Photoshop :: How To Change Checked Clothes To Solid Color?
Jul 12, 2004
I took a picture of my 3 year old daughter on the beach this past weekend, and since I didn't want to spend the money on a fancy white dress, I thought I would use an existing one, and then photoshop it to white. Well, the only dress we had with us on the trip was a pink/shite checkered dress, not a solid color. I'm having one heck of a time doing this.
I've tried both the color change, and the hue/saturation tools, and although I'm able to change the dress from pinkish to white, I am unable to get rid of the checkerboard pattern.

I have a solid red image and I want to change that red to an exact red hex code I have. Is there a way to change this color without affecting the quality of the image? I thought this would be really easy, but everything I've found online doesn't give me the color I want, or It doesn't allow me to be 100% accurate.

I am making a design on inventor 2013 for a colleague who does not know how to use the inventor.
I want to make the solid and then set something up that allows the user to change a few of the parameters of the solid in a very user friendly way (i.e. a box that says "cylinder radius" and has an input box so the user can enter a value).

I have a solid green rectangle.
I would like to create several similar green rectangles at various levels of transparency that will perfectly match the color of the solid green rectangle. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have tried matching it by eye, and can get very close:
the original solid green rectangle is R:135 G: 174 B: 155
after making a copy of the solid green rectangle, say, 90% transparent, I can play with Hue/Saturation to get around R:136 G:175 B: 154, according to the eyedropper. But I don't see any way of fine tuning the RGB/HSB/etc. absolute values in the transparent version.

I am a texture designer as a hobby for an online game called Eternal Lands.
Ususally I just make my own textures, but I wanted to edit an existing texture this time. The texture is for armor called Red Dragon Armor, it has red scales on it.
I want to replace these red scales (without taking away the details such as the streaking and the scratches) with gold. I tried using "Color select" then "colorify" but it didn't come out quite right.
What is the usual method for changing the color of a section of an image if there are details and you don't want to use the "bucket fill" option?

I was wondering if photoshop or a plugin got a function, which can create a "plane" looking like pants and then fill it with the texture/pattern I want?
Something similar to vanishing point. Though in this case I got pants. So a square ain't useful.
Take a look at the pictures. I cut out the pants, make a plane looking thing, which shows the depths and folds in its area. After that I apply the texture/pattern. Is this possible with photoshop?
I hope you catch my meaning. If not I will try to describe myself better.

Based on the wording in this post, is the older mask display style just plain gone (and with it the ability to toggle the mask on/off)? I'd love to return to that display style if I can - is there an option to do so somewhere?

In other words, I have a green patterned background, and I want to add a transparent triangle (which should then be the green background by making it transparent) over a white layer. To sum it up, I want the triangle to be filled in with the green patterned background over the white layer. How do I do this?

I am in the process of designing a clear label for my aftershave and would like to have the text on a solid color panel be transparent so that the liquid is visible. I would also like to have an outline (Line) tracing the font. I've been doing some internet searches for "punched out" and "cutout" text and the like but this process is using two solid color layers.
As it stands now, I have a transparent background, the panel as one layer, and the text as another layer on top of the panel.
I came across a process for Illustrator but was hoping that it could be done in Photoshop as well since I have everything already setup in PS. I did try the method described for Illustrator but I couldn't get it to work in PS...not throwing out the high percentage of operator error on this one.

After this I went to save for web and have saved as PNG and GIF format with the transparency box checked but then when I open the image on my site the damn white background is still there.

In short I am Trying to assign or attach an existing 3D models Jacket to a Human Character. I have tried many tutorials on youtube but they are all about garment maker clothes not about existing 3D models clothes.
1st- I have a character model with mesh. The mesh his body including trouser (pants) and shirt. The model is biped rigged so works perfect with *.bip animation.
2nd- I have a good looking jacket. Its a original 3d model not made with garment maker.
I tried to attach the jacket as cloth but the jacket did not stay at position when I runplay bip animation, or when I move the model. It seems the jacket is not attached at all as cloth.
I placed the jacket on the character model correctly at position. Then I clicked the MODIFY button.I select in the “modifier list" “cloth”.In “object properties” of cloth I select jacket as “cloth” with presets as “wool”.Then I click “Use Panel Properties”.At add projects I select the other object. And I press “Add”Then I select “Collision Object”.I press “OK”.It seems that the jacket is not attached to the rest of the character mesh or biped.Even when I press “Simulate Local”it does not attach the jacket to the body it miss shapes the jacket.

I can make the button profile and spin it around its axis just fine..getting the holes into such a shape is another matter..Is this beyond AI's 3D tool capability?
And to be clear, I mean the clothing type of button, with holes for thread, as opposed to an interactive button pushed by a user on a web page.

My main plug-in will not work with Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit mode. It was working fine for awhile, but now it won't. I took my computer to the Apple store for them to look at it. They said that even though we are telling it to open in 32, the program is ignoring that command and opening in 64 bit, thereby causing my plug-in not to work.
