If I wanted to create a new swatch palette without the preset colors being there, how can I delete all the swatches at once. I know how to delete each color individually but, is there a way to clear the palette?

I have a Swatch preset with special colors that has a purpos in a game. In order to create game graphics I need to be able to do gradients with only a group of selected swatch colors, without photoshop creating "new" colors in between these.

Is this possible? If not is there a workaround?
I knew how to do it, but I forgot! Really did.
What I want to achieve is have a swatch of the colours/hues of an image. Of course, the number will be limited, but is offers a great starting point to use for painting etc.
I remember that .aco files had something to do with it, but even Help can't teach me.
Any ideas are more than welcome!
I rememebr from my Photopaint days that in that app it was only one click on a button, but that in PS it was more complicated.
Any method or script that enables generation of an image based of all the colors currently in the swatch? I would want it to fill a grid, with a patch of the color with the colors name underneath it, and with the name of the swatch as a header on a black background. Maybe even with the lab, cmyk and rgb values underneath each color.The colors need to be arranged in the same manner as in the swatch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can not delete some of the swatches (PMS colours) from the dock. I've tried to search for any artwork that may contain the colour, but I could not find anything. When I open Swatch Options it only lets me change Color Mode. Swatch name and color type are greyed out no matter what color mode I choose. I've tried to copy and paste the artwork in a new document, restart Illustrator but the problem persist.
I work on Mac OS x 10.6.8..
I created two swatch libraries with the same name which was a mistake and means that i always choose the wrong one.

In trying to figure out where the swatches are I came across a forum post from adobe that mentioned they were in application support in the library.

The script crashes on the Line 'swatch.color = color;' with "Error 1202: Not implemented"..This seems to a bug. I allready filed it.
I'm using cs3 ext. I am looking to cut my body from the background. since my picture is blury because in this particualr frame my arm is moving, the pixels from my arm get intertangled with the black pixels in the background. I was wondering if there is a way to delete the black so that I will only have the tanned pixels (from my arm) show up with no black? I tried using magic wand but it only cuts AROUND my blury arm and does not delete the in between black pixels. there seems to be a lot of options I was thinking there must be some way to be more precise. maybe I can copy the black pixels with eye dropper and get it to delete all the black automatically leaving the lighter arm pixels in tact but I don't know how to do this.

If I create a new black canvas then the colors selected in color picker work with paint bucket.But if I attempt to recolor the background in an existing image that I import into Photoshop, I get the mismatch with colors when I use paint bucket. My method for selecting colors is the same in each case, I select 'set foreground color' and set the color using html values entry at the bottom of the panel.
Just wanted to print a new photo and realized that the colors in print preview do not match the colors in soft proofing. In both cases I selected the same icc profile and rendering method. The print colors matched the colors in print preview. I never had a problem so far. All new prints will be checked with soft proofing and adjusted when necessary. I never paid attention to the color rendition in print preview and all prints perfectly matched the colors from the soft proofing. I was surprised when my print came out of the printer and the colors weren't matching the soft proofing colors, but that of the print preview.

I don't understand why Photoshop renders the colors differently in the first place. See attached screenshot for the difference in the blue/cyan colors. I don't care if the print view colors will match the print, but I do care when soft proofing is not working.
how do you get a pic to be the color of a text? and does anyone have any pattern swatches that I can have!
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe colors of pictures is much darker when working in photoshop than when I open it normally. And vice versa, I work on images inside photoshop, and I get the colors I want, but once I save it to bmp or jpg or anything else, all the colors are much lighter.
i'm using photoshop 7.
I just want to be able to put the swatches in a library into a specific order. I don't see a way to do this I'm just missing it. A google search did not provide any useful insight into this so I figured the next step would be to ask here.

I have figured out how to edit the .aco as text, but there must be an easier way. This will work for now, but in the long run this will not be a reasonable solution.

Specifically in an ancient version of Photoshop (like 3.5) in addition to the preset swatches, there used to be a blank "scratch pad" type palette feature where you could put colors and smoosh them around just like a real artists palette then pick colors from there....is there anyway to do this in Photoshop 7 without creating a separated doc?

Having the age old colour mismatch from two printers problem. Is there a way in photoshop CS2 (or anything else) that I can print a colour swatch that also gives the individual RGB values?
My theory is that if I print the same swatch to the two different printers, I can manually match the colours by eye and adjust RGB values to suit.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen i try to delete a file from LR using the delete from disk option the file does not so up in my trash. I have deleted 200 bad files and the never showed up in the trash. I have been trying to clear up some disk space but the available disk still shows the same so I know they haven't been deleted. Am using Lion on a MacBook Pro 15 and am fully updated. Am I doing something wrong?

Until yesterday I was able to delete pictures, using the contextual menu or the delete key. I got the message asking me if I wanted to delete them from disk or from the catalog.
But now, that popup message doesn't appear. The picture is not removed, just nothing happens.

I checked the logs and this is the error message:

I uninstalled LR moving it to the trash. Then I deleted the com.adobe.Lightroom4.plist and I also removed the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom.
I rebbooted the machine and installed it again. But the issue is still there, with the same error message.

I verified the disk and checked file permissions.
I also tried to use another catalog from a backup.

Nothing, same error.

One anusual thing that I did before the error was to install the "HDRsoft Merge to 32-bit HDR Plug-in for Lightroom - Version 1.0"
I removed it but the error was still there. After the re-install I didnd't install that plug-in again so if it was the problem, it shouldn't be after the clean installation that I did again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a project where I am colorizing roughly 20 images using gradient maps with two different swatches from a color scheme of eight swatches. I'd like to create a color swatch library that I can access and also change out swatches easily so that if the client doesn't like a particular color, I could change that swatch and it would automatically change in all the files using that color library. (The gradient maps would be created by using an adjustment layer, not done to the actual image, if that makes a difference.) Is this possible? Normally I colorize grayscale .psd files directly in InDesign, but the image contrast and clarity is much better when adjusting the color in Photoshop.

Choose the Magic Wand tool , making sure "contiguous" is checked in the Options bar. Select the rectangle under "Monochromatic (Single Hue)". Press Alt+Backspace (Windows) or Option+Delete (Mac OS) to fill the selection with the foreground color.Â
#Open the Color Picker and select two values of your base color. Apply your color selections to the "Values" swatches.
Next, select two intensities, and apply to the "Intensities" swatches.
Now that you've got your color palette, combine the colors into a swatch set. Use the Rectangular Marquee tool to draw stripes and fill with the colors you've selected above. This is a space to experiment with how the colors look next to each other.
Ready for the fun part? Make a selection around the client logo using the Rectangular Marquee tool. The logo has been separated into layers to make color application easy. First, apply color to the "bg" layer. Sample a color swatch using the Eyedropper tool , then press Alt/Option-Backspace to fill with color.
Keeping the selection active, click the "top curves" layer. Sample a color with the Eyedropper tool, then press Alt / Option-Backspace. Move on to the "middle curves" layer. Select a color, and fill.

I often use a photoshop template to create work and was wondering id there was a way to select all items that use a particular swatch color and change them to another swatch color? Right now, I have to find each instance I use that particular color and change them one by one to the new color and was trying to find a better way to do this.
