Photoshop :: How Can I Get More Detail From Natural Clouds?
Jun 15, 2008
I have this picture of the sky (wooooooooo). I figured out how to make the blue more vibrant using 'Selective Color'. But I cannot figure out how to make the clouds have more detail. My end production comes out rather flat.

I am making revision clouds on some record drawings. They come out all peachy, but when I save the file and reopen it, all of the wonderful little clouds change to jagged straight lines.

The man I work for wants a demo cover for a CD. He is wearing a red flannel shirt (it is suppose to be funny/outdoors type cover). The expression he has and every other thing is just perfect but I want to replace the plaid with a color and /or another pattern(such as a dark blue denim). Is it possible to do so without losing the lines/folds of the shirt? I know I can play with the hue/saturation but that still leaves me with the horrible plaid pattern.

I often work with Civil Engineers and I use line work from Civil programs such as 3D Civil and Bentley MX. These programs give me splines (see image 1). I trace over the lines to create poly surfaces which may end up being grass or concrete etc (see image 2)
I don't use the terrain command because the command is not always suitable. The lines I import often have gaps or other issues thats why I find it faster to trace over the lines to create my poly surfaces.
But if you look at image 2 it's very blocky. I would like to smooth between these surface to make the terrain look more natural. I have played with turbosmooth and meshsmooth but sometimes they screw up the surface or don't work at all.
How I could make my surfaces more natural and less blocky.

I obviously got far enough to add the images together and get the correct size. I just cant find any tutorials to show me how to make the layers blend and look more natural. I added a new background to an image and I want it to look like it belongs there:

I have a photo of a yellow car that I want to use but the hood is black. I used the ink dropper on the color pallet and then painted over the hood, but it's dull. The color is right but you can tell that it's not natural. A way that I can add a "shine" to it to make it look more natural?

I do cartoons and I want to be able to use the pen tool, brush tool and/or even blob brush tool to draw. I'm trying to draw a straight line that has a varied stroke width, so it looks like it's drawn with a felt tip marker or maybe a pencil. The natural random/varied stroke width is what I'm looking for.
I see the "vaiable width profile" drop down box in the tool bar but I only see one option that looks like this (it says "width profile 2" when I mouse over it). Although this varies in width, it's too consistent and doesn't look natural at all. Is there a way to get a varied stroke width for straight lines? I have a pen talet and have tried pen pressure as well but I've not found an easy way to do this.

I was recently trying to find the normal depth in a natural channel to use as an outfall water surface elevation in SSA. I double checked the normal depth calculations using the Express Add-On in Civil 3D. I found that while the normal depths correlated closely for channels with a single roughness coefficient, they varied considerably if a composite roughness coefficient was used for the left and right overbanks. This leads me to believe that composite roughnesses are being calculated incorrectly in SSA. I would like to use SSA for floodplain analysis, but am unwilling to do so until I have confidence in the calculations.

My question concenrs this photo: [URL] ... (this is my own photo by the way). Just so you know what I mean with 'sky' later on: you're looking at balconies.
I want to extend it on the left so I can make it a desktop wallpaper. However, the original photo does not extend far enough to allow me to just crop differently. How can I, using GIMP, fill up the new space so that it looks like the sky that's already there?
I have GIMP for Mac version 2.8.3.

I have a night-sky picture with a moon. I would like to make clouds on it, which would look really realistic, in dark parts they should be hardly visible or better said they should be dark, but they should be more bright over the moon. The moon shouldn't be covered whole. Can anybody help me with this? How to make such clouds?

I have intermediate level knowledge of Photoshop (CS5). I did a one-day course a couple of months ago, where the instructor told us how to put shapes/images/text in the sky and then make it so that it looked like cloud.
For example we wrote something like, "High in the Sky", then managed to make it look like it was like clouds in the sky that were spelling it out. We also dropped a picture of a plane or something then did the same thing, so there was a cloud shaped plane in the sky. The problem is I've completely forgotten how to do this but it so happens I need it for a work project I am doing.
