheet, but it can be placed anywhere as the block floats.
After spending a lot of time creating a particular dynamic block, I realized that the order of custom properties of this block as shown in the Properties Palette is not organized in an optimal order.
For example I have "Cabinet Width" at the top of the custom properties list, and "Cabinet Height" way down near the bottom. This is going to make my Cad operators hunt around too much for the property they need to adjust.
The apparent order is by creation - first created custom property is listed first, last created is shown last. I really don't want to remake this dynamic block just to get the properties in a logical order.
I was wondering if it is possible to reorder the custom properties as shown in the properties palette?
Is there a way to create custom LUT without going to other software? How did Chris Cox create them? Is there a PS script out there that I can use?

If I want to apply lens correction in ACR thgere is a dropdown list of lenses, but my lens isn't included. presumably because it has been superceded by the 12 - 24.
So, is it possible to create a custom profile for this lens and save it for future use? if so how do I do this?
I'm wanting to load a png file into photoshop & use a customised menu bar or perhaps a plugin to supply some specific image information as I work. The image is a game height-map. The pixel hex value represents the height of the terrain.
I wanting to load my map (image) into PS & display a new menu bar containing this information in textboxes & the like:
1. The hex value of the pixel the mouse is hovering over.
2. The corresponding height related to that hex value. This would be a customised calcuated field (textbox).
3. A combo or spinbox with height values, so that you would select the desired height to pain onto the map, and the pain fill tool would automatically select the corresponding color to pain based on custom calculated conversion of height to correcponsing hex (color) value.
Do I need to write a plugin? or maybe ctionscript with a custom toolbar?

Here's what I have trouble with, I want to make the 2 "rectangles" in the fridge drawing stretch accordingly when I move the arrows for the compressor (the X).
But I want them to scale together and move so that they are still within the fridge part.

I have looked everywhere on the net for a decent instruction on how to create alphabet Blocks in illustrator. I have version CS6. I have found a few but none works well. I want the blocks to be 3d and to have a wooden grain look to the block.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've done a reasonable amount of work with dynamic blocks. I have a block with a rotation action and grip to arbitrarily align it. However I realized when trying to combine it with an alignment grip (which actions on the basic or fundamental block rotation angle) that there didn't seem to be a way to some how link a dynamic block rotation action or one of the custom angle properties to a the fundamental block rotation angle. Thus there are two additive rotations at work; the dynamic block one with its grip and the fundamental rotation property.
This can cause some confusion when one person aligns with the grip and another via rotating the block's fundamental property and would also be problematic in the generalized sense if one was trying to select or programmatically read back the net angle alignment.
